Itinerary
The Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek combines the experience of visiting the holy Gosainkunda Lake and observing the amazing views of the Himalayas into a single context. During this combo trek, you will pass through the lush and verdant rhododendron and bamboo woods spotting rare species of animals in their natural habitat, like the Red Panda, and see magnificent waterfalls that adorn the terrains like a masterpiece painting by an omnipotent being and get rewarded by the wonderful views of the snow topped peaks. The lake at Gosainkunda is holy to both Buddhists and Hindus and is especially visited in August each year by many pilgrims. The Lake also has significance in the religious context to the Hindus as they believe that the lake was created by Lord Shiva when he struck his trident in the mountain to drink from the mountain’s glaciers to quench his thirst after swallowing a poison that was threatening to destroy the world.
To begin the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek, we will drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (6-7 hours) and traverse along the ebullient Bhote Koshi River. On the way, we may see wild animals like monkeys and red pandas in the woods as the trek allows us to trudge through acreages of rich verdant vegetations. We will also pass destinations like the Gumanechok, the Ghoda Tabela and the Mundu Langtang village before reaching the beautifully pious quintessence of the Kyanjin Gompa. At Kyanjin Gompa, we can notice the way of life of enthusiastic Buddhist monks who carry out rituals in the striking Monastery. We will also enjoy a short hike to the Kyanjin RI (4773m) which bestows prominent views of Mt Gyangchempo, Mt. Langtang Lirung, the Ganjala Peak and many more. As part of an acclimatization process, we will hike to Chorkari RI (5050m) with its mesmerizing vistas of the Langshisa RI (6,810 m), Ganjala peak, Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Gyangchempo (6,888 m) and more.
The Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek package is designed by us keeping the satisfaction of our customers in mind as a priority. Kyangjuma Gompa Exploration and climb Chorkari RI (5,050m/16,564ft), Duration
In order to avoid altitude sickness, today we will rest in Kyanjin Gompa on this day. We will also travel around the region. Then, we will be walking up to the Chorkari RI lying at the elevation of 5050m just at the back the Langtang Village. There, we will get to see the incredible ice walls and breathtaking vista of the entire Langtang Himalaya range, including Langshisa RI (6,810 m), Ganjala peak, Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Gyangchempo (6,888 m) and more. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel (2,500m/8,200ft), Duration
We will walk and make our way back to the Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gompa after witnessing awesome sights. We will be trekking on a descending path and are likely to notice fantastic views of soaring peaks before we reach the Lama Hotel. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Lama Hotel - Thulo Syabru (2,235m/ 7,330ft), Duration
We will be descending from the Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru taking around 6 hours of time. We will descend from the Lama Hotel to a river and then traverse across the river to Thulo Syabru. Enthralling views of the Langtang Himal and several other peaks come into sight along the trail. We will also walk through pine and Juniper woods. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Thulo Syabru- Shin Gompa (3,330m/10,925ft), Duration
We will trek for around 3 to 5 hours to reach Shin Gompa from Thulo Syabru on this day. We have to follow the path from Thulo Syabru to reach the Foprang Danda- set at the altitude of 3200m.We will walk on a steep path passing all the way through Dursagang. We will be then accompanied by amazing views of the Ganesh Himal and the Langtang Himal. On the way, we will also pass the wooded areas of oak, fir and hemlock trees. Climbing for some time, we will finally reach the Shin Gompa lying at 3330m. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda (4,300m/14,104ft), Duration
We will climb further from Shin Gompa today. This is one of the most significant of days in the trekking trip. Passing through wooded areas of rhododendron trees, we will reach Laurebinayak from Shin Gompa, spotting rare exotic animals like the Red Panda in their natural protected habitat of the forest. Then, we will ascend further on a wider path all the way through alpine sceneries to get to Gosainkunda set at the elevation of 4300m, where we will explore around the Lakes. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3,430m/11,250ft) Duration
We will walk ahead from Gosainkunda and ascend through a rough country with rugged uneven terrain and pass by four more cerulean lakes before reaching the top (4,610m), which is the highest point of this trek. The fantastic views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and a lot of other snow-capped peaks are absolutely alluring. Experiencing this awesome part of the trek, we will walk down to Ghopte. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Ghopte to Kutungsang (2470m) Duration
Passing through forested areas, we will climb along a dry river-bed before reaching Kharka, the area encircled by rhododendron woods blossoming vibrantly to provide a contrast to the amethyst terra firma. We will also pass by the Thare Pati village. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Kutungsang to Chosopani (2200m), Duration
After breakfast in the morning, the trail leads us down all the way to Chisapani through the green forest of oak and rhododendron. Chisapani is an amazing hill station which is known for spectacular sunrise views. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Chisopani to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu.
