Walk and hike the Dalmatian coast and islands

Start the day with a transfer to the Krka National Park. Walk along the network of forest pathways, cross wooden bridges at the waterfalls of Skradinski Buk, visit watermills and the restored complex of small stone houses and workshops.  Continue to Roški Slap, where a lunch or picnic break is planned. Following the visit to the national park, we depart for the historic town of Šibenik to see its main attractions such as UNESCO protected St. James’s Cathedral. 

PLEASE NOTE: Today’s activity is part of a guided tour that departures from Split. The tour includes transportation, guide accompanying the tour group, entrance tickets. The tour lasts from 8 AM till 7 PM.

Enjoy the ride on the morning public ferry to the island Brač. Besides tourism and olive oil production, Brač is particularly famous for its special white building stone. Since ancient times this stone was used in construction and examples can be seen all over the world, for example the entire Diocletian’s Palace in Split as well as parts of the White House and many other sites were built with Brač stone. Therefore, stone masonry and stone quarrying are still present on the island.

You can choose between a couple of hiking options and walk past numerous olive groves, traditional fishermen villages, stone walls and quarries, beautiful coves and pebble beaches. Both walking options include nice coastal parts where you might want to take a dip in the crystal-clear sea of Brač before riding the ferry back to Split.

Today you are heading to island Hvar. The walk starts in Stari Grad, the ancient Greek colony dating back to 4th century BC. You will walk the north side of the island passing numerous charming villages and hamlets, lavender fields and olive groves that are located inside the UNESCO protected agricultural plain. Explore and enjoy a lunch break in the fishermen village of Vrboska, have a dip in one of the numerous bays before you arrive to Jelsa, charming village on the north coast of the island, where you spend the evening.

The walk today starts from a former shepherds’ settlement that is famous for its lavender and rosemary oil production. Passing by lavender fields, ancient stone walls and traditional villages you arrive to the south coast of the island from where you continue the walk along the coastal rocky path. The turquoise sea will be calling you, so make sure you pack your swim suit. Finish the walk in town Hvar. The evening is at your disposal, enjoy coffee or gelato at the main square and watch the world go by. Check out historical sites dating back to the 7th century, the Venetian loggia and oldest public theatre in Europe.
