Your English-speaking guide and an experienced driver will meet you up at the airport (MEX) on time. Then you will be sent to your hotel by around 30 minutes' drive.

Start your tour at the Zocalo. Your guide will lead you to see the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace (Palacio Nacional). You will also take a look at the exterior of the Templo Mayor. Afterwards, we will depart for Coyoacan, a beautiful and historic neighborhood in Mexico City. You will firstly have a guided walking tour to the Frida Kahlo Museum (the Blue House). Next, after visiting the Leon Trotsky’s House Museum, drive you back to your hotel at the end of the afternoon.

In the morning we will drive about 1 hour to Teotihuacan, and visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the way. Upon reaching, let’s climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun, where you can see the whole of Teotihuacan. Walking north along the Avenue of the Dead from the Pyramid of the Sun, we can reach the Pyramid of the Moon at its northernmost point. Afterwards, we will visit a carved obsidian workshop where you could learn about the history and significance of obsidian, and observe the carving process, etc. After the visit, we will head for Puebla which takes about 2 hours.

You will visit the historic city center of Puebla in the morning. You will be accompanied by your guide to walk and discover the Rosary Chapel (Capilla del Rosario), Church of Santo Domingo, the Zocalo, and the Alley of the Frogs (Barrio de los Sapos). Then visit the Archaeological Site of Monte Alban. From there, we can overlook a breathtaking view of the valley, and see ball game venues, magnificent temples, tombs and reliefs with hieroglyphic inscriptions.
In the afternoon, we will head to Oaxaca and explore some of the most famous spots in the Historic Centre of Oaxaca: the Zocalo Square, Church and Convent of Santo Domingo of Guzman, and House of Juarez Site Museum (Museo de Sitio Casa de Juarez). Finally we will drive to Oaxaca and stay overnight.

In the morning, we will head to El Tule, 10 kilometers from Oaxaca city. There is a huge cypress tree, holding the record for the widest trunk in the world. Then, head to the village of Teotitlan del Valle to discover Oaxaca’s handicrafts, where we’ll meet a family of weavers and discover the techniques they use to naturally dye their textiles, as well as their skills in spinning and weaving.
Later visit Mitla, which were first built around 100 AD and gradually developed into sacrificial centers in the 9th to 12th centuries. People held bloody sacrifices to the gods and other religious ceremonies there, thus known as the "land of the dead". While walking on the town's stone roads, you can see various colonial-style churches and the surrounding ancient ruins. After the visit, we continue from 1600 meters height through the isthmus downwards to Tehuantepec.

Leaving Tehuantepec, we will drive 4.5 hours through Tuxtla Gutierrez to Sumidero Canyon. It will be an unforgettable memory to take a boat to travel among the steep cliffs up to 1,000 meters high in Sumidero Canyon. This is a 2 to 3 hours’ shared boat trip. After landing, we will drive about 2 hours to San Cristobal de las Casas in the afternoon.

Embark on a guided walking tour of San Cristobal de las Casas in the morning, and immerse yourself in the charm of this romantic town. Wander through the narrow, cobbled pedestrian street - Calle Real de Guadalupe and marvel at the brightly colored houses, and visit the Santo Domingo Church with its large open-air crafts market.
★ Special Arrangement: Tzotzil Family Visit with Afternoon Tea
Afterwards, we will drive about 20 minutes to visit the communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan. A friendly Tzotzil family in Zinacantan will welcome you into their home, so that you can learn about their traditional way of life, particularly the art of weaving. Drive back to San Cristobal de las Casas at the end of the day.

After breakfast, we will leave the Chiapas Mountains area and travel through the green valley to the jungle of Palenque, with a total of 6-hour drive. We will stop by the beautiful Agua Azul Waterfalls on the way for a break. You can bathe and swim in the water to relax yourself. Upon arrival in Palenque, check into the hotel.

In the morning, your tour guide will take you to visit the Palenque ruins, a group of historic spots surrounded by tropical rain forests, including pyramids and temples to understand mysterious Mayan history. In the afternoon we will drive about 5 hours to Campeche. You can move freely in the rest of the day after checking into the hotel. There is an old district near the bay in the city, which retains many colorful buildings of past time. It is suggested that you go there and have a look around if time permits.

After breakfast, we will set off for Merida, the capital of Yucatan State, with a 3-hour drive. Merida is also known as the "White City" because most of its buildings are made of white bricks and stones. On the way we will pull over to see the impressive Uxmal ruins, which represent the peak of Mayan artistic and architectural achievement. You can find a large number of stone carvings, sculptures, murals and more in this Mayan ruins. Then, we will spend some time to explore two cenotes and take a refreshing swim in the forest. Upon arrival in Merida, check into the hotel.

As soon as you arrive at the Tekit village, you'll be warmly welcomed by a friendly family member who will guide you through an exciting day of exploration and cultural immersion. First, you will go out to a plot of land and handpick fresh and juicy fruits and veggies. Next shop at a local market for the remainning ingredients needed for your cooking class. Back at the Mayan home, you will learn to cook for your lunch. If time permits, you can also stroll through the village. Return to Merida in the late afternoon.

Our first stop will be the famous Chichen Itza. There you will be accompanied by your guide to the ruins of the Kukulkan Pyramids, the Castle, the Ball Game, the Temple of the Tigers, Sacred Cenote, the Building of the Nuns and the Temple of the Warriors. After the visit, we will drive for 2.5 hours to the hotel in Playa del Carmen, and then you can have a good rest.

