LLEGADA COTONOU - Jueves, 08 de enero de 2026

¡¡¡BIENVENIDA!!! ¡¡¡BIENVENIDO A COTONOU, BENIN!!!

A tu llegada al Aeropuerto Internacional de Cotonú Cadjehoun, pasa el control de inmigración, recoge tu equipaje y realiza los trámites aduaneros para salir del aeropuerto. Te esperará nuestro experimentado guía turístico, que te recibirá calurosamente y te trasladará al hotel para pasar la noche. Tras registrarte y refrescarte, te reunirás con el guía para recibir una breve orientación sobre lo que te espera durante tu estancia en estos tres países y todas las emocionantes actividades que te esperan. Disfruta del resto de la tarde en tu tiempo libre.

Día 2

COTONOU| PORT NOVO | COTONOU - Viernes, 9 de enero de 2026

Tras el desayuno, viajamos la corta distancia que nos separa de Porto Novo, la capital oficial de Benín y la segunda ciudad más grande, de unos 250.000 habitantes, un agradable cambio de ritmo respecto a la bulliciosa Cotonú. Porto Novo, bautizada por los portugueses en el siglo XVI, sigue mostrando hoy una importante influencia portuguesa. Para su tamaño, Porto Novo tiene una interesante cultura y atracciones turísticas. Visita el mercado y la antigua ciudad colonial con su antigua mezquita. La Gran Mezquita de Porto Novo es un edificio único y quizá el más colorido de África Occidental: una iglesia de estilo brasileño del siglo XIX convertida ahora en mezquita. También visitamos el Palacio Real del Rey Toffa. Esta antigua residencia del rey Toffa se llama ahora oficialmente Musée Home. Este palacio, bien mantenido y bastante sencillo, es una bonita muestra de cómo vivía realmente la realeza africana. 1883 fue el año en que el rey Toffa firmó el tratado con los franceses, acordando la entrega de tierras. El reino de Porto Novo fue uno de los más longevos de África, pues duró hasta 1976.


Tras el almuerzo (por tu cuenta), regresaremos a Cotonú y disfrutaremos de una visita de la ciudad antes de regresar al hotel. Visitaremos los siguientes lugares


La "Explanada de las Amazonas", una plaza pública en la que se encuentra la "Amazona", una estatua de 30 metros de altura construida en homenaje al único ejército femenino del mundo. Estas Amazonas pertenecían al Reino de Dahomey, un imperio de África Occidental que existió desde 1625 hasta 1894.

La Plaza del Recuerdo, que revela el esplendor y las fascinantes obras históricas de la ciudad.

Aquí encontrarás el Jardín Mathieu, la antigua casa del difunto Presidente de la República, Mathieu Kerekou ahora, transformada en una zona florida con un agradable aroma para los visitantes.

También visitaremos la estatua del guerrero wassangari Bio Guéra sobre su caballo mientras corre. En ella se vislumbra el ardor y la valentía con que los guerreros lucharon para detener la invasión colonial. Además, la Plaza de los Mártires fue reformada para rendir homenaje a los soldados y civiles que cayeron con las armas en la mano durante la agresión militar del 16 de enero de 1977. Tras el almuerzo (por tu cuenta) en un restaurante local, regresaremos al hotel. Disfruta del resto del día a tu aire.

Día 3

COTONOU|OUIDAH|COTONOU -Sábado 10 de enero de 2026

Tras el desayuno, saldrás hacia Ouidah, antiguo puesto comercial de esclavos y cuna del vudú. Aquí, experimentarás los misterios de la religión vudú en el festival anual de vudú de Ouidah. Aunque hay muchos festivales en todo el país, éste es el más grande y venerado. Verás a seguidores y adeptos de los distintos dioses vudú, desde los Zangbetos elaboradamente ataviados hasta los seguidores de Kokou. Alrededor de los bordes de la zona principal de actuaciones, grupos de diversos templos vudú realizan sus propios ritos y rituales.


También realizaremos una visita inolvidable que te llevará al Museo del Vudú, al Bosque Sagrado (Bosque de Kpasse), a la Catedral y al Templo de las Pitones. Continuaremos hacia el lugar de la fosa común, el árbol del olvido y la "Puerta sin Retorno". Puede que haya una recepción de bienvenida por parte de Dagbo Hounon, sumo sacerdote del culto vudú. Regresamos a Cotonú llegando a primera hora de la tarde. Cena en el hotel.

