9 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Wildlife & Culture Tour

This 9-day journey across Rwanda combines wildlife, culture, history, and daily life experiences. You will travel through Kigali, the Virunga volcano region, countryside villages, and the shores of Lake Kivu while meeting local communities and exploring Rwanda’s most important parks.

Your trip typically begins in Kigali, where you visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, and city viewpoints. From here you continue north to Volcanoes National Park for mountain gorilla trekking, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife encounters. You may also add golden monkey tracking, a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, or community walks around the park.

The journey then takes you toward the countryside and the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, offering scenic drives, photography opportunities, and interaction with fishermen and rural families.

In Musanze, you experience local culture through village visits, traditional performances, and small community enterprises. Depending on your interests and fitness level, you can hike forest trails or explore lava caves.
