Kulturelles Perú: Lima, Arequipa, Colca, Puno, Cusco, Machu Pichu

Departure transfer. Day transfer from the airport to the hotel. The White City opens the doors to us on a tour that begins at the Carmen Alto viewpoint, which offers us a beautiful landscape of agricultural terraces and from where we can observe the three guardian volcanoes that surround the city: Misti, Chachani and Pichu-Picchu. We will continue to Yanahuara´s neighborhood, famous for its church built in the Andalusian style and its viewpoint, built with beautiful architecture and surrounded by ashlar arches. Then, we will visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, closed for about 400 years; and that preserves narrow streets, squares and gardens, a jewel of the 16th century. Finally, we will go to the Plaza de Armas, where we will be able to observe the Cathedral and the portals that surround the square and we will finally go to the Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús; where its cloisters and the famous Dome of San Ignacio stand out. We end our tour here near souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and more beautiful views of the city. Stay in Arequipa.

Wir machen uns auf den Weg in das spektakuläre Colca-Tal. Wir beginnen unsere Reise an den Hängen des Chachani-Vulkans und durchqueren das nationale Reservat von Salinas und Aguada Blanca, ein Schutzgebiet für die verschiedenen Arten südamerikanischer Kameliden wie Alpakas, Lamas und Vikunjas, die wir dort in freier Wildbahn durch das Andenhochland streifen sehen können. Wir umrunden den Vulkan Chucura, bevor wir zum Aussichtspunkt Patapampa gelangen, von dem aus wir die Vulkane der Gegend beobachten können. Wir kommen in Chivay an, wo wir zu Mittag essen und anschließend über den Stadtplatz spazieren und den Markt besuchen. Danach beziehen wir unsere Hotels, um uns auszuruhen. Nur wenige Minuten von Chivay entfernt befinden sich die Thermalbäder von La Calera, so dass ein Bad eine gute Option ist, wenn sich unser Hotel in Chivay befindet. Unterkunft im Colca-Tal.

Very early in the morning, we will go through the Colca Valley, we will go to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. We will be waiting for the imposing flight of the condors, huge birds that are the symbol of the Andes Mountains. The view allows us to fully appreciate the dimension of the canyon, considered one of the deepest in the world. We will visit the towns of Maca and Yanque that preserve their beautiful colonial churches, we will also make some stops at viewpoints such as: Antahuilque and Achoma from where you will have an incredible view of the Collagua terraces. To get to know Titicaca´s Lake on a full day excursion, we will start by visiting Uros, hospitable inhabitants who receive us in artificial islands built on the basis of totora. Then we will continue towards the island of Taquile, where the inhabitants still preserve ancestral traditions and welcome us with their colorful typical clothes. We will not miss the opportunity to explore the island and be surprised with the beautiful views of the lake. In the afternoon, we will return to the city. Stay in Puno.

Today, you will travel from Puno to Cusco aboard a comfortable tourist bus, enjoying a scenic journey through the stunning landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. Along the way, you will make several stops at key cultural and historical sites, allowing you to explore the rich heritage of the region.

Wir werden die herausragendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten des Heiligen Tals der Inkas besuchen. Wir fahren in die Stadt Chinchero, die typischste und malerischste des Heiligen Tals. Diese Stadt ist auch für ihre Weberinnen berühmt. Wir machen einen kurzen Halt in einem Textilzentrum, um die schönen Stoffe zu bewundern und uns die alten Techniken der Inkas zum Färben und Spinnen mit Alpakawolle beizubringen. In der Stadt Chinchero besichtigen wir den archäologischen Komplex der Inka und die schöne Kolonialkirche und genießen die beeindruckenden Naturbilder, die die Stadt umgeben. Weiter geht es nach Moray, einem wunderschönen und kuriosen archäologischen Inka-Komplex, der aus kolossalen konzentrischen Terrassen besteht, die ein großes Amphitheater simulieren. Zu Zeiten der Inkas diente er als landwirtschaftliches Labor, in dem verschiedene Mikroklimata nachgebildet wurden. Mittagessen in einem der Restaurants in der Umgebung. Schließlich beenden wir unsere Tour mit dem Besuch des fabelhaften archäologischen Komplexes von Ollantaytambo, der für die Inkas als militärisches, religiöses und landwirtschaftliches Zentrum wichtig war. Wir besichtigen den Tempel der zehn Fenster, die Bäder der ñusta, den Sonnentempel und andere interessante Orte. Die Postkarten von den Höhen von Ollantaytambo bilden den Abschluss dieses magischen Tages im Heiligen Tal der Inkas. Aufenthalt in Cusco.

A  train trip away to see one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We arrive at the Aguas Calientes station where our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu*, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. At the arranged time, we will take the train back to Cusco to be transferred to the hotel. Stay in Cusco.
