Green Coast: Rio, Paraty & Ilha Grande

In the morning we will pick you up at your hotel and start our complete tour of one of the most famous cities in Brazil and probably the world!

The first stop is the summit of Corcovado, the mountain on which the Christ statue stands, which is considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world. From above we will observe the city of Carioca and this extraordinary panoramic view will leave us speechless! Then it goes to the second stage: the Sugar Loaf, a hill that we take the cable car up to.

Our complete tour of Rio de Janeiro also includes a visit to the Maracanã Stadium (from the outside), one of the most important in the world. For a long time it was the largest stadium in the world, but it owes its fame above all to the World Cup in 1950 and 2014. From the outside we will be able to remember the historic games.

Of course, the Sambodrome, the home of Samba, should not be missing on our tour. This 550 meter long open air building is home to the world famous Rio Carnival Parade, one of the most incredible parties in the world.

We will also enter the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian, one of the landmarks of the city, which is characterized by a pyramidal structure reminiscent of the typical religious buildings of pre-Columbian America. Then we will go to the city center to immerse ourselves in local culture, climb the Selarón stairs and cross the arches of Lapa on board our vehicle.

We will also be offered a buffet lunch throughout the tour of Rio de Janeiro. At the end of the tour we will bring you back to your hotel.

After breakfast, we invite you to join us in a journey back in time. This is a 4-hour tour visiting Ancient Rio and Santa Teresa!

Starting with hotel pickup, we visit the historical center of Rio. and walk around the Praça XV, Arcos dos Teles, Cinelandia (and take the opportunity to visit Colombo’s bakery) and the Arcos da Lapa.

We also visit the bucolic neighborhood of Santa Teresa with the beautiful houses of the early 20th century. 

Santa Teresa is famous for its traditional tram from 1897 and for the several painters that live there.

At the end, we take you back to your hotel.

After breakfast, a half-day tour awaits you.

On this tour through the lush Tijuca rainforest, you will visit the Chinese viewpoint with a fantastic view of Copacabana as well as Ipanema Beach, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf Mountain. With a little luck, you might see monkeys, sloths, or topical birds.

You will learn about the Taunay waterfall and visit the beautiful Mayrink Chapel.

We end our tour in the botanical garden. On an area of around 140 hectares, the botanical garden fascinates with its around 6500 plant species. The Rio Botanical Garden is one of the ten most important of its kind in the world. Some of the 128 palm trees in the main avenue "Barbosa Rodrigues" date from the time the garden was created. In addition to numerous greenhouses, orchidariums and rose gardens, a lake with giant aquatic plants, such as the largest water lily in the Amazon, "Vitória Regia", is a main attraction.

After breakfast transfer to Paraty.

In the afternoon you will get to know the center of Paraty.

Famous for its extraordinary colonial architecture, the historic district is a wonder to explore, with stone streets winding between white buildings and baroque churches. The cultural offer is not limited to the historical: Paraty is home to many creative people and entrepreneurs from all over the world, whose restaurants, galleries and shops give the city a cosmopolitan touch. Nature lovers will love the nearby reserves, parks, and mountains that surround this alluring destination.

The Schooner Cruise is the most famous tour in Paraty! Mandatory for those who want to enjoy incredible experiences on their trip and explore the most beautiful natural attractions of the region: the paradisiacal islands and beaches with calm and crystalline waters that exist in the Bay of Paraty, rich in vegetation forming beautiful scenarios, worthy of postcards and even works of art! Recommended for all ages, this tour is a must! The stops last about 30 to 40 minutes at each point (there are 4 stops in total), being the ideal moment to relax by the sea, sunbathe, dive, take a pleasant walk on the clear sands of the beaches or even stay on board the boat, enjoying the view and enjoying a drink or a delicious homemade food freshly made in our kitchen. The boats are accredited and approved by the Port Authority, are of total safety and comfort, and have a complete infrastructure for your moments of leisure.

After breakfast transfer to Ilha Grande.

The transfer is in two parts: From Paraty to Angra dos Reis and Boat to Vila do Abraão.

After breakfast at the hotel head independently to the pier in Abraão to begin a boat excursion of the island of Ilha Grande passing by Lagoa Verde, Lagoa Azul (natural aquariums), Saco do Céu, Praia do amor and Praia da Feiticeira.

During the excursion there will be a stop for a buffet lunch (not included).

The tour will last about 6 hours until late afternoon. At the end of the excursion you will be released at the pier in Abraão.

Many excursions are possible in Ilha Grande:

• Boat trip to the paradise islands of Angra dos Reis via Botinas Islands (natural aquarium), Ilha de Cataguaz (beach), Praia do dentista, Praia da Piedade and Praia das flechas.
• Lopes Mendes or Aventureiro beaches. For the sporty, we recommend the approximately 2.30-hour trek to Lopes Mendes or Aventureiro (coconut tree lying) beach, considered two of the most beautiful and heavenly beaches on the island. There are also boats in the port of Abraão that offer round-trip sea transportation to both beaches.
• Ilha Grande has some waterfalls within it, and Cachoeira da Feiticeira is the most famous and "accessible." The path to it has some steep and slippery sections. It is a 1h30 walk from Abraão, through the Aqueduct, along a relatively well-marked path. Another option is to hire a taxi-boat that will drop you off at Praia da Feiticeira, saving 30 minutes of walking.

Breakfast in the pousada and free morning. In the afternoon, please make your own way to the main dock to take the boat to Conceição de Jacarei and then a transfer return to Rio de Janeiro.

Sadly, your adventure through Brazil must come to an end today. However, you will be leaving with new and unforgettable memories and experiences! After checking out of the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport in good time to board your departure flight.
