The trip will begin from Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar and lead you to the southern and the eastern part of Madagascar. During the trip, you will have the opportunity to discover some of the well-known sites in these areas such as the beautiful beachside of Ifaty with its Baobabs, Isalo National Park with its sandstone massif and its natural swimming pool, Ranomafana National Park with its bamboo lemurs, Analamazaotra special reserve that shelters the biggest lemurs on earth called Indri Indri, the private reserve “le Palmarium” where you can see the wildlife, various fauna and flora. Then, you will end the tour with a few days of relaxation in Sainte Marie which is a paradisiacal Island.
The rainy season & cyclone period in Madagascar usually starts from mid-November until the end of March.
The best time to visit the country: from mid-April until the end of October.
At your arrival, you will be welcomed at IVATO international airport by our team, and then we will transfer you to the hotel. If time allows, we will give you some briefing of the tour.

According to your flight’s schedule, you will be transferred to Ivato National Airport and fly to the south in Toliara, the White City. At your arrival, you will be picked up and if time allows, you will make a little city tour before installing at your hotel in Ifaty.

This day, you will visit the Reniala reserve or called the forest of baobab trees and medicinal plants. The afternoon will be free to relax and enjoy the beach. You can take advantage of that time and possibly take one of the optional activities such as pirogue excursion with the Vezo fishermen.

You will have this day on your own, so you can take advantage of the beautiful beach of Ifaty. Furthermore, lots of activities are proposed to clients in Ifaty such as snorkeling in Ankarajelita reserve, scuba diving, fishing, and visiting the tortoise village. Therefore, you can optionally follow these interesting activities. Overnight in Hotel.
After breakfast, you will go to Ranohira. On the way, you will enjoy the baobabs, the landscape with multicolored Mahafaly tombs. Then, you will stop at Zombitse National Park to explore the endemic plants and animals sheltered in this park, such as the baobabs and the Sifaka dancing lemurs. After this short visit, you will pass through Ilakaka, a small town of sapphire diggers. At your arrival you will install at your hotel.
Distance: 280 km by car – about 5 hours.
Hiking: about 01 hour and a half
Overnight in Hotel.
The village of Ranohira is the gateway to all excursions at Isalo national park, which is a huge massif, eroded at Jurassic time. You will hike in the park through the Baras tombs, the botanical garden, and the point of view that thereafter ends by the natural swimming pool of the limpid water. After the visit, you will return back to the hotel.
Hiking: about 03 hours
Overnight in Hotel.
After breakfast, you will leave the hotel and go to Ranomafana. After few hours of drive, you will stop in Anja Private Park, which is managed by the village community. The story of « the three brothers » will be told by the local guide on site. Cattas lemurs offer joyful welcoming. Then, you will continue to Ranomafana.
Distance: 335 km by car - about 07 hours by car
Overnight in Hotel.
Ranomafana National Park is rich in fauna and flora. It shelters different species of lemurs and interesting vegetation, which are endemics. Early in the morning, you will go for a walk about three hours in the forest. In the afternoon, a visit of a village called Tanàla will be in the schedule and after the visit you can optionally go swimming to the thermal pool.

Overnight in Hotel.
After breakfast, you will leave Ranomafana and go to Antsirabe, known as the city of water. On the way, you will stop in Ambositra to admire the skills of the craftmen of this city. Then, at your arrival in Antsirabe you will be transferred on rickshaw and make a visit of a workshop which transforms zebu horn into an object of decoration. After the visit, you will install at the hotel.
Distance: 254 km – 05 hours
Overnight in Hotel.
This day you will leave Antsirabe and continue to discover the eastern part of Madagascar. So, you will be driven till Andasibe. But on the way, you will visit an exotic farm where reptiles, batrachians and mammals are together. After the visit, you will continue and move on to Andasibe. In the evening, a night walk along the way will be scheduled to discover the nocturnal animals living there.
Distance: 300 km by car – 08 hours
Overnight in Hotel.
Early in the morning, you will depart for Analamazaotra special reserve. This day will be spent for meeting Malagasy fauna and flora. The Indri indri, the largest lemurs on earth are in their natural environment. In the afternoon, you will make a visit of a private reserve and a lemur’s island.

After breakfast, you will depart to Manambato the gateway to Ankanin'ny Nofy. You will cross the Rasoa Be Lake and you will follow the Pangalanes channel until the reserve of Palmarium by boat. At your arrival you will install at the hotel. In the evening, a nocturnal visit to see the “Aye aye” is on the schedule
Distance: 140 km by car – about 3 hours
Cruise duration: about 01 hour and a half
Overnight in Hotel.
In the morning, you will make a visit of the private reserve, « Le Palmarium » which offers variety of endemic plants and animals of Madagascar. The afternoon will be off in which you can take a walk along the edge of the channel, swimming or visiting surrounding villages.

Early in the morning, you will leave Ankanin’ny Nofy and head to Toamasina. For that, you will be transferred by boat through the Pangalanes channel. Operational since the first half of the 20th century, this channel allowed the whole oriental coast of Madagascar to forward their products toward the port of Toamasina which is Madagascar’s main commercial harbor. After taking lunch there, you will move on to Mahambo.

Distance: 95 km by car – 04 hours

After breakfast, you will take the boat to Sainte Marie. Encircled with sea in turquoise waters and with splendid beaches, Sainte Marie is a paradisiacal island. At your arrival in Sainte Marie, you will install to the hotel and enjoy this extraordinary quiet place.

