Northern Vietnam 8 Days From Moutain to the Sea (Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong – Ninh Binh and Lan Ha Bay)

Hanoi welcome: after long time on airplane, you will reach Vietnam – the S-shaped land, where 54different ethnic minorities inhabited. You will be warmly welcomed by our  driver  at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city center of Hanoi.

Overnight in Ha Noi

 7h30 Pickup at your hotel departure to Mai Chau, On the way of the winding pass as silk. You will see be Living space of the Local Muong, Thai is interwoven between the Valley and the mountains along the way. 

10:50 -11:30 Stop at the top of Thung Khe Pass to admire the panorama of Mai Chau Valley especially you will feel interested when visiting the temporary local market where selling products of the Muong ethnic people at the top of the pass. 12:00 Have lunch (vegetarian available) 

14:30: Bicycle ride with your tour guide, see farmers working in fields, locals weaving scarves and visit surrounding peaceful villages. 17:00 Free time for cycling, walking, shopping

19:00 Enjoy the the dinner, you will have a chance to Enjoy traditional dishes prepared in the style of the native Thai and watch the Thai’s traditional Dance show and drink traditional wine “ruou can”. (only applied for group more than 5 peoples) 

07:30 Breakfast time 

08:30 Drive 35km to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, we will stop on the way to see chopsticks factories and take photos sometimes. 

12:00 Arrive to Pu Luong Nature reserve, we will take a short break for 10 minutes before starting to do trekking and explore the beautiful scenery of the mountains and stunning rice terraces 

13:00 Enjoy Lunch in the village and rest before we restart trekking then drive back to Mai Chau. 

15:00 Free Time 19:00 Enjoy the dinner and take a comfortable sleep to recharge for the next activity the following day 

Today begins with a bang: a screaming downhill through the village’s steep rice terraces. Safely in the valley, we embark on a wonderfully scenic and remote x-country track for 15 Km.  Riverside bamboo forests shade us as we roll on, completely alone in nature.

We’ll then take an hour-long van transfer before cycling towards Ninh Binh, a UNESCO world heritage site. We’ll pass by limestone formations on the way. We’ll finally reach the Ninh Binh homestay 

16:00 Arrive Ninh Binh, check in bungalow, you will enjoy the time in Ninh Binh by cycling around

8:30: Tour guide will meet you take to visit  Bai Dinh Pagoda, the biggest one in Vietnam with 500 Buddha statues. You can see the biggest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam with 10 meters in height, and 100 tons in weight. The tour guide also gives you an introduction to beliefs and religions in Vietnam.

10.30 Visit Trang An ecological tourist site with a boat trip through cave chains: Lam cave, Thanh Truot cave… with 3 spiritual places (Cao Son temple, Suoi Tien temple, Vu Lam Historic Area) and an exciting “Kong – Skull Island” film studio.

Have a Lunch in local restaurant

14.30:  Mua Cave (Dancing cave). Trekking up almost 500 steps, you can reach the top of Lying Dragon Mountain & have an amazing panoramic view of the Tam Coc River

16:30 back to the bungalow 

Overnight in Ninh Binh 

After breakfast, drive to Cat Ba Island, and board the junk. This junk is equipped with comfortable cabins, to discover the famous bay of Lan Ha in an original way, away from the tourist routes. Boarding and welcome drink. You take the course towards the southwest: you sail in the middle of thousands of sugar loaves emerging from the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. A seafood lunch is served, followed by a moment of relaxation on the deck of the boat, while the crew cuts the engine to hoist the sails... (wind conditions permitting). You enter Ong Cam Bay. From there, kayaks are at your disposal for a short trip in the surroundings. Dinner and overnight on board the junk.

After breakfast, continue to discover the beautiful Lan Ha Bay, with its small wild beaches, caves and floating villages. Lunch on board before disembarking around noon on Cat Ba island. Return to Hanoi.

Tour guide will meet you at the hotel and take you visit Today's sightseeing tour takes in the best of Hanoi, kicking off with Ba Dinh Square where the squat granite mausoleum of Vietnam's most famous leader - Ho Chi Minh - is laid to rest. Close by is the attractive and well-preserved stilted house where Ho once lived, now surrounded by well-tended gardens. Next up on the itinerary is the historic Buddhist temple known as the One Pillar Pagoda.

Touring continues with the Temple of Literature, the first university to have been built in Vietnam back in the 11th century. The complex features pagodas, courtyards, ponds and ancient trees making it a lovely spot for a little wander. Get to know Vietnam's colourful ethnic groups at the absorbing Museum of Ethnology. A highlight of your visit is sure to be the full-scale village houses arranged in the garden of the grounds.

Later this evening discover Hanoi's historic heart and soul as you head out on a walking tour of the Old Quarter where you can sample some of the city's tastiest snacks and street food from noodles to pancakes. The final stop of the day is the lively 'international corner' where locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy a cold beverage watching city scenes play out in front of them.

we will guide you to a cozy café located on the Train Street. Here, you can relax and sip on a cup of the iconic egg coffee or other beverages while marveling at the passing trains. This presents a perfect opportunity to capture some amazing photos and soak up the laid-back ambiance of Hanoi.
