  • Speaking of lunch, how does a feast of mussels – plucked straight from the local fjord – sound…?
  • Continue our journey to Clifden via Sky Road arguably the most beautiful corner of the Connemara region, with some of the most rugged and varied scenery in the county.
  • Arriving back at Clifden at 4 pm approx  – we recommend ‘The Clifden Castle ‘ loop walk. It’s about 5 km in length .

  • Gravel footpaths and wooden boardwalks ease your passage over the bog as you approach the foot of the mountain. From here, look to the sea to Inishturk, Inishbofin, and Inishshark; to Tully Mountain rising over Ballynakill Harbour and along the intricate Connemara coastline.
  • You also may pass on various animals and wildlife peculiar to Ireland. Connemara Ponies, Rams, Deers, Insects, Birds, running around marble, natural stones, Heather, rhododendrons, and many more.
