Itinerary

Everest Base Camp Trek is a wonderful adventure to the base of the Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world. This adventure trekking is one of the most famous trekking trips in the world.

Experience the mountain madness through the well-trodden trail that leads you to the base of the highest mountain in the world. You will also explore the Sherpa cultural wonders in the region. Knowing the life of the famous mountain climbing tribe of the Sherpa is surely an experience of a lifetime. While you are on the trek, you will get to enjoy some of the best views on earth in the form of gigantic mountains. The peaceful trail that passes through lush nature and later wonderful mountainous surroundings offer an amazing experience of adventure travel.

Tour program

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

We will welcome you at the Tribhuvan International airport on your arrival. Later, we will transfer you to the hotel where we will have a trip briefing meeting after checking in. You can take some time to freshen up before we meet for the trip briefing.

Day 2

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610m) - B.L.D

It is our first day in the mountain and the trekking. But before we start the trek we have a beautiful and adventurous flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest. After flying to Lukla, we get ready to trek to Phakding. The first day of trek introduces us with the Dudh Koshi river valley wonders in the Everest region. 

Our overnight destination, Phakding, is about four hours walk from Lukla along the river valley. We settle into a guesthouse and enjoy the beauty of surroundings. 

Day 3

Trek to Namche (3,440m) - B.L.D

We enter the Sagarmatha National Park on our trek to Namche today. It is an uphill walk for more or less six hours along the river valley with the view of fascinating surroundings. The trail takes us through beautiful places and across several suspension bridges over the river. 

We eventually reach Namche Bazar where we stay our overnight today.

Day 4

Acclimatization Day - B.L.D

It is our acclimatization day today. We will take an acclimatization hike to the Everest view point or any other surrounding destination. Our overnight stay will be at the same guest house in Namche bazar.

Day 5

Trek to Tengboche (3,860m) - B.L.D

Our trekking for the day takes us to Tengboche to stay overnight. We will trek through beautiful natural scenic landscapes to reach the destination. The view of surrounding mountains and landscapes offer a wonderful experience of walking through the mountains. 

We will eventually reach Tengboche village that welcomes us with its magnificent beauty. The village has a beautiful monastery that we can explore after we check into our guest house. 

Day 6

Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) - B.L.D

Our adventure walk towards the Everest base camp continues to the beautiful village of Dingboche today. The walk takes us past Pangboche village. We will also  get to enjoy the wonders of the beautiful surroundings. The view of mountains and dramatic landscapes makes our walk an incredible experience. Dingboche village eventually welcomes us with magnificently beautiful surroundings.

Day 7

Acclimatization Day - B.L.D

It is another day of acclimatization on the adventure. We need to take enough days to acclimatize along the way. We go for another day of the beautiful hiking adventure in the surroundings. Later, we return back to Dingboche village to stay overnight. 

Day 8

Trek to Lobuche (4,910m) - B.L.D

We continue the adventure heading towards Lobuche to stay overnight today. The landscapes get even more dramatic with glacial moraine and boulder filled trails leading us higher and deeper into the mountains. We eventually reach Lobuche and find the comfort of our guest house to relax. 

Day 9

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) via Gorakshep (5,164m) - B.L.D

Although our overnight destination is Gorakshep, we will reach the ultimate destination of the trip - the Everest Base Camp. Before reaching the base camp, we will check into our guest house in Gorakshep. It will be an exciting walk to the base of the highest mountain in the world. We will spend some wonderful time at the base cam; take pictures; celebrate the moment before returning back to Gorakshep. 

Day 10

Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545m) and Trek to Pheriche (4,317m) - B.L.D

We will reach the highest elevation on the adventure. The early morning hike to Kalapatthar takes you to the elevation of 5,545 meters above sea level. We are going to see some of the most stunning views of the mountains in addition to a beautiful sunrise. 

Later, we trek back to Gorakshep and further down to Pheriche to stay overnight.

