This 5-day itinerary takes you on a journey through some of Sri Lanka's most iconic destinations. You'll discover ancient sites, cultural landmarks, picturesque towns, and stunning natural landscapes. You'll start with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Dambulla and Sigiriya. Then, you'll head to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, where you'll explore the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Kandy Lake, Kandy View Point, an evening cultural dance show and the fascinating local markets. Your journey will continue to the beautiful hill station of Nuwara Eliya, where you'll visit tea plantations, enjoy scenic views, The tour will then continue your trip in the charming town of Ella, known for its serene atmosphere, scenic views, and hiking trails. Next, you'll head to Yala National Park for a chance to see elephants, leopards, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 1

Airport - Dambulla

Arrive by flight, and you will be transferred to the arrival terminal. Will assist you as he will have a paging board with your name in the meeting area, and he will introduce you to your own English-speaking chauffeur guide.

Proceed to Dambulla and visit to The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a complex of five caves carved out of a granite rock outcrop in Sri Lanka. The temple features over 150 Buddha statues, intricate murals, and inscriptions that provide valuable historical information. It's an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

After that, proceed on a village trip to see how people really live in Sri Lanka's countryside. Then experience bullock cart rides, canoe rides, and tuk-tuk rides while having fun and learning about the villagers' traditional household appliances. Additionally, get to sample some delicious regional cuisine and see how Sri Lankan food is prepared.

After the journey, you can unwind in a pleasant hotel room and enjoy dinner with a delicious meal in Dambulla.

After the breakfast at the hotel and the day will begin with visit to the Sigiriya Lion Rock fortress. 

Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress, one of the most notable features of the fortress is the frescoes that adorn the western face of the rock. These frescoes depict beautiful women in various poses and are considered to be some of the finest examples of ancient Sri Lankan art. The fortress also includes a number of gardens and water features, including a mirror wall that was once polished to a high sheen. Sigiriya Fortress is one of Sri Lanka's most popular tourist attractions, and it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can climb to the top of the rock to explore the fortress and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding jungle and countryside. It's a fascinating glimpse into ancient Sri Lankan culture and architecture.

Then make your way to Kandy and visit to a famous Buddhist temple that holds Lord Buddha's tooth relic, which is a renowned Buddhist temple that houses Lord Buddha's tooth relic. The complex features of the temple's design, as well as the calm atmosphere that surrounds it, will surprise you. The Temple of the Tooth, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa. It is one of the most sacred temples in the country. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is visited by thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year.

Following that, visit Kandy Lake. Kandy Lake is a man-made lake located in the heart of Kandy city, Sri Lanka. It was built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, the last king of the Kandyan Kingdom. The lake covers an area of 6,544 square meters and is surrounded by a scenic walking path, parks, and trees. The lake is considered an important landmark and a popular tourist attraction in Kandy. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake, take a boat ride, or simply enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the city skyline. 

Then proceed to the Kandy View Point. The stunning view and the calm breeze that envelop the area will wow. Kandy View Point is a popular vantage point in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the city and its surroundings, including the Temple of the Tooth, the Kandy Lake, and the surrounding hills. The viewpoint is located on top of a hill and can be reached by a short hike or by taking a tuk-tuk. The best time to visit is during sunset or sunrise when the view is especially stunning. Kandy View Point is a great spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers, and it provides a unique perspective on the beauty of Kandy.

Next visit to a Kandy cultural dance performance in the evening, where will get to see the vivacious traditional dances and music of Sri Lanka. The Kandy cultural dance is characterized by colorful costumes, intricate footwork, rhythmic drumming, and the use of props such as fire torches, masks, and swords. It is performed in groups by both male and female dancers during cultural festivals, weddings, and special occasions, and is an important part of Sri Lankan culture, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

After that, you can stay the night and enjoy a delicious meal at a hotel in Kandy.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Ambuluwawa, which is a hilltop destination in Sri Lanka with a 360-degree view tower, mini zoo, butterfly garden, meditation center, pagoda, and traditional Sri Lankan village. It is home to diverse flora and fauna and has a restaurant and guesthouse on top of the hill. It is a popular spot for photography and nature walks.

Leave Kandy and go to Nuwara Eliya, a quaint hill station nestled among Sri Lanka's breathtakingly stunning tea plantations. 

Following that, visit a tea factory with a tea plantation, where you can learn about the tea production process and have the opportunity to taste some wonderful tea. The exquisite tea estates that cover the hills, as well as the stunning views that surround them, will take your breath away.

Also go to a Hindu temple, which is a revered place of devotion known for its magnificent architecture and tranquil environment. Learn about Sri Lanka's rich cultural legacy and the importance of Hinduism in the country.

Stop along the journey to see the Ramboda Waterfalls, a spectacular waterfall that cascades down from the mountains, surrounded by rich foliage and breathtaking landscapes. Ramboda Falls is 109 m high, the eleventh tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka, and the 729th tallest waterfall in the world. It is situated in the Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. The waterfall is formed by the Panna Oya, which is a tributary of the Kothmale Oya.

As the day comes to an end, make your way to the hotel in Nuwara Eliya, where you will spend the night and enjoy a delicious dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart Nuwara Eliya and proceed to Ella. 

Before leaving, go to Gregory Lake, an attractive lake surrounded by lush hills. Gregory Lake is a man-made lake located in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. It was built during the British colonial period and is named after Sir William Gregory. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride, walk around the scenic path, or enjoy the panoramic views. It is a popular tourist attraction in Nuwara Eliya.

Travel on the train from Nanu Oya to Ella in the evening, which is regarded as one of the most scenic train excursions in the world. The train excursion will take you through Sri Lanka's rich tea plantations and stunning scenery.

Arrive in Ella in the evening and come into hotel for the night and enjoy a delicious dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel, begin the day in Ella by visiting Nine Arch Bridge, Ravan's Fall, and Little Adam's Peak. These locations have stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. 

Visit Little Adam's Peak, a small mountain located in Ella, Sri Lanka. It is approximately 1,141 meters high and is named after the larger Adam's Peak due to its similar shape. Visitors can enjoy a scenic hike to the top of the mountain, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and tea plantations. The hike is relatively easy and takes around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the pace. Little Adam's Peak is a popular tourist attraction in Ella and is a must-visit for those who enjoy hiking and nature.

Visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge, an impressive structure surrounded by lush hills and tea plantations. Nine Arch Bridge is a well-known Ella monument famed for its spectacular architecture and picturesque surroundings. Take a walk along the bridge and capture images of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Then visit to The Ravana Falls are located in the misty mountains of Ella, Sri Lanka, along the road. The water gushes down from a height of 25 meters, falling from an oval, concave rock. Ravana Falls is a 3-tier cascading waterfall that creates rock pools along its way down. During the wet season, Ravana Falls takes the form of a drooping areca flower, but its width is reduced dramatically during the dry season. Although it is always worth it to check out this waterfall when you're in Ella, it’s one of the easiest accessible waterfalls in Sri Lanka. So here is all the information you need before you visit Ravana Falls, Ella.

Following that, travel to Yala National Park, which is the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka and is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and various bird species.
