You will encounter historic villas, castles and wine cellars before finally approaching Lake Garda, whose shores are dotted with beautiful little towns. To start your hike, we recommend a detour to Castel San Pietro, where you have a wonderful view of the whole city, the Valpolicella area and also Lake Garda. Along the Adige river past the seven bridges that connect the two river banks in the old town. As a former river port, Parona is the gateway to the wine region.

Today's hike takes you into the heart of Valpolicella. Enjoy the scenic route through the vineyards and past numerous monuments of Romanesque architecture. You will pass through small villages such as Pedemonte, San Floriano and San Pietro in Cariano before arriving in Fumane.

Relax to your heart's content and stroll through the tranquil village. Visit the panoramic balcony of the mountain church or hike to the sanctuary of Santa Maria di Valverde and on to the small village of San Rocco. After a visit to the village of Gargagnago you hike to San Giorgio di Valpolicella, which towers over the landscape on a hill. When you visit the Pieve, a view of the Valpolicella vineyards awaits you on one side and a view of Lake Garda on the other. Via Ponton, the centre of marble processing, to Cavaion Veronese, very close to Lake Garda.

Take a leisurely hike in the direction of Lake Garda, where you will meet the picturesque village of Bardolino, a pearl on the sea, with the historic church of San Zeno and a harbour basin where it is lovely to linger over a glass of wine. For the overnight stay you will go to the famous Garda, one of the typical towns on the lake, perfect for relaxation and as a starting point for walks and excursions on the lake.
