Mendoza Wine Tasting

Today we will visit the Uco Valley, a wine region by essence. We will visit Salentein and Andeluna and we'll have a gourmet experience harmonized with exceptional wines.

Located in the heart of the Uco Valley, Salentein is one of the most historical and yet modern wineries in Mendoza. It has one of Argentina’s largest scale productions, yielding millions of bottles annually, that are sold and consumed around the globe. Salentein aims to make the best Argentine wines using the best of Old World and New World winemaking styles, all while maintaining respect for the people and terroir.

When walking through the winery, we will notice it is designed in the shape of a cross. This design of Salentein's entire property is meant to be both spiritual and practical, intriguing the visitors while moving wine production along. When entering the underground cellar, people almost get lost among the 5,000 oak barrels. A very special and interesting tasting is in store for us here.

We continue for lunch at one of the great rising stars of the region: Bodega Andeluna. The building would look quite at home in a remote part of Texas as a hunting lodge. Situated at the foot of the Andes just outside of the town of Tupungato in the Uco Valley, Andeluna has magnificent views of the mountains. The huge windows of the dining room are designed to take advantage of the effect, allowing us to enjoy the view as much as the food. The kitchen is entirely open for viewing from the dining area, and it is remarkable to see the creativity of these chefs in action. Here we will have a multi-course wine tasting lunch including the top label Pasionado. Then we go back to our accommodation.

Through this tour, you will have the pleasure of discovering an area famous for its high-end wines, awarded worldwide. The tour begins with a visit to the Trapiche winery, which had the honor of receiving the first international recognition in Paris in 1889. Its Renaissance-style building and its magnificent museum demonstrate the greatness of this project. When passing through the vineyards, you will be able to learn about Guyot's pruning, as well as the use of the lunar calendar to sow and plant. After knowing the rooms of interest, we will be ready to celebrate a high-end wine tasting. Later we will go to the second winery: AMP, by the renowned winemaker Karim Mussi. It is located in a historical building that dates back to 1904 and is very special for all those who have the opportunity to get to know it. The venture was born from the acquisition of the Alandes winery in 2012 and over time it acquired a special character reflected by its owner. The experience offers visitors a personalized tasting through a wide portfolio of premium wines. Finally we will visit the renowned Familia Zuccardi winery, where we will be able to know all the elaboration details with the particularities that the family presents, highlighting the ideas of returning to the origins and focusing on the terroir. Later, the delight will be a special lunch accompanied by excellent wines in one of its restaurants. It’s delicious menu will undoubtedly provide a special and unforgettable experience for its visitors.
