Your first whale watching tour begins! After a detailed briefing by your marine biologist guide, head out into the Atlantic in search of sperm whales, dolphins, and possibly the first blue whales of the season. In the afternoon, you have free time to enjoy a walk along the coastal trails or a wine tasting of the island’s UNESCO-listed vineyards.

The Blue Whale Trail | 3-Hours Experience
Join a half-day tour that combines excitement with education. Before setting out, participate in a briefing led by knowledgeable marine biologists who will provide insights into the local marine ecosystem and the species you may encounter. This experience offers a deeper understanding of the Azores' rich biodiversity, as the waters around the archipelago are home to 28 different cetacean species.
Raincoats and life jackets are provided and must be worn at all times for safety.

1. All activities are done in a shared mode;
2. For these multi-day and multi-island activities in a private mode, a budget must be
solicited.
3. The order of the activities composing the multi-day experiences follows the availability of
our weekly structure.
4. The activities are done in Portuguese / English. For activities in other languages, the
services must be requested with time in advance, and it may be added an extra
percentage over the regular price.

1. Extra services, such as transfers or others from Futurismo, may be added on request and

3. CANCELLATION POLICIY
1. In a shared mode, for up to 8 people, counting from the starting date (and hour) of the
first activity scheduled in experiences done exclusively in São Miguel or Pico:
1.1. Until 20 days before: free cancellation.
1.2. Until 10 days: 50% charge of the experience’s total.
1.3. Less than 7 days before the activity or no-show: 100% charge.
2. For private groups, counting from the starting date (and hour) of the first activity
scheduled:
2.1. Until 20 days before: free cancellation.
2.2. Until 10 days: 50% charge of the experience’s total.
2.3. Less than 7 days before the activity or no-show: 100% charge.
3. The activities release may be reviewed according to the specific characteristics of each
request, should these be in private mode or on-request.

All whale watching tours on this program take place aboard a Zodiac RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) — a safe, agile, and fast vessel designed for close-up marine wildlife observation. The low profile allows intimate views of the whales while maintaining a responsible distance. Each trip is led by an experienced skipper and a certified guide.
Please note: This experience is not suitable for pregnant participants or those with serious back, neck, or mobility issues, due to the nature of the Zodiac ride, which can be bumpy in open-water conditions.
