Itinerary

Torres del Paine is without any doubt one of the most beautiful places in South America. And if you like mountain activities like nice and long hikes, it is just perfect! In only one place you can enjoy stunning landscapes of massive rocky peaks, beautiful turquoise lakes, mysterious Nothofagus forests, patches of ice in the higher grounds and an imposing glacier in the end of the trip. But it is not just that. The park is organized in a way you will be able to enjoy 5 to 8 hours trek careless because you will have your warm meals and your bed or sleeping bag prepared at the end of the day. The O Trek program gives you all the meals you need and perfect places to stay to avoid carrying food and heavy equipment with you on your way. This trek has to be in your bucket list, it is just a matter of when you decide to come!

Day 1

Puerto Natales - Trekking to Serón Sector

Before the adventure begins, you will get an email with information to help you fully prepare for your Torres del Paine trip. Our sales executives will contact you about the Welcome Kit and vouchers. The day your trip begins you will take the 7:00 a.m. bus from Puerto Natales to Torres

del Paine National Park, which takes about 2 ½ hours. When you arrive at Las Torres, you will pass by the Welcome Center before starting your first hike to the Serón Sector, which will take you through the Enchanted Valley and an old native lenga tree forest. You will notice that the trees are covered by a special kind of lichen, known as “old man’s beard” (barba de viejo), which only grows in the purest of atmospheres.

Day 2

Trekking to Dickson Sector

This long, yet unforgettable day will take you up and down the foothills of the Paine Massif mountain range with magnificent photo opportunities along the way, crowned with fluffy white clouds. To reach the Dickson Sector you will descend down to the shore of Lake Paine to a beautiful green location with stunning views of the surrounding peaks, the campsite and Mountain Hostel.


6-8 hours // 18 km // HIgh level of difficulty // Total altitude: 200 masl

Day 3

Trekking to Los Perros Sector

Make the most of the shorter trekking day ahead, by waking up early and enjoying the silence by the riverside, while contemplating the clouds passing over the snowy mountain peaks. Once you have absorbed the surrounding scenery, with its hanging glacier, you will be ready to continue on your adventure, taking you through a lenga forest, home to the handsome Magellan woodpecker. On the last stretch of the trail, you will be surprised by Los Perros Glacier hanging above a serene grey lagoon. In the Perros Sector, the meal service is provided with lunch boxes and there is no restaurant service.


4-5 hours // 9 km // High Level of diffriculty // Total Altitude 369 masl

Day 4

Trekking to Grey Sector

Today will be the hardest and, at the same time, the mostrewarding day of the Circuit. You will leave Los Perros campsite early and zigzag through the forest’s humid terrain. You will then ascend a steep, winding, rocky section to reach John Gardner Pass. Once you get there, you will see before you the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, which will take your breath away in an instant, with its irregular peaks and turquoise glacial crevasses.


9-12 hours // 15 km // High Level of difficulty // Starting altitude: 620 masl. Highest Altitude: 1.241 masl 

Day 5

Trekking to Paine Grande Sector

This is the part of the Circuit where the “O” meets the “W”. After a few very intense days, today  you will enjoy a relaxing walk in the foothills of the mountain, amongst Antarctic beech trees (ñirre), Dombey’s beech (coigüe) and the Chilean firetree (notro). This short, yet gratifying trek will fill your senses and the views of Mount Paine Grande, with the highest peak in the region (3,050m) and its hanging glaciers are just incredible. Once you arrive at the campsite, you can kick-back and rest or take a leisurely walk along the shore of Lake Pehoé’s turquoise waters.


4 hours // 11 km // Medium Level of difficulty // Starting Altitude: 130 masl Highest Altirude: 388 masl

Day 6

Trekking to Francés Valley

The day begins with a wonderful hike into the Francés Valley. Along the way you will enjoy the peace and quiet of pure nature, be surrounded by majestic mountain peaks and feel totally immersed in wild vegetation. You will savor in the serenity of the forests and the glacial streams, where you can fill your bottle with pure, fresh water. And you will marvel at the majestic Los

Cuernos Mountains, looming overhead. The grand finale of this trek is like no other, a lookout with incredible views of the Francés Glacier and the rest of the Paine Massif Mountain Range.


8-9 hours // 20,5 km // HIgh level of difficulty // Starting Altitude: 100 masl Highest altitude: 762 masl

Day 7

Trekking Central Sector

You will begin by walking along the Arriero River, whichn offers great places to relax and refill your bottle with fresh running water. You will be drawn to the beauty of these enormous summits looming over the turquoise lake below and will want to capture the incredible scenery forever in a photo. Lake Nordenskjöld is surrounded by amazing geographical contrasts, home to many birds, so we recommend you look out for condors overhead. You will then continue along the base of the magnificent Mount Almirante Nieto and its hanging glaciers.


4-5 hours // Medium Level of difficulty // Total altitude: 200 masl

Day 8

Las Torres Viewpoint

The day begins with a slowly ascending hike through the Patagonian pampas and begins to steepen as you enter the Ascencio Valley, until you reach Los Vientos Mountain Pass - with its spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and lakes. You will continue hiking, past the Chileno Mountain Hostel and through a native lenga forest before approaching the final stretch of your adventure. This part of the hike takes about an hour and is over rocky terrain, lined with enormous boulders. Awaiting at the end is the most awe-inspiring view of the three iconic granite towers and glacial lagoon.


