Itinerary

We invite you to Experience Addo Elephant National Park with its friendly Elephants and the rest of the Big 5. Explore the Garden Route, Route 62 and the Cape Winelands. Join our awesome private / small group 6 day tour with overnight stays in Addo, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and the Winelands.

View Whales and dolphins in Plettenberg Bay. Stroll along pristine beaches with no other footprints – only the endangered Oystercatcher. Visit ancient forests where elusive wild elephants and leopards lurk in the shadows. See Giant Yellowwood trees at Natures Valley. Drive through the Cape Floral Kingdom of Fynbos and Proteas.

Take a boat cruise to the stunning Knysna Heads and delight in the shopping and fine culinary delights at the Knysna Waterfront. Experience the spectacular Cango Caves and the comical Ostrich. Taste oysters and some of the regions finest wines and fresh juices. Visit scenic wine estates and taste some of their fine wines.

The tour is conducted by an experienced chauffeur driver/ guide / host who will remain with you throughout the tour. Luxury accommodation is in four star Guest Houses, Lodges or Apartments and includes daily breakfasts. Also included are Dinners, Lunches and entry fees to Activities & Attractions as per itinerary. A minimum of 2 travelers is required for this tour to take place.

Optional: Stay with us an extra night and visit the Cape of Good Hope, the Penguin Colony, Chapmans Peak Drive and Table Mountain.

Day 1

Port Elizabeth

Chauffeur Drive Tour: Begin your private or small group / family tour with a minimum of 2 guests and a max of 7. Your guide will take you to a number of attractions which are included in your tour. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy some optional activities such as boat cruises.

Departure is from Port Elizabeth Airport or Hotel from 09h00 - 10h00. Transfer to the Addo Elephant Park Region. Enjoy a s full day safari in our own vehicle. We spend an unforgettable time in the park teeming with wildlife. Addo offers viewing of some of Africa's most impressive animals, including elephant, lion, buffalo, black rhino, leopard, kudu, a great variety of other antelope species, as well as birds, plants, insects and reptiles. Accommodation is in the Addo Rest Camp Chalets or nearby Private Lodge.

Day 2

Explore the Garden Route

After breakfast we take the road towards the Garden Route. Follow the coastal road winding its way along river gorges, over breathtaking mountain passes and through dense indigenous forests. Our exploration of this ancient forest includes a drive through Natures Valley, which winds its way through the tangle of trees, ferns and creepers to massive Outeniqua Yellowwood trees. Enjoy a short hike in the forest before heading down to the beach for a swim and lunch. (Included) En route guests may choose an Optional visit to Monkeyland or the Birds Of Eden. (At own Cost) We pass through Plettenberg Bay to Knysna. Here guests may enjoy an optional yacht or boat sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Accommodation is in the Knysna Quays or a Guest House overlooking the Lagoon.

Day 3

Knysna & Surrounding Area

After breakfast we visit the Knysna Region. Explore the Knysna Heads, Coney Glen Beach, Brenton and Buffalo Bay. A forest hike is also available. The afternoon is free for optional activities such as Whale Watching or the popular Knysna Township Trail.

Day 4

The Klein Karoo Experience

After Breakfast there is time for a look at the arts and crafts market before we depart for Oudtshoorn. Our first stop is the Cango Caves.

Visit one of the great wonders of Africa - the subterranean wonderland of the Cango Caves for a tour of this vast sequence of caverns, each filled with astonishing formations of glittering dripstones. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

Day 5

The Cape Winelands

We begin the day with a stop at an Ostrich Ranch where flocks of these strange birds are kept. We are shown their development from the egg to the 100 kg adult. We continue driving along the Route 62. The drive takes us through some wonderful mountain scenery and small rural villages until we reach the Cape Winelands.

Enjoy a stop for lunch and a wine tasting (Included) before checking in to our accommodation situated in the Winelands.

Day 6

Stellenbosch and Cape Town

We visit Stellenbosch where guests are taken on a tour of a wine cellar and enjoy an optional wine tasting. We stop at Spier Estate for another Wine Tasting and a Lunch Platter. (Included) Continue on to Cape Town arriving at 14h00 - 15h00.

Tour Ends

Guests have an option of extending the tour by one extra day in order to visit the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Penguin Colony, Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak and Table Mountain.
