We leave Cape Town at 09h00 and travel to the Cape's famed wine-lands region. The first stop is Babylonstoren - one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms in the winelands. It has a fruit and vegetable garden of beauty, fine food & wine and a sense of wellbeing.
We begin with a guided tour of the fruit and fresh vegetable garden which offers an ever-changing tapestry of botanical diversity. Our next activity will be a cellar tour and wine tasting of the fine wines of Babylonstoren.
Lunch will be served in the Greenhouse Restaurant. The Greenhouse offers guests a wonderful refreshment station after their walk through the garden. All food is served picnic-style in wooden crates with the preserves, jams and salads served in weck jars, while fresh bread from a wood-fired oven is wrapped in the iconic blue-and-white Babylonstoren paper.
Menus are always guided by what is available in the garden. We have a farm-to-fork philosophy which means we like to serve food that is seasonal and that reflects our “pick, clean and serve” approach.
After lunch visit some of the area's most elegant wine estates for optional tasting of their superb wines. Guests will have an opportunity to purchase organic wines or juices.
Overnight at the Montagu Country Hotel & Spa. Experience Hot Water Mineral Spring Water. Flowing naturally from a fissure in the ground, these waters contain minerals that have healing powers. Guests are free to enjoy a visit to the Health Spa. Free for dinner.
