Heraklion - Argyroupoli - Plakias

Transfer (1h30) to Argyroupoli in the hinterland of Rethymnon. This mountain village is full of surprises! aA powerful town since ancient times, with a rich Roman fortress, Argyroupoli (formerly Lappa) is packed with Minoan, Greek and Roman remains, and boasts a beautiful historic centre. But it also has surroundings that are extraordinary, and quite different from the classic landscapes of Crete: springs, waterfalls and windmills, set in a lush, enchanting environment.

Visit Argyroupoli and stroll through the surrounding countryside: chapels, sheepfolds, authentic villages. Transfer (approx. 40 mins) to Plakias, a charming seaside resort with a crescent-shaped bay and beautiful sandy beaches. Option to walk along the Libyan Sea to Akra Kakomouri Cape and the caves.

About 2 hours of walking, +/-200m/656ft. Daypack to carry.

Dinner and overnight in Plakias.

День 3

Plakias – Preveli – Plakias

We take a small boat to the Prévéli palm grove. The monastery we visit is Piso Moni, which we reach on foot from the palm grove. Return by the same route through the gorge to the beach. The river, surrounded by palm trees, flows into the sea - a delightful freshwater swim! After a break on the sandy beach, return to Plakias by boat.

Alternative if there is no boat:

Bus transfer from Plakias to the monastery of Piso Moni in Preveli (approx. 20 minutes). After visiting the monastery, we walk to the gorges and beach of Preveli. We enjoy the beach and a walk through the palm forest near the gorge. The return journey can be made either by boat or bus, after a 600-metre walk (footpath) to the next beach, Drymiskiano Ammoudi.

About 3 to 4 hours depending on the route chosen, +200m/656ft to 450m/1312ft, -200m/656ft to -450m/1312ft. Daypack to carry.

Dinner and overnight in Plakias.

День 4

Plakias – Loutro – Aradena Gorge

Transfer to the White Mountains! In winter, snow covers them, then the sun reflects off the dazzling

white limestone peaks in the summer. En route, take a break and visit the village of Frangokastello (1 hour), famous for its imposing Venetian fort, a witness to the turbulent history of Crete. At Chora Sfakion, we take the ferry to Loutro, a charming seaside village in its own cove, accessible only on foot or by boat. Hike to Livaniana, with beautiful sea views, and descend into the lower Aradena Gorge. These narrow, easy gorges, lined with oleanders, are magnificent. Return to Loutro via the marble beach: here, nothing but large marble slabs and incredibly clear water; impossible to resist a swim! Before arriving in Loutro, you'll discover the charming site of the Port of Phoenix.

About 4 hours walking, +/-470m/1542ft; 8km/5mi. Daypack to carry.

Dinner and overnight in Loutro.

День 5

The Samaria Gorge

By boat along the coast to the small port of Agia Roumeli, at the entrance to the famous Samaria Gorge. Located in the heart of Crete's only national park (the White Mountains National Park: Lefka Ori), the 16km/10mi-long Samaria Gorge (the longest in Europe) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the "nature" category. It is home to an incredible biodiversity, including many endemic species of plants and flowers. The Samaria Gorge, which runs from the Omalos plateau at 1250m to the sea, has also played an important role in the island's history. We set off from the sea as far as Afentis Christοs, where we will take a picnic break. Return walk. Return to Loutro by boat.

About 4.5 hours of walking, +/-470m/1542ft; 16km/10mi. Daypack to carry.

Dinner and overnight in Loutro.

День 6

Loutro – Arkadi – Heraklion

After breakfast, we leave Loutro on foot for a hike along the coast to Glyka Nera beach. We enjoy this

magnificent beach before taking a taxi boat to Chora Sfakion. Lunch in the harbor, followed by a 1.5 hour transfer to the Arkadi monastery. Situated 20km/12.4mi south-east of Rethymnon on a fertile plateau at the foot of Mount Ida, the monastery is not only a highly interesting cultural monument but also a historic site, symbolising Cretan resistance against Ottoman occupation. We spend around 45 minutes here. Transfer to Heraklion (1.5 hours).

About 1.5 hours of walking, +30m/100ft, -50m/165ft, 3.5km/2.2mi. Daypack to carry.

Dinner and overnight in Heraklion.