Overnight in Hotel.
You will have these three days free on your own. Therefore, it is also possible to go on a whale safari to observe these large mammals celebrating their love in their period from July to mid-September, and the rest can be spent by renting motorcycles or bikes for a ride to Ambodifotatra, the center. Moreover, the island of nattes, which is not far from the hotel, is also an ideal place for a day of excursion. There is a small village with local people whom you can encounter.

After these few days of discovery and relaxation you will return back to Antananarivo. So according to your flight schedule you will be transferred to Airport of Sainte Marie and take-off to the international airport of Ivato. At your arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel.

In the morning, you will go to Ambohimanga, the cradle of the Merina monarchy. There, the history of Madagascar will be brought closer. After that, you will make a city tour to discover the old architecture of the capital from the top end of the town, and the administrative buildings. And right after that, you will purchase some souvenir items at the craft market. Then, you will go back to the hotel.
Distance: 20 km – about 45min
Overnight in Hotel.
After a pleasant stay in Madagascar full of new memories and pictures, you will be transferred to Ivato Airport according to your international flight's schedule. With our gratitude, we will say “Thank you for having chosen our Agency” and hopefully, we shall meet again soon in Madagascar. Have a safe flight!
RESPONSIBILITY
AUTHENTIC MADAGASCAR TOURS (A.M.T.) takes full responsibility of all stays of our customers inside the Malagasy territory and accomplishment of trip, which requires the involvement of different service providers. However, it can exempt itself from all or any other part of its responsibility by providing proof that the non-accomplishment of the contract is attributable either to the buyer or to the wayward and insurmountable fact of a third party, foreign to the provision of the services intended in the contract, or in case of a force majeure.
CLAIMS AND REFUND
Any complaint related to the trip or stay must be sent by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt to A.M.T. within one month after the return date (The postmark stamp being taken as proof or sent scanned by email). After this period, any claim would be inadmissible.
The renunciation to one of the services included in a given package will not be subject to any refund. In case of a discontinuance of stay by the customer, there will be no refund unless the reason for the interruption is covered by the cancellation insurance from which the customer is subscribed.
If AMT is unable to provide a part of the services planned in the contract, it will suggest other services to replace those which are scheduled while eventually sustaining all additional cost.
MODIFICATION
Travelers are not able to change their stay’s itinerary without AMT’s prior agreement.
However, customers can make a request for modification after payment and registration, and it must be received in writing, and unless AUTHENTIC MADAGASCAR TOURS agree:
more than 45 days before the arrival of the traveler, no costs are taken into consideration but the traveler will accept the modification with all changes that may occur during the journey (Change of hotels initially planned ...)
within 15 days, AMT offers the traveler to postpone his trip to a later date.
Either terminate his contract and obtain immediately a refund of paid amounts without penalty
The service provider reserves the right to modify the service if it deems it necessary, in particular for safety reasons. In this case, participants won’t be entitled to any reimbursement or compensation.
If A.M.T. is strained to make a modification to one of the essential elements of the contract such as a significant increase in the price, after registration and payment of the services, the traveler may, without prejudging recourse for compensation for damage eventually suffered and after having been informed by AMT:
Or accept the modification proposed by AMT. An amendment specifying the changes that occurred will be signed by both sides; any reduction in price is deducted from any sums remaining due by the buyer and, if the payment already done by the latter exceeds the cost of the modified service, the supplement must be returned to him before the departure date.
INSURANCE
A.M.T. has taken out professional liability insurance, applying to Tour Operators of the Malagasy Republic and covering only the territory of Madagascar with ARO. The customer is responsible for all damage caused by himself. The client is advised to take out insurance, particularly for the outcomes of cancellation resulting from some causes.
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
The reservation becomes firm when the customer has paid the full price of the agreed service which should be one month before the start of the stay. The customer who has not paid by the agreed date is considered to have canceled his stay.
The price indicated during registration is the total cost that will be paid by the customer; however, special conditions for price revision may be provided in accordance with legislative or regulatory provisions. The services included and not included in the program are always mentioned on the contract.
In general, regarding services on car rentals, excursions or transfers, no deposit will be required but payment will be in cash.
The payment of our prices will be made by bank transfer without deduction of bank fees and commissions on behalf of the company AUTHENTIC MADAGASCAR TOURS of which distributed as the following:
- More than 1 month before departure: 20% of the total cost of the trip
- 1 month before departure: 100% of the trip’s full cost.
In case of a registration within less than 30 days before the start of the stay, the full payment will be required during reservation.
CANCELLATION BY THE TRAVELER
Any cancellation must be reported by registered letter or email to the company.
Cancellation by the client causes, besides the administrative costs, the withholding of variable costs depending on the nature of the trip or stay and the date on which it takes place, the amount of which is as the following:
- More than 30 days before departure: 20% of the total amount of the trip;
- From 30 to 15 days before departure: 65% of the total amounts of the trip
- From 15 to 07 days before departure: 85%
- From 08 days to 02 days before departure: 95% of the total amounts of the trip
- No show: 100%
In case of no show by the customer on arrival or any other last-minute impediment, no refund will be processed. We recommend that our clients take out a cancellation insurance with their regular insurer.
In case of a late or delayed arrival, the customer must notify the company whose address and telephone number appear on all documents resulting from the company
CANCELLATION BY AUTHENTIC MADAGASCAR TOURS
In case the trip is cancelled by A.M.T. for reasons that are related to public safety, less than 45 days before the trip, the client, without prejudging to any recourse for compensation that may have been incurred, shall obtain an immediate refund of all sums already paid or AMT shall suggest the traveler another trip.
PURCHASE ORDER
Upon receipt of the clearance, the company sends the customer a voucher which he must give to the service provider on arrival or an acknowledgment of receipt.
In addition, AMT will inform the customer of the various administrative formalities or expenses that would encumber the customer.
