Tour program

Day 1

Siem Reap Arrival – Tuk Tuk ride to Ta Prohm – Quad Bike adventure (D)

Welcome to Siem Reap International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by tour guide and driver then transferring to hotel for check in.

After taking a short rest, you will start your fascinating Tuk Tuk tour (a three-wheeled motorized vehicle used as a taxi) to Ta Prohm. Intentionally left partially unrestored, massive fig and silk-cotton trees grow through the towers and corridors offering a ‘jungle atmosphere’ and some of the best ‘tree-in- temple’ photo opportunities at Angkor.

In the late afternoon, you will experience Quad Adventure riding through the villages, rice paddies and the countryside immediately surrounding Siem Reap. You will have a chance to watch the setting sun as it dips below the rice fields. Dinner will be served at local restaurant then return to hotel to relax.

Meals: Dinner

Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap

Start point

Siem Reap International Airport (REP), Airport Rd., Siem Reap, Siem Reap, Cambodia

After breakfast, we will explore the ancient temples of Angkor by bike after going to the bike shop to pick up a helmet and mountain bike and be briefed about the day’s tour. From there cycle to Angkor Thom, first stopping at the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the mythical tale of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk.

We then explore the Bayon, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Before lunch, we will cycle through the jungle to visit 4 Prasats Chrong (4 Corner Temples). We will stop for picnic lunch at one of the temples.

Following break, we continue visiting Banteay Kdei and Srah Srang. The last stop is Angkor Wat, a World Heritage Site since 1992. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology.

Return to hotel for short break, then in the evening transfer to Angkor Village Theater for dinner with an Apsara Dance Show. Overnight at hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap

After breakfast, we will drive to the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10km south of Siem Reap. Here, we take a trip in a traditional wooden boat on Tonle Sap Lake to see the floating villages with floating school, church, hospital...

We continue visiting Artisans D’Angkor, home to the handicraft center, then a quick stop at Wat Thmey, a Killing Field which contains a glass-walled stupa containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge. We end the tour today by visiting the Old Market, a lively outdoor market selling antiquities, silver and gold jewelry, gems, silk, kramas, stone and wood carvings, as well as T-Shirts, CDs and other souvenirs.

Meals: Breakfast

Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap

After breakfast, we drive to the archaeological site of Sambor Prei Kuk in Kampong Thom province, which is dotted with hundreds of pre- Angkorian style temples. Besides temples, the spectacular scenery surrounding this ancient ruin, with a mixture of temples and forest, makes it worthwhile to visit.

We leave Sambor Prei Kuk to Baray village. We will have lunch at the homestay with a local family. Over here we will have a chance to explore the local village through a pony cart ride. Villagers will teach and show you about Khmer Noodle Making.

We will stay overnight at traditional Khmer house.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Homestay in Baray village

Enjoy a homemade breakfast with the host family before saying goodbye and heading to Phnom Penh. The driving distance is about 3 hours. On the way, we will stop at Skuon, known as the Spider Market.

We will reach Phnom Penh around lunchtime so we can just go directly to a local restaurant for lunch on our own budget before heading to the hotel for check-in.

After checking intake some short rest at the hotel to refresh your energy then start your half-day tour in Phnom Penh with the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. We continue to Wat Phnom, a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) which marks the legendary founding place of Phnom Penh.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Accommodation: Hotel in Phnom Penh

Today cycle about 10km to Koh Dach, taking a small ferry across the Mekong River.

On the island, we cycle to the silk weaving village passing through orchards, villages and vegetable farms to the beach on the banks of the river. Relax and swim and try out local food from the floating hut by the beach at your own expense.

In the afternoon, we take Tuk Tuk Ride to visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces, and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Then continue to the notorious Killing Fields "Choeung Ek", 15km southwest of Phnom Penh.

This is the site of the brutal execution of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom were incarcerated in Tuol Sleng Prison during the Pol Pot regime (1975–1979).
