Day 1

Arrival in Amman

Take the plane across the Mediterranean towards Amman. Welcome to the Orient! (A)

Day 2

Amman: City tour and desert castles

The desert on one side and the fertile Jordan Valley on the other. This fascinating city is full of contrasts and is a perfect blend of old and new. We take a closer look at the traditional city center: the King Abdullah Mosque, the Roman Theatre and the Citadel Hill. Jewelry and household goods are made and sold at the colorful bazaar. In the afternoon, you have the option of heading into the desert! Countless historical ruins lie to the east of the city: castles, fortresses, caravan bases and palaces converted into fortresses ─ the traditional desert castles! Day 3

Ancient Gerasa

A perfect start to the day: we visit the city of Jerash, ancient Gerasa! It is the best-preserved ruins in the Middle East. We stroll through the magnificent colonnaded street with hundreds of columns and marvel at the art of the architects of the time. Ajlun Castle is also a fine example of Islamic architecture. The fortress dominated large stretches of the northern Jordan Valley. 260 km (F, A)

From Amman to the Dead Sea

From Amman to Petra

On our way to Petra, we pass the Crusader castle in Shobak. We take a closer look at the fortress! Magnificent views of Jordan's diverse landscape await us as we drive south. We stop for a typical cardamom coffee in the middle of nature, close our eyes and look forward to the highlight of the day: we reach the pink rock city of Petra. The scent of oriental spices fills our nostrils in the evening. During a traditional cooking course, we learn exciting things about Jordanian cuisine and enjoy the taste of it after the work is done. From Petra to Aqaba

Goodbye, Petra! Hello, Wadi Rum! With valleys and high, weathered sandstone mountains, we have arrived in a fairytale landscape. Even Lawrence of Arabia could not escape this magic. We explore the area by off-road vehicle! At lunchtime, we fortify ourselves with a traditional meal with Bedouins. Here, our delicacy is cooked in a pot under the ground ─ we enjoy it! We continue to Aqaba on the Red Sea! Here you will find the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the world. Whether you relax on the beach or by the hotel pool ─ you decide! 180 km (F, M, A)

Day 8

Sunshine galore on the Red Sea

Spend a wonderful day under the Jordanian sun! How about a stroll through Aqaba's traditional market? You can haggle to your heart's content in the free trade zone. Get to know Aqaba's underwater world on an exploration tour by glass-bottom boat (bookable on site). (F, A)

Day 9

Return flight or more vacation?

The sun rises, it's goodbye! You drive to the airport and travel back home. Still staying? Enjoy sunny days on the Red Sea! (F)