Día 4

COTONOU | GANVIE | ABOMEY|COTONOU - Domingo, 11 de enero de 2026

Uno de los puntos culminantes de cualquier viaje a África Occidental es Ganvie, la Venecia africana. En la antigüedad, la gente se refugiaba en el lago Nokoue de los ataques de los temidos guerreros Dahomey, a quienes una profunda creencia prohibía luchar sobre el agua. Con el tiempo, el pueblo Ganvie desarrolló una cultura lacustre y un modo de vida únicos que lo han hecho famoso. Nuestro crucero en barco nos lleva por tranquilas vías fluviales y piscifactorías hasta la comunidad lacustre de Ganvie. Hoy, después del desayuno, saldremos del hotel y viajaremos a Togo cruzando la frontera en Aneho. En ruta, visitaremos la casa de los esclavos en Agbodrafo.


Desde allí podrás viajar fácilmente en barco compartido a Togoville, un pueblo de tierra roja que fue la patria de numerosos esclavos llevados a Haití, miembros del culto vudú. Aquí encontrarás remedios mágicos y amuletos vudú utilizados para lanzar poderosos hechizos. Hoy también te invitamos a probar algunas potentes infusiones preparadas por un herborista de la aldea.


A tu llegada a Lomé, la capital de Togo, considerada la ciudad más cosmopolita del país, disfruta de una visita panorámica de los principales puntos de interés de la ciudad, como la Plaza de la Independencia, el Museo Nacional, el pueblo de los Artesanos, el Mercado Central, donde se pueden encontrar artículos tradicionales, el puerto pesquero, el Mercado de Fetiches, donde se venden productos de magia sagrada, y el Gran Mercado, donde se venden perlas.

Hoy nos dirigiremos hacia el norte de Togo, a la aldea rural de Davedi, para vivir una experiencia rural típicamente africana. Interactúa con los lugareños y sé testigo de sus actividades cotidianas. Prepárate para aprender el Bobo, una danza energética única de las mujeres de esta animada comunidad. También serás testigo de la ceremonia de las muñecas gemelas, en la que dos ancianas que siguen aferradas a las tradiciones locales te mostrarán su tarea habitual de atender a las muñecas gemelas de madera. Bañan a las muñecas, las visten y les sirven comida y bebida. Esta es una oportunidad para conocer el significado de la cultura gemela. Continuamos hacia la típica ciudad africana de Atakpame, construida entre pintorescas colinas. La ciudad es sinónimo de tejido y verás por todas partes telas de colores brillantes llamadas Kente.

En-route, visit to Vume Pottery, well known as the hub of pottery in Ghana to learn the beautiful way of making traditional and contemporary pottery. We continue to Accra arriving early evening. Transfer to the hotel for check and prepare for dinner.

Our day tour begins with a visit will be the W.E.B DuBois Centre honoring the life of the prominent Pan-Africanist who chose to live and work in Ghana. We continue on a scenic drive through the principal streets of Accra and view the Flagstaff house (Ghana’s White House) on our way to the Ghana National Museum. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, final resting place of Ghana’s first president driving pass the Independence Square where you will see the enclosed flame of African liberation, which was lit by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961. The Memorial Park is set in attractive gardens and has a museum which contains photos, artifacts, and an insight into Dr. Nkrumah’s life. Experience a firsthand African shopping at the Accra Arts and Crafts Centre for authentic African arts, crafts, and wear. After lunch (on your own account), we will also visit the Arts and Crafts market where you may try out your bargaining skills on the local vendors and “shop till you drop”. We will make a picturesque stop at the the Independence Arch and the Black Star Square, Accra’s ceremonial grounds, and venue for all national events especially Independence Day celebration, where you could also take some nice shots and add to your gallery. We complete the day’s exploration with a visit to the La Township to see uniquely designed special caskets at the Teshie and Nungua areas which reflect the beliefs of the people in life after death (i.e. a bus driver may be buried in a bus, a waiter in a large beer bottle etc.).

ACCRA |CAPE COAST | ELMINA (Aprox. 150km) - Viernes, 16 de enero de 2026

Hoy partiremos hacia las tierras costeras de Ghana: Elmina y Cape Coast. De camino, exploraremos el casco antiguo (Mankessim) con sus singulares santuarios Posuban, construidos por las sociedades tradicionales "Asafo", que antaño se encargaban de la defensa local. También haremos una parada en un mini centro comercial de Mankessim para tomar un tentempié/almorzar. Al llegar a Elmina, visitaremos el Castillo de Elmina, construido por los portugueses en 1482 y también conocido como Castillo de San Jorge. El Castillo fue la primera estructura europea construida en el África Subsahariana, ahora declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad.


