12-Day Rwanda Safari & Beyond (Volcano National Park, Nyungwe Forest National Park, Akagera National Park)

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive into the Nyungwe Forest. On the way you will visit Nyanza King’s Palace, Ethnographic Museum(the National Museum of Rwanda), and Murambi genocide memorial. 

After breakfast you will enter the Nyungwe forest to track the Nyungwe colobus monkey. A walk into the forest with our knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology, and interspecies relationships will be a whole new learning experience for you. You will return to the guest house for lunch and have your overnight at the hotel.

Today will be your second day in the Nyungwe forest.early in morning you track chimpanzee and go back to hotel for lunch. According to you wish in the afternoon you can visit Canopy walk away or Nature walk to the waterfall. Your overnight stay will be at top view hill hotel. 

Early in the morning you will head to Kibuye via Gisakura. Along the way you will enjoy the thousands of beautiful green hills that make up our country as well as views of Kivu Lake(Kivu belt lodge). Your overnight stay will be at the Betania Guest House where you can access beach of lake Kivu with view of sunset.

Today you will transfer to Gisenyi by speed boat or by vehicle (the choice is yours). Along the way you will explore the wonderful views of the different islands along Lake Kivu and some of the Congolese hills. Your overnight stay will be at the Paradise Malahide.

After breakfast, you will spend part of the day relaxing and swimming at Kivu Serena Beach. after you will drive to Musanze, the base town for visiting mountain gorillas. Enjoy a visit of cultural village(Gorilla guardians village) and then overnight at the Five Volcanoes Hotel where Dian fossey was spent her night in Musanze.

Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park for your first gorilla trek. You will arrive at the main office at 7:00am for a short briefing and coffee break before going on your trek. back at your hotel.

Today you will visit the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. You will again have to be at the main office at 7:00am for a short briefing before your trek. Return at lunchtime and then go visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Your overnight stay will be at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Akagera via Kigali. Here you will have lunch at Dereva hotel one hour before you reach into Akagera National Park. You will cruise to Lake Ihema in the afternoon and then go on a bird watch in Akagera. Your overnight stay will be at Akagera Game Lodge.

After breakfast you will go on a game drive in the park( around 7 hours from the main entrance to the exit), exploring the best of what eastern Rwanda has to offer. You will take some final pictures of the various animals and enjoy the views before going back to Kigali. Your overnight stay will be at 2000 Hotel Mid-range hotel .

After breakfast, and depending on your departure flight, you may go on a complementary visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial site and after you can visit Natural history museum of Rwanda/ President palace museum and get lunch at Africa bite restaurant where you will enjoy african food. depend on choice you can have shop of souvenirs(caplaki craft village ) after this you will escorted by driver guide to the kigali international airport