День 7

Heraklion - Knossos

A day devoted to Heraklion and its rich heritage. Transfer to Knossos Palace and visit with an English-speaking cultural guide (approx. 1 to 2 hours). Those who wish can visit the museum (admission not included). Return to Heraklion by scheduled bus, followed by free time. Possibility of visiting the magnificent Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, one of the most important in Greece and home to the most complete collection relating to Minoan civilisation. Tonight we have one last dinner to celebrate our time together.

Dinner and overnight in Heraklion.

We inform you that the travel packages offered by Grand Angle are considered, within the meaning of the regulations, as "packages", and that as such, you benefit in particular from the rights set out in Article 13 below.

1/ Our travel offers

Our travel offer includes guided or self-guided tours to be carried out in groups or families and tailor-made trips to be designed, according to your desires of the moment, with the help of one of our advisors.

1.1. Self-guided travel

The “self-guided" labeled trip allows you to travel without a guide and without worrying about organization or logistics. We offer you an itinerary for which we book your accommodation, luggage transfers and other services according to the options chosen, and you receive a travel packet containing the necessary documents to carry out your trip. For some trips, a minimum of two adults may be required.

1.2. Guided travel

“Guided” labeled trips allow you to travel in a small group with supervisory staff. The maximum group size for each trip is indicated on the detailed program. Nevertheless, the maximum number may be exceeded by one participant if the last person who  registers wishes to travel with another person. The services will not be modified, and the travel conditions will be identical.

1.2.2 Authority of supervisors

The supervisory staff chosen by Grand Angle and its partners (Guides: mountain guide, ski instructor, bike instructor, etc...) accompanying any group of travelers is the sole judge during the trip, to carry out or modify the program provided to ensure the safety of travelers and the smooth running of the trip, and/or to deal with unforeseen circumstances. They are also entitled to suspend and/or interrupt the journey of one or more traveler(s) for security reasons. An alternative to the trip will be offered to the traveler(s) concerned, who will bear any additional costs. Depending on the weather conditions, the state of the terrain and the physical condition of the travelers, Grand

Angle or the supervisory staff may be required to offer travelers an adapted program and/or the presence of an additional guide. Additional charges will be incurred by travelers in such cases. The interruption of the trip on the request of any traveler will not give rise to any refund demands.

1.3. Tailor-made trips

You have the possibility to develop a personalized custom trip, according to your desires, whether self-guided or guided, based on an existing itinerary or not, with the help of our advisors. All you must do is request a quote from Grand Angle, phone/email and/or via our website.

1.4. Family travel

Grand Angle offers guided tours specially designed for families. These tours are only available to participants who are travelling with at least one child or a minor (under 18 years of age). Grand Angle also offers itineraries and self-guided trips adapted for families.

2/ Payment

2.1. Terms of payment

The balance of the price of the trip must be paid, without a reminder, and cashed by Grand Angle no later than 30 days before the date of departure.

Any delay in the payment of a deposit and/or balance will be considered a cancellation by you for which the cancellation fees referred to in Article 5 below will be applied.

For any registration 30 days or less from the date of departure, you will have to pay the total amount of the trip balance before your confirmation can be finalized.

In the special case of cruise boat tours and/or tours utilizing boat accommodation, registration(s) made more than 90 days before departure require a payment of 30% of the total amount of the tour price; registrations made between 90 and 46 days before departure require a payment of 60% of the total amount of the tour price; registrations made 45 days and less require a 100% payment of the tour price. Final balance payment of the entire tour price is due no later than 45 days before departure. Any delay in the payment of final balance will be considered a cancellation by you for which the cancellation fees referred to in Article 5 below will be applied.

If the trip subscribed is complete and/or unavailable, Grand Angle will refund all sums paid, as soon as possible and without deduction of any sum.

2.2. Receipt

For any payment whose amount is validated and cashed by Grand Angle, the person signing the registration form will be sent a confirmation of registration and receipt within 15 days of any payment collected.

3/ Travel information

3.1. Administrative and health formalities

Before registering to undertake your trip, you must check that each of the travelers, depending on their personal situation and nationality, is in possession of a valid passport or national identity card document that will be used to carry out the planned trip as well as any other document(s)/supporting documents (visa/authorizations to leave the

country, family record book, etc...) necessary and complying with the requirements required to transit and/or enter the country or countries of travel.

For the organization of your trip, we inform you that certain countries and/or service providers (in particular, customs authorities, airlines, etc...) require the transmission of some of your personal data to fill in forms and/or requirements relating to their reservation system and/or control.

