ARRIVAL ATHENS

Arrival at Athens airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The afternoon is free at leisure for exploring this never-sleeping city. You may optionally visit Syntagma Square and get into the city’s vibe. Enjoy shopping in one of the most popular streets of the city in the Kolonaki area of Ermou, and have a nice, quiet walk at the beautiful alleys of Plaka (the old district) where you can also find a big number of small shops selling souvenirs and other local artefacts. Overnight in Athens.

ATHEN – KANAL VON KORINTH – EPIDAUROS – MYKENE – OLYMPIA (385 km – 9 Stunden)

Frühstück im Hotel. Abfahrt von Athen durch den Kanal von Korinth (kurzer Halt). Wir fahren nach Epidaurus und besuchen das antike Theater, das für seine spektakuläre Akustik weltberühmt ist. Ankunft in Mykene, wo wir die archäologische Stätte und das Grab von Agamemnon besichtigen werden. Am Nachmittag fahren Sie nach Olympia, dem Geburtsort der Olympischen Spiele. Übernachtung in Olympia.

Tag 3

OLYMPIA – DELPHI (330 km – 8 Stunden)

Frühstück im Hotel. Besuchen Sie die archäologische Stätte und den Tempel des Zeus, den Tempel der Hera, den Altar des olympischen Feuers, das Stadion und das archäologische Museum. Anschließend fahren Sie nach Delphi, das in der Antike als der Nabel der Welt bekannt war. Übernachtung in Delphi (oder Itea).

DELPHI – KALAMBAKA (310 km – 8 Stunden)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi. Departure to Kalambaka via Central Greece. Overnight stay in Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowned by the Meteora monasteries. Overnight in Kalambaka.

Tag 5

KALAMBAKA – ATHEN (355 km – 9 Stunden)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Meteora to visit the Byzantine Monasteries. Return to Athens passing by the heroic monument of Leonidas of Sparta at Thermopylae. Arrive in Athens early in the evening. In the evening (after 20:00 p. m.) transfer to Athens airport and flight back or book an additional night in Athens (not included).
