Dag 1

Aankomst Athene

Arrival at Athens airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The afternoon is free at leisure for exploring this never-sleeping city. You may optionally visit Syntagma Square and get into the city’s vibe. Enjoy shopping in one of the most popular streets of the city in the Kolonaki area of Ermou, and have a nice, quiet walk at the beautiful alleys of Plaka (the old district) where you can also find a big number of small shops selling souvenirs and other local artefacts. Overnight in Athens.

ATHENE – HET KANAAL VAN KORINTH – EPIDAURUS – MYCENE – OLYMPIA (385 km – 9 uur)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Athens through the Corinth Canal (short stop). We will drive to Epidaurus and visit the ancient theater, world-renowned for its spectacular acoustics. Arrive at Mycenae where we will visit the archaeological site and the tomb of Agamemnon. In the afternoon depart to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Overnight in Olympia.

Dag 3

OLYMPIA – DELPHI (330 km – 8 uur)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the archaeological site and the Temple of Zeus, the temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the stadium and the archaeological museum. Next, depart to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. Overnight in Delphi (or Itea).

Dag 4

DELPHI – KALAMBAKA (310 km – 8 uur)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi. Departure to Kalambaka via Central Greece. Overnight stay in Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowned by the Meteora monasteries. Overnight in Kalambaka.

Dag 5

KALAMBAKA – ATHENE (355 km – 9 uur)

Ontbijt in het hotel. Vertrek 's ochtends naar Meteora voor een bezoek aan de Byzantijnse kloosters. Terugkeer naar Athene langs het heldenmonument van Leonidas van Sparta bij Thermopylae. Aankomst in Athene vroeg in de avond. In de avond (na 20:00 uur) transfer naar de luchthaven van Athene en vlucht terug of boek een extra nacht in Athene (niet inbegrepen).