To this end, we may be obliged to communicate to these service providers the following

data:

• your surname, first name(s), date of birth and gender that appear on the passport or CNI (if the destination allows it) that you will use for your trip and to complete the transit or entry authorizations (visa, ESTA...),

• data relating to a need for assistance (children, pregnant women, persons with reduced mobility) or others.

It is important to specify that if you must fill out administrative forms for the completion of your trip, you will have to fill them in with the same information as that transmitted to Grand Angle, namely, surname, first name(s), date of birth and gender. Failure to comply with this procedure exposes you to a refusal of entry into the territory (transit or final

destination).

A traveler who cannot use the tickets made available to them because they do not present the required police, customs and/or health documents, will not be entitled to any refund of the price of their trip. Grand Angle cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible for the consequences of the traveler's failure to comply with police,

customs or health regulations before or during the trip (for example the loss of identity documents).

3.2. Information on safety and health risks

Grand Angle advises you to regularly consult, before your departure, your home country's official travel recommendations relating to the country or countries of your trip.

Grand Angle also recommends that you regularly consult the information on the risks of the country of your trip and the recommendations available on the World Health Organization’s website.

3.3. Physical fitness/accessibility

Each traveler must ensure that their physical condition is suitable for the intended trip. Grand Angle cannot be held responsible in case of physical insufficiency revealed during the trip. Grand Angle reserves the right not to accept any participant who does not meet the expected prerequisites of aptitude specified in the detailed program. Grand Angle

maintains the right to refuse service to any participant if further participation proves dangerous, both for their own safety and/or for the safety of other members of the group. This decision will be made without the participant being able to contest the decision made by Grand Angle/supervisory staff and they may not request any compensation or reimbursement in these situations.

Our trips are likely to welcome minors (under the age of 18 years) accompanied by a legal guardian, provided that their age and physical fitness make it possible to carry out the tour under normal conditions.

Our trips may require significant physical involvement depending on the level of fitness required and are therefore not adaptable and/or accessible to all.

We invite you to contact us for more information on the accessibility of our trips and for any request for assistance, especially at the airport and/or during the trips.

3.4. Minors

Applications for the registration of minors (under the age of 18) who wish to undertake a trip unaccompanied by a legal guardian, are subject to the prior agreement of Grand Angle and must be signed by a legal guardian and bear the mention "agreement of the legal guardian".

An authorization to leave the country, for a minor travelling abroad without at least one legal guardian, may be mandatory from your home country. A minor child travelling without a legal guardian must present the following three documents:

• Minor's identity document: national identity card or passport according to the requirements of the country of destination.

• Exit authorization form, signed by a legal guardian.

• Photocopy of the identity document of the legal guardian.

Depending on the destination, certain other administrative documents may be required. We draw your attention to the fact that the authorization to leave the territory concerns all minors traveling without at least one legal guardian, whether they have a passport or  not. For minors travelling with a legal guardian, it is the responsibility of the legal

guardian to ensure that they are in possession of the necessary documents (family record book and national identity card or passport and, if applicable, authorization to leave the territory). In any case, the minor traveler must always carry during the trip the contact details (name, address and telephone numbers) of at least one legal guardian, to

be able to establish direct contact with them.

4/ Changes/Interruption of services requested by the traveler

4.1. Transport services

After registration for the trip, any modification relating to the ticket and in particular to the surnames/first names of the traveler(s) may result in additional costs and/or penalties, the amount of which must be paid by the traveler(s), to Grand Angle, before departure. Grand Angle will charge, per person, the actual additional cost/fee and a 50 €

service fee.

4.2. Other services

After registration for the trip and before the departure date, the costs incurred by any modification request, such as:

• additions or withdrawals of travel arrangements,

• modification of the departure date,

will be incurred by travelers and must be paid to Grand Angle. Any modification will incur a minimum of 50 € of service fees per modification. In the absence of payment, Grand Angle cannot be required to make the desired changes.

From the date of departure, any request for modification and/or non-realization of all or part of the services of the trip will not give rise to any refund of the initial services. Any new service requested during the trip will be paid in advance to Grand Angle or the designated service providers.

