10 days (9 nights) Scoresby Sund Northern Lights Tour with Arctic photography expert Virgil Reglioni

On the 10-day East Greenland photo tour on board the MV Vikingfjord, which can accommodate up to 12 guests, you will explore and photograph the untouched landscapes of the mythical Scoresby Sund, the largest and longest fjord system in the world, the imposing basalt columns of Viking Bay and the Northern Lights, for which the Arctic season starts at the end of August.

Between the end of August and the beginning of October, when the Northern Lights are most frequently seen in the Arctic, join a small group of amateur photographers and the expert for Arctic photography and the Northern Lights, Virgil Reglioni, on a trip to Greenland. You will travel on the MV Vikingfjord, a modern, comfortable and robust expedition ship with room for just 12 guests. Shared meals and small groups ensure a pleasant silence and an intimate atmosphere.

The kilometers of glacier landscape with its majestic mountains, the calm and deep waters of the world's largest and longest fjord system and the silence and beauty of this untouched wilderness seem surreal and make Scoresby Sund one of the most charming places on earth. This incomparable and thrilling moment, when the natural wonder of the Northern Lights suddenly and unexpectedly appears before you, triggers pure joy and amazement.

During daily excursions and landings with two on-board Zodiacs, you can experience and photograph the species-rich wildlife up close. With a bit of luck, you may encounter musk oxen, Arctic foxes, Arctic hares and occasionally even polar bears and narwhals. The impressive basalt columns of Viking Bay and a visit to the Inuit settlement with its well-preserved archaeological sites are further highlights on this trip, making it an unforgettable experience.

The photo tour guides will offer support if needed to help you improve your skills and take the best pictures possible. If time permits, tutorials will be conducted on board, but the focus is always on maximizing your time out in the field. The expedition team has extensive experience in Greenland and will identify the best locations for you to photograph depending on the conditions.
