Day 1: Meriakamba Hut (Full board) We drive from the hotel in Arusha to Momela Gate. After a short registration at the Gate our walk will begin with full armed ranger escorting us, simply we can see along the way the wild animals including elephants, zebras, and giraffe, monkeys, antelope, and often elephants along the route. Itinéraire
Le mont Meru est la deuxième plus haute montagne de Tanzanie avec 4566 mètres, seuls le Kibo et le Mawenzi (les plus hauts sommets du massif du Kilimandjaro) s'élèvent plus haut dans le ciel. La montagne a été formée par l'activité volcanique dans la vallée du rift est-africain. Il y a environ 250 000 ans, tout le flanc oriental du volcan a été emporté par une violente éruption, un spectacle encore impressionnant aujourd'hui.
La montagne est située au milieu du parc national d'Arusha, et la randonnée du premier jour a donc un charme particulier. Dans les basses terres de la montagne, accompagné d'un ranger, vous verrez des babouins, des buffles, des girafes et d'autres animaux sauvages. L'ascension se fait à travers différentes zones de végétation, de la prairie à la forêt tropicale, et à travers la lande et le désert alpin. C'est une grande montagne qui se dresse sans raison dans l'ombre du Kilimandjaro.
Le Meru est techniquement plus difficile que le Kilimandjaro et nécessite une bonne condition physique - les 1000 derniers mètres sont assez raides. Cependant, il n'est pas nécessaire d'avoir des compétences en escalade.

Cancellation of a booking or failure to join a tour will result in a retention of funds by Almighty Kilimanjaro. as follows: Upon receipt of written cancellation by any member of the tour indicated on this reservation 30 days or longer prior to departure, 20% of the reservation of the canceling party will be retained by Almighty Kilimanjaro and the balance of the package price refunded. If a cancellation is received at least 14 days and up to 29 days prior to departure, 50% of the package price will be retained by Almighty Kilimanjaro . If a cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to departure, 100% of the total package price will be retained by Almighty Kilimanjaro . and all outstanding payment will become payable immediately. Should the canceling party be able to find a replacement for themselves no less than 14 days prior to departure and the replacement completes this booking form individually, no retention of funds will take place. However, should no replacement be found by 14 days prior to departure, a 100% cancellation penalty will apply to the canceling party. Almighty Kilimanjaro . and its agents reserve the right to terminate, at their discretion and with immediate effect, the participation of any person on the tour.