Disfruta de las vistas de los numerosos y coloridos barcos pesqueros que traen sus capturas diarias al puerto y aprovecha para mezclarte con los lugareños en el mercado cercano. A poca distancia del mercado visitaremos a los constructores de barcos, que siguen construyendo coloridas embarcaciones pesqueras utilizando herramientas y métodos tradicionales desde hace siglos.

Hoy visitaremos el Castillo de Cape Coast, patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO. Tras desayunar y hacer el check out, nos dirigiremos a Cape Coast. El castillo es un monumento que invita a la reflexión sobre un periodo angustioso de la historia de la región. Realizarás un emotivo viaje por el castillo que albergó a más africanos esclavizados que ningún otro de la región, viendo las mazmorras y la infame "Puerta de no retorno". En su interior hay un importante museo histórico que explica la historia del castillo y de la propia Costa del Cabo.


Explora el fascinante mundo del marisco visitando el Mercado de Pescado de Elmina, uno de los mayores mercados de pescado del país. Recorre el mercado con tu guía experimentado y aprende cómo se pesca, distribuye, vende y prepara el pescado en diferentes manjares. Dependiendo de la hora, podemos volver al hotel para refrescarnos antes de cenar o ir directamente al lugar donde cenaremos esta noche. Disfruta de la cena con una auténtica actuación de música cultural africana.

ELMINA | ASSIN MANSO | KUMASI (Festival Akwasidae) Domingo 18 de enero de 2026

Tras el desayuno, conduciremos por la zona boscosa hasta Kumasi, sede del Imperio Ashanti, para explorar las leyendas de los famosos ashantis, cuyos legados siguen siendo evidentes hoy en día, con una parada en Assin Manso. Visitaremos el emplazamiento de "Donkor Nsuo", antiguo río y mercado de esclavos y punto de tránsito final de un gran número de africanos esclavizados. Este es el lugar de descanso final de dos antepasados cuyos restos mortales fueron devueltos desde EEUU y Jamaica y reinterrados allí. Desde aquí, continuarás hacia Kumasi.


Habrá paradas para merendar/almorzar/bañar, según coordine el guía turístico.


Al llegar a Kumasi, visitaremos primero el Museo del Palacio Manhyia para obtener información de primera mano sobre los legados del reino Ashanti. Una historia regia que se remonta a 1700 se relata con reliquias y artefactos.


Únete a la celebración del Festival Akwasidae ; la pompa y el boato del Reino Ashanti. El rey, montado en un palanquín y adornado con todos sus ornamentos de oro, sale a recibir el homenaje de sus subjefes y su pueblo; es un espectáculo contemplar los coloridos toldos y sombrillas, los hábiles tamborileros, bailarines, sopladores de cuernos y cantores de alabanzas en estos festivales periódicos, celebrados en honor de sus espíritus ancestrales.

KUMASI Y VICINIDAD Lunes 19 de enero de 2026

Tras un desayuno tranquilo y un comienzo relajado del día, saldremos a explorar varias aldeas artesanales tradicionales enclavadas en la exuberante campiña. Tendrás la oportunidad de presenciar el tejido de la emblemática tela Kente, observar la creación de la tela Adinkra -que se usa en los funerales y es apreciada por sus intrincados símbolos impresos a mano- y visitar a hábiles talladores de madera que fabrican objetos como taburetes, figuras de la fertilidad y tambores.


Tras la visita a la aldea, regresaremos a Kumasi y visitaremos el Centro Cultural Nacional. Allí explorarás el Museo del Jubileo Prempeh II y tendrás la oportunidad de observar a los artesanos trabajando en talleres dedicados a la fabricación de latón, cerámica y batik.

These terms apply to independent tours. Group tours have separate deposit and cancellation terms,

which are tour-specific. All payments, deposits, and cancellation amounts listed are per person. To

confirm a reservation the following deposit and final payment terms must be strictly adhered to

and are required at the time of reservation.