Day 11

Trek to Namche (3,950m) - B.L.D

After spending wonderful time at the base camp and Kalapatthar, we are on our journey back. The day walk today takes us back to the civilization of Namche Bazar. Although a long walking day, it will be a quite fascinating walk. We will spend overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 12

Trek to Lukla (2,860m) - B.L.D

We are on the last day of the trek that takes us back to Lukla via Phakding. A wonderful walking adventure to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world has come to an end. We celebrate the moment of joy that the trek has given us. 

Day 13

Fly to Kathmandu (1,360m) - B

We are going to leave the beautiful mountains behind today when we fly back to Kathmandu. We will have our day at leisure in Kathmandu once we reach there. 

Day 14

Departure Day - B

We will transfer you to the airport as per the schedule of your departure flight. We hope that you had an awesome time on the adventure with us.

Booking Terms and Conditions before January 13, 2026


Booking of a Trip

To ensure the booking of a trip with us, you will have to deposit 20% of the total cost in our bank account. We will forward you our bank details when you are ready to book. Once we receive the deposit, we will confirm your booking for you desired trip.

The balance amount of the trip is payable upon your arrival in Kathmandu on the first day.

Payment

While you can bank transfer on pay online the advance deposit, the balance can be paid either in cash or by card on the first day of the trip in Kathmandu. We accept cash in USD or other convertible currency and also the payment by visa or master cards.

Travelers Cheque, however, is not accepted.

Trip Cancellation

The trip once booked is guaranteed to depart. But Approved Holidays reserves all rights to cancel the trip without prior consent of the client. However, there is less chance of cancellation from our side unless we go through any unforeseeable and uncontrollable situation like natural disasters and troubles. 

We will inform you of any such situation and discuss with you to plan the trip for some next possible date. But if you do not want to continue in such situation, we will refund you the deposited amount which may take some time because of our current banking policy. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in such situation.

But if you cancel the trip, for any reason, we will not be able to refund you the deposited amount. If there appears the situation where you will not be able to travel as scheduled, you can definitely talk to us to postpone the trip for another date. We will schedule the trip for another date for the same deposited amount. However the total cost of the trip may differ depending upon the time of the year that you postpone the trip to. The difference in cost is just a possibility.

Travel Insurance

Insuring you travel is for your convenience and safety. Travel Insurance can prove highly helpful and beneficial in time of need, especially while you are travelling. We highly recommend that you buy a travel insurance policy before you travel to Nepal on any of our trip. While most of our holidays are soft adventures indulging in culture, nature, and spirituality, you may like to enjoy some optional adventure activities. 

Having travel insurance will keep you comfortable in time of need. To cover you against your possible accident, death, sickness, evacuation, repatriation, loss of your luggage etc., you will need to buy an insurance that covers all these categories.

Itinerary

While our itineraries are customizable before the time of booking, we will not be able to bring major changes on it once the trip is confirmed and is near to the departure date. However, we will try our best to do whatever we can to change it to suit your interest if there is any need to do so. But we cannot guarantee that the major changes can take place. 

We operate our tours in association with other local partners like hotels, airlines, buses and other service providers. And any major changes that you request near the departure date are the subject to availability.

When you book a tour with us, you fully understand and acknowledge that you are taking up this tour on your own risk. 

Approved Holidays offers tours in the safest mode possible with the best care. However, for any unfortunate situation, despite our attempts to avoid any such, Approved Holidays will not be held responsible.

Booking Terms and Conditions as of January 13, 2026


Approved Holidays is a dependable and trustworthy government-registered travel and trekking company in Nepal dedicated to offering the best possible services to our customers. To ameliorate the country’s tourism sector, much effort is put into making our rendering of services at a level that exceeds the rest. Our customer’s satisfaction and happiness are our foremost priority. Please go through our terms and conditions carefully before booking your trip with us! These terms and conditions are effective from the date you booked the trip us: 


GENERAL BOOKING CONDITIONS

For Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan Tours. A photocopy of your passport and a 20% deposit of the total cost of the trip should be provided to us by you while booking the trip. The 20% deposit amount is non-refundable once you have made the down payment for the trip. The deposit will be considered as a trip cancellation fee if you cancel your trip on any day after booking the trip with us. The remaining amount can be paid upon your arrival in Kathmandu before you set out for your trek/tour. 

