Day 1

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft) 3 hours walk


Your Island Peak Expedition begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where you'll touch down on one of the world's most renowned airstrips. From Lukla, you'll embark on a three-hour trek to Phakding, nestled at an altitude of 2,652 meters (8,700 feet). It's a gentle start to your journey, allowing you to soak in the Himalayan scenery and experience the first taste of trekking life.

Day 2

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft): 5-6 hours walk


The second day leads you to Namche Bazaar, a picturesque town perched at 3,440 meters (11,283 feet). The trek takes approximately 5-6 hours and offers breathtaking views along the way. Here, you'll have your first acclimatization stop and explore the vibrant local culture.

Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar


Spend a day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the altitude, ensuring your body is prepared for the challenges ahead. Explore the town and its surroundings, and enjoy the hospitality of the Sherpa people.

Day 4

Trek to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 5 hours walk


A five-hour trek takes you to Tengboche, situated at 3,870 meters (12,694 feet). This enchanting village is home to the revered Tengboche Monastery, where you can immerse yourself in the region's spiritual and cultural heritage.

Day 5

Tengboche to Pheriche (4,200m/13,776ft): 4-5 hours walk


From Tengboche, the trail leads to Pheriche, at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,776 feet). This leg of the journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, offering stunning mountain vistas along the way.

Day 6

Pheriche to Lobuche (4,930m/16,170ft): 5-6 hours walk


Lobuche, located at 4,930 meters (16,170 feet), awaits your arrival after a 5-6 hour trek from Pheriche. Prepare for increasingly dramatic landscapes and higher elevations.

Day 7

Lobuche to Gorak Shep, visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m) 6-7 hours


Today, you'll trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, then embark on a memorable visit to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters (17,598 feet). This journey spans approximately 6-7 hours, with the opportunity to witness the iconic base camp.

Day 8

Morning visit to Kala Patthar (5545m/18,192ft] and trek to Dinboche (4940m/16,207ft): 7-8 hours


Early in the morning, a visit to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters (18,192 feet) promises awe-inspiring panoramic views. Later, you'll trek to Dinboche, situated at 4,940 meters (16,207 feet), covering approximately 7-8 hours on the trail.

Day 9

Trek to Chhukung (4,730m/15,518ft): 3-4hrs

Day 10

Rest day at Chhukung

Day 11

Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5,200m), 3-4 hours


Leaving Chhukung behind, you'll trek to Island Peak Base Camp, situated at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet). This journey typically spans 3-4 hours as you draw closer to your ultimate goal.

Day 12

Island Peak Base Camp to Island Peak Summit and return to Chhukung


The pinnacle of your expedition arrives as you conquer Island Peak. Ascend to the summit and relish the breathtaking views from an altitude of 6,189 meters (20,305 feet). After achieving your goal, you'll descend to Chhukung to rest and celebrate your accomplishment.

Day 13

Trek back to Tengboche (3,860m)


Retrace your steps as you make your way back to Tengboche, located at an altitude of 3,860 meters (12,664 feet). The return journey offers a different perspective of the Himalayan landscape.

Day 14

Trek to Namche Bazaar, 4-5 hours walk


From Tengboche, trek for approximately 4-5 hours to reach the vibrant Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of this Sherpa town one more time.

Day 15

Namche to Lukla, 7-8hours walk


The penultimate day of your expedition involves a 7-8 hour trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla. Reflect on the incredible journey you've undertaken through the Khumbu region.

Lukla to Kathmandu