Booking Terms and Conditions
Thank you for your interest in our AgateTravel Global Tours. The following Terms and Conditions are in place to protect you and your party member, our distinguished guests, and us, AgateTravel, in booking a tour. Please read them carefully and make sure you fully understand these agreements before you confirm your booking.
Reservation and Payment
Once we receive your tour inquiry, our one-to-one professional travel consultant will work with you from the beginning of customizing itinerary to the completion of the trip. You will enjoy real personalized service and our efficient response within 24 hours.
A tour reservation will be confirmed after receiving your tour deposit, which is 20% of the tour total payment. By paying the deposit, you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions.
Under special circumstances, a higher amount of down payment will be required to ensure your flight or hotel reservations.
The final or full payment is required 60 days ahead of tour start date. For each payment received, we will provide you with a receipt.
Methods of payments: We mainly accept payment by Wire/Bank Transfer and Credit Card. Any handling charge associated with the payment is your responsibility. WeChat and AliPay can also be accepted if you use them.
Cancellation and Refund
We understand that cancellations happen sometimes due to unexpected situations. To alleviate your concerns, we aim to offer as the most favorable cancellation policy as we can to reduce your loss.
The reservation deposit (20% of the tour total payment) is non-refundable if you cancel the tour, and it will not be calculated into the charge of the cancellation percentage.
The following cancellation charge will be applied to the remaining tour cost:
a. More than 45 days before the arrival day: no cancellation charge from us, except for the actual losses caused by air/hotel/cruise cancellation.
b. 45 to 15 days before: 30% of the remaining tour cost.
c. 14 to 8 days before: 50% of the remaining tour cost.
d. Within 7 days or no show: 100% of the remaining tour cost.
If there are any additional cancellation fees imposed by the service providers other than AgateTravel, which may include but not be limited to local travel agency, airlines, trains, hotels, cruises, etc. You will be responsible for the part.
Your cancellation request should be sent to us via email. We will calculate the refund from the day we receive your written cancellation request and process the refund to you within 20 working days.
Alteration of the Itinerary
There is no extra service charge for any alterations made prior to the tour. However, you will be responsible for any possible additional cost caused by reservation changes.
After the tour starts, any extra expenses caused by clients’ own alterations will be added. Any unused portion is non-refundable nor exchangeable.
Private Tours
A private tour can be thoroughly customized for you and your family or friends exclusively, according to your own specific requirements and interests. We offer professional suggestions, while, the trip length, travel dates, and hotel accommodation level are decided by you, and during the trip, you will enjoy maximum flexibility within reason to discuss with your guide on daily departure time, sightseeing time and meal time. If your trip includes a cruise journey, the onshore excursions will be subject to the arrangements of the cruise company.
Passports and Visa
Please make sure your passport is valid with at least 6 months validity before the start of your tour.
You are advised to verify and defer to the visa policy of the countries you are going to visit at the nearest embassy or consulate.
Dietary Requirements
Please inform us if you have food allergies of any type.
Vegetarian, vegan or gluten free meals can be arranged. If you are a vegetarian, please confirm if you eat egg, cheese, yoghurt, and fish.
Tell us your food dislikes eg no peppers/onions/ mushrooms/coriander or no pork/chicken/fish/lamb/beef or other foods.
Additional Information
It’s highly recommended to purchase travel insurance before your trip in order to minimize any unexpected losses and damages.
Please be sure to check carefully your international and domestic air tickets you purchased so that you are fully aware of the policies of the airline companies.
When checking in at some hotels, guests are expected to provide a valid credit card authorization to guarantee any possible personal consumption (e.g. laundry) during your stay.
Responsibility
As a tour operator, we are dedicated to designing, promoting and selling tour products that cover certain travel services, including guide and driver service, land transportation, air transportation, cruise, excursions and accommodation that are reserved from different suppliers. The suppliers are just independent contractors of our tour products, neither our agents nor employees.
Although we will assist with booking air and/or cruise transportation for you, we act as your agent, not as an agent of the airline and/or cruise company. However, we promise that we are responsible for the willful or negligent acts of our partner travel agents for the land services.
We reserve the right to adjust the scheduled trains or flights we have arranged in tours, and we make sure your trip will be carried out smoothly. If unfortunately the train or flight arranged is cancelled or chartered, we will discuss with you for an alternative plan.
We take all benefits and losses of any fluctuations, lower or higher in airfares, cruise fares, hotel room rates, currency exchange, taxes, or fuel surcharges after we have received the full payment. And we reserve the right to correct promotional or pricing errors or to increase the tour price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, cruise fares, hotel room rates, currency exchange, taxes, or fuel surcharges before we receive your reservation deposit.
To help customers have a better understanding on levels of the hotel accommodation arranged in our tour itineraries, we display stars to some hotels depending on their accommodation facilities, services and average review scores on platforms. Please be aware that the actual star ranking might be different from that of local regulations, independent third parties or accommodation providers themselves.
We are not responsible for acts of terrorism, political unrest, war, natural hazards, flights and cruises delay or cancellation. But we will try the best to help our clients.
We are not responsible for any unauthorized extra services that the guests book directly with the local tour supplier, guide or driver beyond our confirmed itinerary. Guests will take full responsibility for any loss on shopping, extra sightseeing or activity etc., while for some disputes, we can help to mediate.