Note: In Bhutan and Tibet tours, you need to pay the balance amount 20 days before your departure date if you intend to fly to those countries directly. We reserve our right to cancel your trip if you could not make your payment within our stipulated time. 


LAST-MINUTE BOOKING 

We even accept the last-minute booking. You can book a trip to Nepal 1 days before the trip departure dates. However, last-minute bookings may not be acceptable in the case of the Bhutan or Tibet trips. 


POSTPONE THE TRIP 

Written notice should be sent to us if you cannot travel on the allocated days due to any reason. 


CANCELLATION POLICY 

If you cancel your trip, please be informed that the 20% deposit you made upon booking the trip with us will be considered as a trip cancellation fee. And this policy is effectively applicable right after you confirmed your booking with us. The 20% deposit is non-refundable. 

The following cancellation charges will apply if a confirmed booking is cancelled: 

46 days or more before the trip departure date: 

30% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee. 

45 to 31 days before the trip departure date: 

40% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee. 

30 to 15 days before the trip departure date: 

60% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee. 

14 days or less before the trip departure date: 

100% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.


And if you have paid more than the trip deposit, we shall reduce the 20% trip deposit from that amount, and the remaining balance will be refunded to you via the original payment method. 


ITINERARY 

All our tours run on the basis of the itinerary included. However, in unforeseen circumstances, there may be a need to change the itinerary during your tour. In such a case the guide has sole discretion. if he/she deems it necessary for the safety of travellers and the crew members. 


COST INCLUSION 

All our tours have a section that clearly mentions what is included in the cost of your tour and what is not. Please read the “Includes and Excludes” section carefully before booking. All the expenses incurred by you other than mentioned in the itinerary will be your responsibility. 


RISK AND LIABILITIES 

All of the Nepal, China, and Bhutan tours are conducted under the strict rules and regulations of the tourism board of the respective country. We are not liable for any changes or cancellations of the trip under unavoidable circumstances like change in the rules and regulations of the country, any government restrictions, natural disasters, political instability, cancellations of flights, delays, sickness or accidents, breakdown of vehicles, etc. Any extra cost incurred due to such circumstances shall have to be borne by the clients themselves. Therefore, travel insurance is highly recommended. 


INCOMPLETE TOUR 

We are not liable for any refunds in case of any incomplete tour, trek, or expedition, whatever the reason from the customer’s side. 


UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES 

If your trip gets cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances like natural disasters, war, or unfavourable climatic conditions, we will arrange another trip for you. So even if your trip won’t be the one you had chosen, your money will not go in vain. 


TRAVEL INSURANCE 

It is mandatory to have a comprehensive travel insurance package for all our clients to join any of our adventures. The insurance must cover all the medical expenses, personal accidents, emergency evacuations, trip cancellations, loss of gears and natural calamity, theft of or damage to baggage, and personal effects. 


FLIGHT DELAY/CANCELLATION 

Flight delays and cancellations are likely to happen often during bad weather conditions in remote areas, particularly in the Everest region, the Annapurna region, Dolpo, Simikot, and Jumla region. Therefore, it is advisable to carry some extra money to buy food and accommodations in case of delays. Approved Holidays will not be responsible for any of the additional expenses. Therefore, please plan accordingly. 


DURING THE TOUR 

If you commit any unlawful act during your tour and are compelled to leave Nepal, Approved Holidays is not liable for any refunds.


WARNING

Our terms and conditions are applicable only if you book your trip with us directly. If you book your trip with us through any agents or third party, you shall be liable to their terms and conditions. 


