After breakfast at your hotel, begin your guided exploration of Vientiane, the tranquil capital city of Laos, known for its blend of colonial charm, Buddhist spirituality, and historical landmarks.

Your tour starts with a visit to Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, renowned for its cloister walls housing thousands of tiny Buddha statues. Continue to the nearby Wat Prakeo, formerly the royal temple and now a museum showcasing a fine collection of Lao and Khmer art and religious antiques.

Next, travel along Lane Xang Avenue, where you’ll stop to admire and photograph the Patuxai Monument, Vientiane’s version of the Arc de Triomphe. For those who wish, a climb to the top of the monument rewards you with panoramic views over the city.

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your overland journey northward from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, a scenic drive that takes approximately 4 hours through beautiful Lao countryside.

En route, stop at the Hmong Village at KM 52, where you’ll gain insight into the daily life, traditions, and culture of one of Laos’ prominent ethnic minority groups. Continue to the archaeological site of Vang Xang, known for its ancient rock carvings and some of the oldest Buddha statues in the country, dating back to the 11th century.