Tour Deposit & Final Payment

Deposit Due Per Person is $500 or 25% of tour cost, whichever is greater. We reserve the right to

request additional deposits as required by hotels and suppliers for peak periods such (but not

limited to) Christmas, New Year, Easter, and other holidays. Final Payments are due 45 days

before Tour begins. For reservations received within 45 days of commencement of services, the

entire amount is to be submitted at the time of confirmation. Reservations received within 45 days

of the start of the tour may be subject to a non-refundable rush-booking fee of no less than $125

per person to cover additional expenses incurred to expedite booking.

Cancellation Terms

Continent Tours’ cancellation policy is applied as follows:

 Cancellations made 45 days or more prior to the start of the tour will be charged a

cancellation fee of 15% of tour cost with a minimum payment of $ 400 per traveler.

 Cancellations made 44 to 30 days prior to the start of the tour will be charged a cancellation

fee of 20% of the tour cost with a minimum payment of $475 per traveler.

 Cancellations made 29 to 17 days prior to the tour start date will be charged a cancellation

fee of 25% of the tour cost with a minimum payment of $ 700 per traveler.

 Cancellations made 16 days or less prior to the tour start date will be charged a cancellation

fee of 100% of tour cost, No Refund.

 Trip Cancellation Insurance Is Recommended

Domestic flight tickets are non-refundable when alternate (land) arrangements are made.

No-shows, late arrivals, voluntary changes, or cancellations by travelers of tour days or services

during a tour are non-refundable. Cancellation insurance is recommended.

Prior to the start of the tour, Continent Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour and will provide a

full refund of all payments. Continent Tours has never canceled a tour but would do so at its sole 

discretion should travelers’ safety be of concern. Continent Tours is not responsible for expenses

incurred by travelers in preparing for a trip that is eventually canceled.

Once travelers are at the destination in Africa, Continent Tours will provide comparable alternate

tour arrangements, if the cancellation of a particular tour is deemed necessary. Should travelers

elect not to accept these alternate arrangements, this will constitute voluntary refusal of services,

and no refunds will be given. Pro-rata refunds will be made if alternate arrangements are not

comparable to the original tour services. Please note: Domestic flights may be replaced by ground

transportation if the domestic flight schedule renders flights impossible within the constraints of a

tour and/or the tour dates; in this case, the missed flights are non-refundable as the ticket price will

be used to make alternate land arrangements.

Insurance

Travel insurance while not mandatory is highly recommended and is not included in the tour price.

Tour Prices

Continent Tours prices are stated in U.S. Dollars (USD) and are subject to change until a tour

deposit is received.

Prices do not include international travel to/from Africa, passport fees, entry visa fees, excess

baggage charges, airport taxes, immunizations or other medical fees, non-specified meals,

alcoholic or other beverages, insurance, tips for tour staff, laundry, and other personal expenses.

Responsibilities

It is Continent Tours’ responsibility to provide the services listed with each tour itinerary.

Continent Tours includes this information with every price quote.

All lodging is double occupancy, bed & breakfast; including private baths. Comparable hotel

substitutes will be provided if planned accommodations are not available. For single occupancy, a

single supplement will be applied. Day rooms are not included unless specified. Hotel check-in

and check-out times are 2:00 Pm (1400 hours) and 12 noon (1200 hours).

Continent Tours reserves the right to make itinerary modifications or to change hotels or other tour

components, if these are deemed necessary or advisable for the continuation of the tour, for safety

and security reasons, or to prevent delays that would be detrimental to the tour or its members.

Continent Tours is not responsible for delays or consequences of any delays due to circumstances

beyond Continent Tours’ control. Continent Tours will make every effort to provide alternate and

comparable services if changes are made.

Scheduled domestic flights are sometimes postponed or canceled; Continent Tours is not

responsible for these inconveniences and will, where possible, use the ticket price of missed

domestic flights to make land arrangements. If clients opt to refuse land arrangements Continent

Tours will reimburse the cost of the air tickets when these amounts are refunded to Continent Tours

by the air carrier.

All luggage should have sturdy identification tags and should always be locked. Continent Tours

personnel will assist travelers with lost luggage formalities at the airport. Continent Tours will also

make every effort to forward lost luggage to its owner during the tour; any costs incurred in

forwarding luggage are the responsibility of the traveler. Please note: baggage limits on domestic

flights vary but are usually limited to one item of 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and one carry-on bag.