7-9 hours // 19,5 km // HIgh Level of difficulty // Starting Altitude: 126 masl. HIghest Altitude: 870 masl

Contracting Conditions

Prices include: All the services specified in each offered and hired package, plus accommodation at the selected hostels/hotels (or similar).


The prices do NOT include: Airport taxes, entrance to national or local parks, none specified food and beverages. No extras included, such as: laundry service, telephone calls, beverages and food on the road (except for explicitly detailed in the itinerary). Visa expenses when necessary. Excursions and/or optional visits. Luggage excess, stopovers and/or additional expenses produced by cancelled/reschedule/delayed flights, or other means of transportation, by unexpected reasons and/or regardless of your will. Cover of loss, robbery and/or partial damages of the luggage. Any another service that is not specifically detailed in the general conditions of each contract.


Hostel/hostel Day: 

Although there can be some variations according to the destination, the right to check in begins at 2PM the day of arrival, while checking out at 11AM. Full night stay could be charged if check out time is exceeded: please notify in advance at reception if you want to extend your stay.


Responsibilities

HI Travel Incoming SAS – HI Travel Incoming DMC Leg: EVT 12.903 hereinafter referred to as “Organizer”, who acts in representation of services providers, explicitly declares that works only as a link between travelers and the representative companies (transportation, hotels, restaurants, guides, etc.); therefore declines to accept any possible responsibility for deficiency in any of the offered services, as well for any damage, injury, accident, strike, illnesses, robberies, delays/anticipations or reschedule trips, as many other irregularities that could occur during the execution of services, including luggage or other objects loss and deterioration.


Service alterations: 

The Organizer reserves the right to modify the itinerary if it provides a better service, or if the circumstances oblige thus. Similarly, the Organizer reserves the right to ANNUL any Tour for reasons of greater force (the Organizer should communicate such circumstances directly to clients or the hired agency, who requested the reservation, 7 days ahead). The Organizer declines all guarantees, reimbursement and all responsibility for inconveniences or damages inherent to the use of offered services, if the trip is prolonged beyond fixed schedules because of any circumstance of greater force, or if the client does not use any of the previously hired services. All prices are subject to modification without previous notice.


Times of transportation: the departure times of transportation stated in the tours and itineraries can change due to third companie´s choice or due to seasonal changes. 


Reservations and payment methods: 

Reservations will be accepted only when properly given Name, Surname, ID type and number, Nationality and Date of Birth, arrival details; and it will have validity only after paying 30% upfront. Balance should be paid within 7 days after the reservation is confirmed. The breach of this obligation will be taken as a reliable NOTICE of cancellation, automatically causing the annulment of the confirmed reservation and the total loss of the deposit, without the right to claim for a return. Partial or total payments imply that the Client is properly notified about the general conditions, and that they are accepted. (Except W Trek and O trek tours)


Refund

There will be no refunds done for any service to which the Client has renounced voluntarily.


Claims

Claims will not be attended after 20 days the service is finished.


Cancellations

They will only be valid, in all cases and without exception, when presenting a written e-mail to the Organizer’s e-mail account. When canceling, the Client will be charged a cancellation fee according to the service price.


Cancellation fee: 

Retentions will be applied according to the time of anticipation cancellations are formulated: more than 20 days of anticipation: 10%, between 20 and 3 days of anticipation: 30%, 72 hours of anticipation: 70%, except particular cases. (Except W Trek and O trek tours- please check conditions bellow)


Tours / Date Changes: 

They will only be accepted within (at least) 3 days of the application date. These changes will be subject to availability and the payment of 5% of the service price, in concept of administrative and communication fee. (Except W Trek and O trek tours- please check conditions bellow)


Useful Information: 

Personal documentation: it is indispensable that the personal documentation is current and in perfect state of conservation. The ORGANIZER declines explicitly any responsibility if the Client cannot embark due to documentation loss or rejection, or lack of the needed visa, if necessary. When traveling with children, the marriage register book or their birth certificates must be carried. If one of the parents is traveling with a child younger than 21, the spouse's notarized authorization must be shown. Minors traveling without parents must present a notarized authorization from both parents. In both cases, the authorization must be signed by a Public Notary and properly legalized at the School of Notaries.


Article 21, Decree 2182/72: 

When withdrawals that affect services hired by the Organizer occurs, the reimbursement is subject to the contractual conditions under which the respective companies lend their services. When cases of reimbursements are effective, agencies will have the right to deduce 10% from the total amount for themselves. Agencies should send the confirmation order (for the total amount hired by the Client) to the lending service companies within 5 days the claim is received, in case of immediate reimbursement (when applicable) for non-used hired services. They will also have to return the corresponding amount within the next 10 days the respective liquidation is received.


W trek, O trek and Part of the W trek cancellation and modifications policy

amount.



95 days or more before arrival ................................. no fee.

94 to 65 days before arrival ................................... 20% fee.

65 to 50 days before arrival .................................. 50% fee.

50 (or less) days before arrival ......................... 100% fee.


Modifications:

Any modifications made to a reservation during the cancellation and payment periods that result in a lower total value than the original quote will not be eligible for a refund. If a modification results in a higher total value than the original quote, the price difference must be paid immediately. No changes can be made to the reservation once it is 100% paid.
