Galapagos 8 Tage

Today is your departing day to the Galapagos Islands, you will fly to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (San Cristobal Island), it will take 1 hour and half approx. Then, one of our representatives will meet you at the Airport to take you to the hotel for check in. (Flight not included in cost).

After you will have chance to have something to eat in town near by the hotel on your own.

KAYAK TOUR TO DARWIN BAY 

­ 

In the afternoon the tour Guide will meet you at the lobby to take you back to the pier, get equipped with the kayak and snorkel gear. Then you will start a fantastic guided tour towards to Tijeretas hill and Darwin Bay surrounded by frigate birds, blue footed boobies and sea lions. 

­ 

This activity is safe and good for all ages unless you have any mobility issues. Upon arrival to Darwin Bay, you will snorkel to see colorful fish and the famous green pacific turtles.

Finally kayak back to the pier (this activity normally takes 3 hours and half)

HIKE TO TIJERETAS HILL & DARWIN BAY

­ 

In the afternoon the tour Guide will meet you at the lobby to take you to visit the most beautiful hill nearby town well known as Tijeretas Hill (nickname given by the frigate birds shape as scissors).

­ 

You will hike up to the hill, then you will stop by the self-guided Interpretation Center to know more about the Capital of the Galapagos Islands. Then, you will do snorkel at Darwin’s Bay, and finally return back to the hotel for overnight.

Heute steht einer der besten Schnorchelausflüge auf Galapagos auf dem Programm, ein Tagesausflug zum Kicker Rock!

Nach dem Frühstück fahren wir mit einem komfortablen Schnellboot an der Küste von San Cristobal entlang und genießen die Aussicht auf die Vögel und die Landschaft aus einem anderen Blickwinkel. An der Felsformation schnorcheln wir durch den Kanal auf der Suche nach einer Vielzahl von Haien, Fischen, Schildkröten, Rochen, Seelöwen und mehr!

Genießen Sie anschließend ein Lunchpaket auf dem Boot und entspannen Sie sich am Strand, bevor Sie in die Stadt zurückkehren.

Hotelunterkunft (Arena Blanca Hotel ***)

Heute fahren Sie mit dem Schnellboot nach Puerto Ayora auf der Insel Santa Cruz (Dauer ca. 2 Stunden). Anschließend erreichen Sie das Hotel und checken ein.

Sie haben etwas Zeit, um die Stadt zu erkunden und ein schnelles Mittagessen einzunehmen, bevor die nächste Aktivität beginnt. Später am Nachmittag besuchen Sie eine Schildkrötenfarm im Hochland von Santa Cruz, wo Sie eine große Anzahl wilder Landschildkröten in freier Wildbahn sehen können.

Schließlich kehren Sie für die Übernachtung in die Stadt zurück.

Tipp für heute Abend: Versäumen Sie es nicht, in der QUIOSKOS Straße einen sehr frischen Hummer und viele verschiedene Meeresfrüchte zu essen, die am Morgen gefangen wurden.

Gehen Sie auch nachts zum Pier, wo Sie Babyhaie, Rochen und viele andere Tiere aus nächster Nähe sehen können.

Hotelübernachtung (Deja Vú Hotel *** )

On this day you will take a speed boat towards to Isabela Island, upon your arrival check in to the hotel some resting time (if not you can rent a bike for usd 10 a visit the Galapagos Breeding Center or the wetlands).

Then, we will take to you to another fantastic tour well known as TINTORERAS ISLET.

At this tour, you will visit a next door islet full of babbie marine iguanas, sea gulls, sea lions, blue footted bobbies, frigatte birds and some Galapagos Penguins.

 Also, depending of the sea tide you will be able to see the TINTORERAS or The White Tip Reef Shark, who rest during day time at the Islet canals.

Then, you will go for a magic snorkel at La Calera area, where you will swim together with marine iguanas, sea turttles, sea lions and a great number of colorful fish.

Finally, you will return back to hotel.

SIERRA NEGRA VOLCANO TOUR  (ACTIVE HIKE)

Today is an early bus ride for 30 minutes towards to the entrance of Volcan Sierra Negra, then hike up to the Volcano Caldera (1 hour and half each way, it could also be more depending of your health, condition). Along the way you can observe some plants and bird’s endemic from the Galapagos Islands then if the weather allows, you will have great Volcano Views. This volcano erupted on July 2018, so you will see the reminds of the last eruption very close.

Finally, you will hike back to the park control with the group, to take another 30 minutes bus back to town for packing and in the afternoon speed boat to Santa Cruz Island.

This Tour Activity is ACTIVE , so if you are not able to hike for 4 hours , we suggest you this other options as follows:

WETLANDS TOUR AND TORTOISE BREEDING CENTER (EASY HIKE)

­ 

After breakfast our guide will take you visit the Giant Tortoise Station, then enjoy a flat hike towards to the wetlands to see the Galapagos pink flamingos and a lot of marine Iguanas. 

This hike is more a comfortable sightseeing than demanding hike , so we strongly recommend you to choose this other option if you prefer more sightseeing than long hikes.

This tour will start early from town, then a bus ride towards Itabaca Canal where you will board the yatch for the excursion.

­ 

The little island Bartolome is very small and 114m high situated close to Santiago Island. When the volcano that formed Bartolomé erupted, there was not any water present resulting in large amounts of basalt on this island (when water is present in an eruption tuff is created). The basalt hardened together with air creating very light rocks.

­ 

Bartolome’s surface is covered with volcanic ash, which is suposed to be blown over from Santa Cruz Island. The island consists of an extinct volcano and volcanic formations in a variety of red, orange, green, and glistening black.

­ 

Pinnacle Rock is the eroded remains of a tuff cone. This large partially eroded lava formation was created when magma expelled from the volcano reached the sea. When the seawaters cooled, the hot lava caused an explosion. The exploded particles eventually fasten together forming a rock composed of thin layers. 

­ 

Bartolome's Pinnacle Rock has become one of the most photographed sights in the islands. As a prominent landmark it was used as a target for US military during World War II (you can still see the bullet holes). 

­ 

Galapagos Penguins are living behind the rock. A small submerged crater can be seen just offshore. To the east you can see a series of small spatter cones. Lying beside the Pinnacle Rock are twin half moon shaped beaches. On the northern one (wet landing) you are allowed to swim and snorkel. Don’t miss that!

­

Finally, you will be taken back to Puerto Ayora for your last night at the Galapagos.