PRIVACY POLICY 

We will collect your contact details at the time of your booking which, you fully acknowledge, we will use it for contacting you and sending you information related to the tour. You also acknowledge that we may use your email address to send you our special discount offers and other promotional materials in the future. However, all the information you provide to us will not be disclosed to any third party except our affiliated service providers like airlines, hotels and government authorities at the time of your tour operates. ­

Tour Details

Accommodation

Two nights (double / twin sharing beds) accommodation with breakfast at a 3-star category (Simal Hotel or similar) hotel in Kathmandu.

Best available twin sharing lodge / tea house to lodge accommodation during the trek, we provide you attached bathroom with a hot shower at Lukla, Phakding, and Namche.

In a teahouse, travellers are provided with small twin share rooms with twin beds, mattresses and pillows. At times, in high seasons, and in places where there are limited number of teahouses, travellers may have to make do with dormitories. In some places, teahouses don't have access to electricity, depending on solar powered lighting instead.

Other activities and services are not included. 

Flights

Flight to Lukla and back to Kathmandu 

Note: Flight can be Cancelled depending upon the weather situation in Lukla. Helicopter can be dispatched with the extra charges.

Additional Services

The following inclusions are provided as part of the itinerary:

1. Airport and hotel transfers: Private vehicle transfers will be arranged for your arrival and departure, and transfers between the airport and your hotel in Kathmandu.

2. Duffle bag, sleeping bag, and down jacket: These essential trekking gear will be provided for your use during the trek. The duffle bag can carry your belongings, and the sleeping bag and down jacket will keep you warm and comfortable at higher altitudes.

3. Sagarmatha National Park Permits fee: The cost of permits to enter and trek in the Sagarmatha National Park, which is a protected area, is included in the package.

4. TIMS Fee: The Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) fee is included. Please bring two passport-size photos with you, as they will be required for the permit.

5. Search and Rescue Arrangement: In the worst-case scenario, where search and rescue operations are required, arrangements will be made with an insurance company to ensure your safety.


6. Applicable Government Taxes and Service Charges: All applicable government taxes and service charges are included in the package.


7. Salary, food, drinks, accommodation, transportation and insurance for the guide and porters.  


These inclusions aim to provide a smooth and hassle-free trekking experience in the Everest region.

Additional Services

The following items are not included in the package:

1. Nepal Visa and International Airfares: The cost of obtaining a Nepal visa and your international airfare to and from Nepal is not included. You will need to arrange and cover these expenses on your own.

2. Excess Baggage Charges: If your baggage exceeds the allowed weight limit (usually 10 to 12 kg per person for domestic flights in Nepal), you may be subject to excess baggage charges. These charges are not included in the package and will need to be paid by you directly to the airline.

3. Meals not specified in the itinerary: While breakfast, lunch, and dinner are specified as included meals in the itinerary, any additional meals or snacks outside of these specified meals are not included. You will be responsible for covering the cost of these meals.

4. Hot Shower during the Trek (except for Phakding, Namche, and Lukla): The cost of hot showers during the trek, except for the accommodations in Phakding, Namche, and Lukla where they are available, is not included. You may need to pay an additional fee for hot showers at other locations.


5. Hot and Cold Drinks: The cost of hot and cold drinks, including beverages like Coke, water, Fanta, tea, coffee etc., is not included in the package. You will need to purchase these separately during the trek.


6. Snacks and Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses such as snacks, souvenirs, additional drinks, or other personal items are not included in the package. You will need to budget for these expenses separately.


7. Tips and Gratuities: Tips and gratuities for the trekking staff (guides, porters, etc.) and drivers are not included in the package. Giving tips as a token of appreciation for their services is customary, and the amount is at your discretion.


Please make sure to budget for these expenses not covered in the package.

We provide one porter for every two trekkers to fairly distribute loads and maintain responsible trekking practices.

For solo trekkers, we arrange a guide-cum-porter, ensuring personalized support while maintaining efficiency and safety on the trail.
