Day Plan: Arrival in Sri Lanka

Upon your arrival at Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), your tour leader will greet you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Alternatively, we can pick you up from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo.

Your adventure begins in Sigiriya,  you’ll begin a scenic drive through the picturesque Sri Lankan countryside toward Dambulla, located at the heart of the island’s renowned Cultural Triangle.

Upon arrival in Dambulla, check in to your hotel and unwind with a relaxing evening by the pool or take a tranquil walk surrounded by nature.

DAY PLAN: 

Early in the morning, you’ll visit the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the island’s most treasured landmarks. Built by King Kasyapa (477–495 AD), this ancient citadel rises dramatically from the jungle and features intricate frescoes, royal gardens, and stunning panoramic views from the summit. Late afternoon is the perfect time to climb, as the golden hour bathes the landscape in magical light an unforgettable sight.

Afternoon, you’ll embark on an authentic cultural village tour, offering a unique glimpse into traditional Sri Lankan life. Your journey begins with a tuk-tuk ride and a serene catamaran boat ride across a scenic lake, leading you to a local farmer’s home. There, you'll witness a live Sri Lankan curry cooking demonstration and enjoy a hearty homemade meal featuring authentic countryside flavors.

Journey to Kandy – The Cultural Heart of Sri Lanka

After breakfast, set off towards Kandy, the historic capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. Nestled on a plateau surrounded by lush mountains, Kandy is famed for its tea plantations, bio-diverse rainforests, and revered Buddhist landmarks, including the iconic Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Morning Exploration: Dambulla Royal Cave Temple

Your first stop will be the Royal Cave Temple and Golden Buddha Statue in Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched atop a 160-meter-high rock, this site is home to Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex. Explore the five intricately decorated cave temples, showcasing remarkable historical paintings and sculptures that hold immense cultural and religious significance.

Afternoon: Arrival in Kandy and Sacred Temple Visit

Upon arrival in Kandy, you’ll visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This sacred temple is revered as one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world and houses a relic believed to be a tooth of the Buddha.

Exploring the Tea Region – Nuwara Eliya, “Little England”

After breakfast, embark on a scenic journey through Sri Lanka’s lush green tea plantations and cascading waterfalls toward the charming hill town of Nuwara Eliya. Known as “Little England,” this picturesque city showcases enduring British colonial architecture, with landmarks like the Queen’s Cottage, General’s House, Grand Hotel, Hill Club, and the iconic Town Post Office.

Morning: Gem Museum and Peradeniya Royal Garden

Continue to the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, regarded as one of Asia’s finest. Explore its sprawling landscapes, vibrant flora, and a collection of rare plant species.

Afternoon: Tea Plantation and Factory Visit

As you ascend the cold, misty hills, stop at a Tea Plantation and Factory to experience the rich traditions of Ceylon tea production. Witness the intricate process of tea-making and savor a freshly brewed cup of premium Ceylon tea at the end of your visit.

Evening: Strolling Through Nuwara Eliya

Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, take a leisurely walk through the city center, exploring its British colonial-era landmarks like the Post Office and Grand Hotel. Stroll through Victoria Park and immerse yourself in the lively ambiance of the fruit and vegetable market.

Picturesque Train Ride and Journey to Yala National Park

Morning: Scenic Train Journey to Ella (Optional Activity)

Afternoon: Continue to Yala National Park

After exploring Ella, proceed to Yala National Park, the largest and most spectacular wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka. Famous for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, Yala promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of nature.

Morning: Safari at Yala National Park

Start your day early, taking advantage of the cool, misty morning air for a thrilling wildlife safari at Yala National Park. Board a 4x4 jeep and embark on a game drive through this renowned sanctuary. Keep an eye out for leopards lounging on tree branches, crocodiles patrolling the waterways, and wild elephants enjoying a drink by the river under the golden morning sunlight.

Afternoon: En Route to the South Coast

After your safari, continue your journey to Sri Lanka’s world-famous southern beachside. On the way, make a stop at Coconut Tree Hill in Mirissa, a picturesque spot with swaying palm trees and breathtaking coastal views perfect for memorable photographs.

Next Day early In the Morning, set off on a thrilling whale watching excursion (Seasonal). Hop aboard a boat and venture into the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean in search of majestic blue whales, playful dolphins, and other marine life. Please note that whale watching is seasonal and optional, depending on ocean conditions and migration patterns.

After breakfast, continue your journey along Sri Lanka’s scenic southern coastline, where history, culture, and natural beauty blend seamlessly. Today you'll explore colonial Galle, meet sea turtles, visit the Capital city of Sri Lanka, and settle into the tranquil beaches of Negombo.

Upon arrival in Galle, step into a bygone era as you walk through the historic Galle Fort. Originally built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch, this beautifully preserved fort boasts cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, boutique cafes, and art galleries all set against a backdrop of the Indian Ocean. Don't miss the iconic Galle Lighthouse, proudly standing at the southeastern edge of the fort.

Afterwards, visit a Turtle Hatchery Centre, where injured sea turtles are rehabilitated and baby turtles are nurtured before being safely released into the ocean. It’s an inspiring glimpse into Sri Lanka’s conservation efforts and marine life.

Afterwards, begin your final day with a visit to Colombo, the vibrant capital of Sri Lanka. With a history dating back to the 5th century, Colombo has long served as a vital hub in East–West sea trade. Today, it is a thriving cosmopolitan city that blends modern style with colonial charm, bustling markets, and cultural landmarks.

On arrival in Colombo, embark on a sightseeing tour covering the city's most iconic attractions, including:

• Red Mosque – A striking architectural landmark in the heart of Pettah.
• Gangaramaya Temple – A blend of traditional and modern Buddhist architecture, rich in cultural and religious significance.
• Independence Memorial Hall – A historic site commemorating Sri Lanka’s independence from British rule.
• Modern city highlights – Including Galle Face Green, colonial buildings, and upscale shopping malls for last-minute souvenirs.
