Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek - 18 Days

Visit 4 cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu. They are Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bouddhanath Stupa. You will be guided by our local city tour guides. 

We will take a flight to Bhadrapur and then drive to Illam for an overnight stay. 

After breakfast, dive from Illam to Taplejung (1820m). It is about 9 hrs drive by local bus or jeep.

Early morning drive from Taplejung to Sekathum (1640m). It is about 5 hrs local jeep drive.

After breakfast, we start our hike from Sekathum to Amjilosa. It is about 5-6 hours gradual up and down hike. 

After having our breakfast, we trek from Amjilosa to Gyabla which is about 4 to 5 hours hike. 

After breakfast, we trek from Gyabla to Ghunsa village. It is a beautiful trek which is about 5 hours. 

We stay one more extra night at Ghunsa to acclimatize our bodies. We do a short hike around Ghunsa for an active day. 

After resting for two nights in Ghunsa we continue our journey to Khambachen. It is about 5 to 6 hours trek. 

After having breakfast at Khambachen Guest house, we begin our journey to Lhonak. It is about 4 to 5 hours trek. 

Today is the most important day of our journey as we are going to visit the North base camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga. It is also called Pangpema. After visiting North base camp, we will return to Lhonak for overnight stay. 

After visiting the North base camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga, we set our trek back to Ghunsa from Lhonak. It is a long day hike which is about 7-8 hours trek.  

After breakfast, we trek back to Amjilosa from Ghunsa. Today, we trek for about 7 to 8 hours.

Today, at the beginning, we trek 4 hours to Sekathum and then take a local jeep drive to Taplejung. A drive from Sekathum to Taplejung is 5 hours off-road drive. 

Early in the morning, we take a local bus or jeep drive to Bhadrapur from Taplejung. Overnight stay at Bhadrapur. 

Your guide will transfer you to the Bhadrapur airport after breakfast and then fly back to Kathmandu. It is about 45 minutes flight from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu airport. Then transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu.
