Upon arrival at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your tour guide and driver. From the airport, you’ll be transferred into the city of Siem Reap. During the drive, your guide will share insights about the city’s culture, history, and the daily life of its people.

Visit to Tonle Sap Lake & Flaoting Village: 

In the afternoon, head to Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Recognized by UNESCO as a natural biosphere reserve in 1997, Tonle Sap is home to vibrant floating villages. Board a local boat to explore the lake and witness life on the water, houses built on boats and bamboo rafts, floating schools, markets, and freshwater mangroves that surround the area.

City Exploration

Morning: Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide and driver will take you to explore the Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning over 401 square kilometers and home to more than 250 ancient temples. Begin your tour at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire. Inside the city walls, visit:

• Bayon Temple: known for its iconic towers with smiling stone faces
• Baphuon Temple: a massive pyramid-style temple mountain
• Phimeanakas: a Hindu temple within the Royal Palace enclosure
• Terrace of the Elephants: once used for royal ceremonies and public events
• Terrace of the Leper King: named for its enigmatic statue and intricate carvings

Continue to Ta Prohm, the famous “jungle temple” still partially overgrown with massive tree roots. This photogenic site was featured in the Tomb Raider movie.

Lunch Break: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near the temple complex.

Afternoon: Angkor Wat and Sunset

After lunch, visit Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of Khmer architecture and the largest religious monument in the world. This majestic temple is not only a wonder of the ancient world but also the national symbol of Cambodia, featured on its flag.

Morning: Banteay Srei and Local Village Visit

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and depart for a visit to Banteay Srei, often called the “Crown Jewel of Khmer Art.” This intricately carved temple, built from rose and pink sandstone, stands out for its fine details and small-scale elegance.

On the way, stop at a traditional Khmer village. Here, you’ll see traditional stilt houses and learn how locals produce palm sugar, using age-old techniques passed down through generations.

Late Morning to Early Afternoon: Preah Khan and Pre Rup

Continue your exploration with a visit to:

• Preah Khan: a sprawling temple complex once used as a monastery and university, full of quiet corners and ancient corridors.
• Pre Rup: a temple mountain known for its symmetry and views, once believed to be used for royal cremations.