After breakfast in the morning, we make about 3-4 hours downhill trek to Sundarijal along with the dense forest of Shivapuri national park. After arriving at Sundarijal, we drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel,breakfast included.
Farewell.
Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight, a representative from the Escape Himalaya Trek will take you to the airport.

General Booking Conditions
For Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan Tours: Provide us a photocopy of your passport and 20% of trip cost as a deposit while booking your trip with us. The deposit amount is nonrefundable.
Risk and Liabilities
All the Nepal, China and Bhutan Tours are conducted under the strict rules and regulations of the tourism board of the respective countries. We are not liable for any changes or cancellations of the trip under unavoidable circumstances like the change in rules and regulations of Country, Government restrictions, natural disasters, political instability and cancellation of flights, delays, sickness or accident and breakdown of vehicles. Any extra cost incurred due to such circumstances shall be borne by the clients themselves. Therefore, Travel Insurance is mandatory.
Last Minute Booking
We accept last minute bookings. You can book a trip to Nepal 7 days prior to the trip departure dates. Last minute booking may not be acceptable in the cases of Bhutan or Tibet Trips.
Postponing the Trip
A written notice should be sent to us 30 days prior to the trip departure date.
In case of postponing of Nepal Tour, minimum USD 150 will be charged as a current trip cancellation charge and the remaining amount will be transferred for the postponed trip.
In case of postponing of Tibet and Bhutan Tour, a trip cancellation charge will be charged as per the trending market rate of those countries. It solely depends upon the ongoing policy of our agents in Tibet and Bhutan. For now, 20% of trip costs and 50% of trip costs will be charged in case of postponing of Bhutan and Tibet Trip respectively.
Trip Cancellation (Nepal)
In case you intend to cancel your trip for any reasons, you need to write it to us 14 days prior to your trip departure date. We shall approve it as canceled only after receiving a valid written notice from the client. If the reason for your cancellation is genuine like injury or serious illness, you can postpone your trip or transfer your booking to another person who meets all the requirements for the trip. However, a fee of USD 150 per person will be charged if you postpone or transfer your trip within 15 days prior to your trip date. As per our policy, the deposit amount is non-refundable, therefore, you can utilize the amount to book a trip with Escape Himalaya next time.
Trip Cancellation (Bhutan)
A valid written notice of cancellation should be provided 30 days prior to your trip departure date. In case you cancel your Bhutan Tour, 20% of the trip cost will be charged as a cancellation charge (even in case of postponing or transfer of a trip to another person). The remaining amount will remain secured with Escape Himalaya as a deposit from you. You can utilize it to book the tour with Escape Himalaya next time. The amount is non-refundable.
Trip Cancellation (Tibet)
A valid written notice of cancellation should be provided 30 days prior to your trip departure date. In case you cancel your Tibet tour, 50% of the trip cost will be charged as a cancellation charge (even in case of postponing or transfer of a trip to another person). The remaining amount will remain secured with Escape Himalaya as a deposit from you. You can utilize it to book the tour with Escape Himalaya next time. The amount is non-refundable.
Incomplete Tour
We are not liable for any refunds in cases of any incomplete tour, trek or expedition whatever the reason.
Unforeseen Circumstances
If your trip gets canceled due to any unforeseen circumstances like natural disasters, war or unfavorable climatic conditions, we will arrange another trip for you. Thus, even if your trip isn’t the one you chose, your money will not go in vain.
Price Changing
We reserve our rights to change the price under various circumstances. Though our action will be reasonably pertaining to cases of some circumstances such as the drastic change in exchange rate, inflation, government actions, and others, we are not liable to answer to anyone for our action.
Travel Insurance
We highly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance package to all our clients. The insurance must cover all the medical expense, personal accident, emergency evacuation, and trip cancellation, loss of gears and natural calamity, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects and helicopter services in the mountains.
Flight Delay/Cancellation
Flight delays and cancellation tend to happen quite often during bad weather conditions in remote areas, particularly in the Everest region, the Annapurna region, Dolpo, Simikot and Jumla region. Therefore, it is advisable to carry some extra money to buy food and accommodations in case of delays. Escape Himalaya will not be responsible for any of the additional expenses. Therefore, please plan accordingly.
Your Personal Belongings
We are not liable for any damage or loss of your luggage or property. They are at your own risk.
During the Tour
In case you commit any unlawful act during your tour and you are compelled to leave Nepal, Escape Himalaya is not liable for any kind of refunds.
