Details about the 5-day World Heritage Trail Wachau with Charm

The approximately 35km-long Wachau tour begins at its eastern end in Krems. Our 5-day short trip also starts here. In addition to numerous highlights, there are also 20 palaces and castles that represent a unique relic from the past on the World Heritage Trail. The Göttweig Monastery and the Dürnstein ruins, for example, are worth a visit.

Even on day 3, you are guaranteed not to be bored. You can expect top-class products such as Austria's largest apricot-growing region. The Wachau is full of lovely villages, including Spitz on the Danube. The small village serves as a hiking destination on day 4.

This trip is ideal for leisure hikers, as, in addition to the wonderful views, numerous wine taverns invite you to stop for a break. The hills in this area are not very high, but there are challenging sections. As an alternative, these can usually be replaced by more leisurely routes.