Additional services required as a result of international flight schedule changes, illness, or

emergencies are the responsibility of the traveler. Continent Tours personnel will do endeavor to

assist travelers who may need to make new flight arrangements. This is done as a courtesy and

implies no responsibility on the part of Continent Tours to find or make new arrangements. The

costs or penalties for any such arrangements are the sole responsibility of the traveler.

Continent Tours’ guide has the ultimate recourse of removing a traveler from a tour at any time, if

that person’s continued presence is deemed harmful to him/herself or others, or if it adversely

affects the quality of the tour and/or the enjoyment of the group. A pro-rata refund will be made

for missed activities, contingent upon refunds provided by suppliers.

Travelers must procure their own passport, entry visa(s), and health documents.

Travelers agree to comply with local laws and regulations and to respect cultural practices

observed during the tour. Travelers understand that living conditions and practices in West Africa

and Central Africa may not be the same as in their home countries.

Travelers are expected to be on time for all tour activities; there are no refunds for missed activities.

If travelers miss any flights or other scheduled departures, the responsibility and the cost of

rejoining the tour will be theirs.

Travelers with special needs or disabilities must inform Continent Tours at the time of booking;

failure to disclose in advance any physical or other restrictions, or the need for special

accommodations, will make it impossible to meet those needs. When informed, Continent Tours

will make every effort to accommodate travelers and will inform travelers of local conditions they

will likely encounter.

For their own safety as well as for the smooth operation of their tour, travelers are expected to

follow their Tour Leader/Guide’s requests and instructions; any problems encountered during the

tour should be brought to the guide’s attention immediately, so that the guide may remedy the

situation. If the guide is unable to do so, or you are not satisfied with the remedy, please contact

the Continent Tours office and report the problem.

Tips and gratuities, while not mandatory, are accepted as recognition of quality service by guides,

drivers, restaurant personnel, and others. These tips and gratuities are not covered by tour fees and

Security and Safety

Travelers’ safety and security are Continent Tours’ first priority. We do not conduct tours to

dangerous areas and we always work with local personnel, who are fully cognizant of local security

conditions. In order to avoid driver fatigue and accidents, we avoid driving at night.

Travelers are expected to exercise caution with their person and belongings in public areas.

Travelers are also expected to keep their valuables at hand at all times, and to keep their luggage

locked. Continent Tours is not responsible for articles forgotten in hotel rooms, restaurants, etc.

General Disclaimer

The participant recognizes that Continent Tours is not responsible for circumstances beyond its

control, including, without limitations, acts of God, explosion, tempest, fire, accident, and war,

threats of war, sabotage, sickness, insurrection, government intervention, weather conditions,

quarantine, civil disturbances, or armed conflict. Continent Tours will use its best efforts to

reschedule or alter tours affected by any of the foregoing but is not under any obligation to refund

any portion of the cost of the tour or to reimburse the participant in any way, even if forced to

cancel the trip as a result, Continent Tours will where possible, make refunds, after deducting a

reasonable amount to cover actual and potential costs. In the event that Continent Tours

investigates the prevailing situation, and decides, as its sole discretion, that the tour can go forward,

but the participant elects to cancel, then no refund will be payable and the provisions regarding

payment and cancellation will apply. These provisions also apply to delays and cancellations

involving carriage by land, sea and air, including those involving travel to and from the destination.

The participant understands that such delays are beyond Continent Tours control and that the

participant must look to the terms and conditions by the carrier and international conventions for

any remedy or relief.

The participant recognizes that Continent Tours is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control, including, without limitations, acts of God, explosion, tempest, fire, accident, war, threats, sabotage, sickness, insurrection, government intervention, weather conditions, quarantine, civil disturbances, or armed conflict. Continent Tours will use its best efforts to reschedule or alter tours affected by any of the foregoing, but is not under any obligation to refund any portion of the cost of the tour or to reimburse the participant in any way, even if forced to cancel the trip as a result. Continent Tours will, where possible, make refunds after deducting a reasonable amount to cover actual and potential costs. In the event that Continent Tours investigates the prevailing situation, and decided as its sole discretion that the tour can go forward, but the participant elects to cancel, then no refund will be payable and the provisions regarding payment and cancellation will apply. These provisions also apply to delays and cancellations involving carriage by land, sea and air, including those involving travel to and from the destination. The participant understands that such delays are beyond Continent Tours’ control and that the participant must look to the terms and conditions by the carrier and international conventions for any remedy or relief.
