Itinerary

The Hidden World of North Borneo - A Community Based Eco-Tourism Project of Murut Heritage and Culture. Have an insight to the natural beauty as well as diverse cultures of local communities and traditions of Borneo. An authentic & meaningful experience whilst supporting conservation efforts and giving direct impact to local communities & environment

Tour program

Day 1

Kota Kinabalu – Keningau – Pungiton Camp [L/D]

Transfer from your Hotel in Kota Kinabalu city to the Sentral Bus Terminal to catch a 2½ hours coach ride to Keningau town at 7.30am. Meet with the Local Guide and continue the journey to Labang Village for a river transfer to Pungiton Camp. After settling in, embark to discover the unexplored Pungiton Caves. Walk through a cave with an underground stream and wonder at the formation of stalactite and stalagmite. Return to camp. Enjoy dinner and watch the night sky from the eating area before falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle.

Day 2

Pungiton Camp – Vangkakon Camp [B/L/D]

After Breakfast, depart on another river cruise for jungle trekking activity through the pristine primary rainforest to the foot of the Legendary Batu Punggul, the 800 feet limestone pinnacle, rising out of the jungle. For the adventurous, scramble and climb up to the top for a magnificent view of the jungle canopy. After a picnic lunch by the riverbanks, get transferred to Vangkakon Hidden Waterfall to enjoy a refreshing and relaxing swim. After dinner, put up the night in a tent at the Vangkakon Camp just by the Vangkakon Waterfalls.

Day 3

Vangkakon Camp – Romol Village [B/L/D]

Spend first half of the day relaxing at the waterfall before transferring to transfer to the MunorAulai Guesthouse at Romol Eco Village. Stroll in the Farm Tour activity. See various crops and understand more about the Integrated Farming processes. In the evening is spent feasting on Murut food, wine, and local dancing.

Day 4

Romol Village – Keningau - Kota Kinabalu [B]

After breakfast, return Kota Kinabalu. Estimated to reach Kota Kinabalu between 1300hrs to 1400hrs.


Note: 

• Activities are subject to weather conditions and may be re-organized to best meet operational situation. 

• Basic accommodation at Pungiton Camp, Vangkakon Camp and Romol Village. 

• Physical fitness is required as it involves a lot of walking and trekking. 

• Recommended to travel light. You may leave your luggage in the hotel luggage room in Kota Kinabalu


Cancelations made 60 days or less prior to arrival:  subject to cancellation fee (by the hotel)

Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival: subject to 50% cancellation fees.

Cancellations made 21 days or less prior to arrival: subject to 75%  cancellation fees.

Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to arrival: subject to 100% cancellation charge.

No Show/ Shorten Stay: subject to 100% cancellation charges.

 


Do note that Cancellation fees are levied by Asian Overland Services in cases where charges arise from outside contractors or where actions taken extend beyond reservation for tours and hotel accommodation. Charges are levied at the sole discretion of Asian Overland Services for operation planning, consulting and ancillary expenses relating to development of services of a specialized nature.


General PAYMENT Term

Non-refundable deposits may be required for certain product (program involving Selingan Island and Mountain Climbing), or if travel during high season. A deadline to make deposit payment will be advice upon booking confirmation.

Full Payment is required to be made for all services at least 30 days before travel period, or by the given dateline.