4.3. Assignment of the contract

In accordance with Article R 211-7 of the French Tourism Code, you have the possibility to assign your contract to an assignee (buyer) who fulfils the same conditions as you to make the trip as long as the contract has no effect. You are required to inform Grand Angle of your decision by any written means, allowing an acknowledgment of receipt at

least seven days before the start of the trip. In the event of an assignment of contract, the assignor and/or assignee are previously required to pay the costs incurred by the assignment which will be communicated to you by Grand Angle.

5/ Cancellation conditions and fees / Resolution

5.1. Cancellation by the traveler

If you are obliged to cancel your trip before it starts (departure date), you must inform Grand Angle and your insurer by any written means to obtain an acknowledgment of receipt, as soon as the event giving rise to this cancellation occurs. It is the date of receipt of the writing that will be retained as the date of cancellation for the billing of cancellation fees.

Please note that certain insurance fees, registration fees, visa and passport shipping fees, airport taxes, etc... are not refundable, either by Grand Angle, or by the insurer.

When several travelers are registered on the same booking number and one of them cancels their trip, the cancellation fees are deducted from the sums collected by Grand Angle, regardless of the author of the payment.

In case of cancellation, for any reason whatsoever, the costs external to the trip subscribed to Grand Angle and incurred by the traveler(s) such as transport costs to the place of departure of the trip and back home, visa fees, travel documents, vaccination costs, etc... cannot be refunded by Grand Angle.

5.1.1 Cancellation by the traveler for all trips, excluding tailormade/privatized trips, cruises and flights

In case of cancellation of your trip, the following cancellation/resolution fee will be

charged:

• More than 60 days before departure: 25% of the total price;

• From 60 to 31 days: 35% of the total price;

• From 30 to 21 days before departure: 40% of the total price;

• From 20 to 14 days before departure: 55% of the total price;

• From 13 to 7 days before departure: 70% of the total price;

• From 6 to 2 days before departure: 75% of the total price;

• Less than 2 days before departure or no show at departure: 95% of the total price.

In the case of group registration, your cancellation may result in changes in costs (i.e. single room supplement, group size sliding scaled rates, etc...) to the remaining participants. Your cancellation fees will cover those changes in costs.

In the special cases of air expenses, regardless of the date of cancellation or modification of contract, costs are added to the above scale: if your flight ticket must be issued well in advance, often to avoid significant surcharges, 100% of the non-refundable fees in case of cancellation or modification of your flight plan will be charged. In this case, the above cancellation fees scale only applies to the price of the trip without the flight.

In the case of "self-guided" trips: if the registration/trip has only 2 people total, the cancellation of one of these 2 people may result in the automatic cancellation of thesecond person.

5.1.2 Cancellation by the traveler for tailor-made/privatized trips

If one or more travelers registered on a privatized/tailor-made trip cancel(s) their participation in a trip maintained for the other participants, they will be charged for the person or persons who cancel(s):

• The cancellation fees referred to in article 5.1.1 above, unless otherwise stated on the contract, as well as

• The costs and/or various costs incurred by Grand Angle to allow the continuation of the trip subscribed at the same price for participants already registered and who maintain their participation in the trip. In any case, the price of a privatized and/or tailor-made trip is set according to a specific number of participants and the services necessary for the realization of the trip. The cancellation of one or more participants therefore has a direct impact on the price of the trip for all remaining registered participants. These additional costs are to be incurred by the participant(s) who cancel(s) their participation in the trip.

5.1.3 Cancellation by the traveler for all cruise trips and/or with accommodation on a boat

In case of cancellation of your trip, the following cancellation/resolution fee will be charged:

• More than 91 days before departure: 25% of the total price;

• From 90 to 42 days: 55% of the total price;

• From 41 to 30 days: 75% of the total price;

• From 29 to 15 days before departure: 90% of the total price;

• From 14 days before departure or no show at departure: 100% of the total price.

In the special cases of extra boat travel expenses, regardless of the date of cancellation or modification of contract: these costs are added to the above scale, if your ticket must be issued well in advance, often to avoid significant surcharges, 100% of the nonrefundable fees in case of cancellation or modification of your travel plan will be

charged. In this case the above scale only applies to the price of the trip without the boat travel.

5.1.4 Cancellation by the traveler for flights

The airline's cancellation policy applies.

5.1.5 Special cases

Exceptionally, some trips may have different cancellation policies. You will then find them mentioned in the data sheets; These are the ones that will apply in case of cancellation on your part.

