О туре

The far north offers the best winter activities in Canada - snowmobiling, snowshoeing, icefishing, wildlife viewing, hot springs, flightseeing and watching the Aurora Borealis. During this fun-packed winter program you will dine like a fisherman, track like a stampeder - explore like a local.

During a spectactular sightseeing flight above the surrounding area of Whitehorse you’ll have a chance to see the grand landscape of the far north. We’ll take you to explore the rich history of the Yukon during a city tour, watch local wildlife upclose at the Yukon Wildlife Preseve and relax in the soothing hot waters of the local hot springs. Feel the rush of driving a snowmobile into the backcountry to magnificent view points. You’ll setout on a beautiful winter lake to discover the tranquility of ice fishing. If your are lucky and catch a nice fish your guide will fillet it and cook it on the fire. Set your tracks during a snowshoeing and a kicksled tour among some of the most impressive landscapes. On three evenings of your choice, you’ll travel just outside the city centre, but far enough from the city lights to an idyllic Northern Lights viewing location, the AuroraCentre. The evenings will feature relaxing Northern Lights viewing beside a cozy wood stove or roaring campfire. A winter vacation is truly complete with the chance to view the Aurora Borealis cascading across the night sky.

День 2

WILDLIFE, HOT SPRINGS, A BIRDS-EYE-VIEW AND NORTHERN LIGHTS

We start the day with a sightseeing flight above the spectacular winter scenery on a 30 minutes sightseeing flight. During the flight we can enjoy the yukon winter from an angle only few people ever will. Back in Whitehorse we will discover the history of the north on a city-sightseeing tour. Whitehorse has a lot to offer and is home to famous sights like the historic Paddlewheeler SS Klondike or a “Skyscraper” completely made out of logs. Later we drive to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where we can see up close inhabitant game like the Elk, Moose, Caribou, Mountain Goats and Lynx in their natural surrounding. Not far from here we will visit the Eclipse Nordic Hotsprings and endulge ourself in the natural hot waters and relax in a breathtaking winter mountain setting. After a relaxed dinner in Whitehorse, you’ll be back on the road again, this time to seek views of the stunning Northern Lights. Relax in sheltered comfort, or under the starry sky beside a warm fire at one of our tailor-made aurora viewing locations. Accommodation: Hotel in Whitehorse

День 3

ON FAST TRACKS THROUGH THE SNOW

On the afternoon, we drive into the mountains closeby Whitehorse. After a detailed safety introduction we step on our snowmobiles. With enjoyable speed we’ll pass through the memorable winter scenery of the Yukon and soak up the view of snow covered mountains. With a snowmobile, the journey can be an exhilarating ride up and down magnificent mountains or a relaxing tour through the forest and down historic trails. Tonight is another chance to see the Aurora Borealis as we set out to the AuroraCentre. Accommodation: Hotel in Whitehorse

День 4

ICE FISHING & SNOWSHOEING

In the Yukon you'll find some of Canada's best fishing for lake trout, northern pike, Arctic grayling, rainbow trout and Arctic char. Join us for an ice fishing and snowshoeing adventure on one of the beautiful lakes in the Whitehorse area. Snowshoeing is one of the best ways to enjoy the tranquility of the Yukon wilderness and to photograph the stunning Yukon landscape. Depending on conditions, our guide will choose the ideal lake for your ice fishing experience. After a short drive, we leave our vehicle parked by the lake shore and snowshoe the surrounding area to our first spot. With the help of an ice-auger, we will drill a hole in the ice. The ice on a lake can be from 30 cm to 1 m thick! Hot drinks and snacks will be available to keep us toasty. Take a look around and enjoy the beauty of a winter’s day while waiting for the big catch!

If we are lucky and catch a nice trout your guide will fillet it and cook it on the fire. At the end of our day we return to Whitehorse with a record catch of great memories.

Accommodation: Hotel in Whitehorse

День 5

KICKSLEDDING

On this kicksledding tour we will guide you through interesting wilderness routes in the most beautiful scenery in Yukon’s Winterwonderland. You will learn the basics of kicksledding and travel slight elevations on forest trails and on frozen lakes. The Kicksled’s snow and ice rails allow you to ride over snow drifts, across frozen lakes and even fresh powder snow. To manuever the Kicksled, you simply kick the ground between the rails like a scooter while riding on the foot plates on top of the metal rails behind the seat.

A kicksled is a human-powered equivalent of a husky sledge, for anyone who likes to set their own paste.

This night would be another great night to see the beautiful Aurora Borealis.