5.2. Cancellation due to Grand Angle

5.2.1. Cancellation due to insufficient number of participants

We may exceptionally be forced to cancel a departure if the minimum number of participants required to operate the trip is not reached. This decision will be communicated to registered guests at the latest:

• 20 days before the start of the trip or stay in the case of trips lasting more than 6 days;

• 7 days before the start of the trip or stay in the case of trips lasting 2 to 6 days;

• 48 hours before the start of the trip or stay in the case of trips lasting no more than 2 days.

An alternative solution may be proposed. If the proposed alternatives do not suit you, your payments will be returned in full, without further compensation. All expenses incurred by you remain at your expense (purchase of tickets, hotel, equipment necessary for the trip, etc.).

5.2.2. Causes of cancellation related to a local situation at risk

(political, health, natural disaster) may also occur in which case the provisions of Article 10 hereof will be applied.

6/ Insurance

The insurance company assesses, depending on the documents you provide, the date of the chargeable event that led to the decision to cancel the trip to reimburse the cancellation costs.

6.1 Repatriation assistance

Grand Angle asks all its customers to be covered during their trip in Repatriation Assistance, Public Liability and Search and Rescue Costs. If you do not subscribe to the Assurinco contracts offered by Grand Angle, you agree to be covered by Repatriation Assistance, Public Liability and Search and Rescue Costs, and you send the contact details (company, contract number(s) and contact(s) to Grand Angle before your departure.

7/ Conditions of carriage

7.1. Identity of the carrier

The identity of the carrier(s) likely to provide your transport during your trip will be communicated to you. In the event of a change occurring after your registration, Grand Angle undertakes to communicate to you by any means, as soon as it becomes aware of  it, any changes in the identity of the carrier(s), in particular by air. In accordance with our

obligation, we inform you that the European list of banned airlines can be consulted on this website.

7.2. Change of transport timetable

For air transport, we inform you that flight schedules may vary until the departure of the trip and this according to the traffic authorizations given by the competent authorities to the companies. We will send you the schedules as soon as they are confirmed by the carrier.

Stopover times are usually determined by airlines, according to their flight plans; They can be modified, without this being a reason for cancellation free of charge.

Any flight can take place at any time of the scheduled day and may involve arriving at the airport a few hours before the start of that day and a maximum of 3 hours before.

7.3. Change of route, station, port and/or airport

Any carrier may be required to modify without notice not only the timetable but also the itinerary as well as the stations, ports and/or airports of departure and destination, due to technical, climatic or political incidents external to Grand Angle or strikes external to Grand Angle. These events may result in delays, cancellations, additional stopovers,

changes of aircraft or routes. In the case of air travel, the passenger holding a boarding pass remains under the protection and assistance of the airline.

7.4. Non-performance of the transport service

In case of non-performance of the transport service booked by the passenger, for any reason external to Grand Angle, the outward and/or return transport ticket will be cancelled by the carrier. The traveler must then, in order to make the trip, buy one or more tickets at his own expense. For air tickets, boarding taxes for unused tickets are refunded on request (art L 224-66 of the French Consumer Code).

7.5. Delay/Cancellation of transport services

In the event of delay in carriage at departure or return from the trip and/or damage or loss of luggage, denied boarding, and/or cancellation of flight by the company, we recommend that the traveler, to enable themselves to assert their rights, keep all original  documents (tickets, boarding passes or baggage tag ...) and to request from the carrier

any written proof.

If the participant(s) decide(s) to cancel the trip due to the occurrence of the changes set out above while they do not affect one of the essential elements of the trip, they will be charged the cancellation/cancellation fee referred to in Article 5.1 above.

7.6. Baggage

The airline is solely responsible for damage, theft, loss or delay of baggage entrusted to it. It is with this carrier that you must report the loss at the counter of the latter at the airport and in writing as soon as possible. International conventions define the time limits for protest and the compensation payable by the air carrier in the event of delay in

delivery or damage to baggage.

Each traveler is required to always keep with them and under their own responsibility any fragile and/or precious personal effects (glasses, electronic devices, documents, etc.) and must ensure the presence of their luggage when organizing transfers.

8/ Special terms and conditions of our trips

8.1. Routing before departure and on return from the trip

For each traveler who organizes their services alone before departure (transport, hotel ...) to the place of commencement of the trip and to their home on return from the trip, Grand Angle recommends buying services (tickets and others ...) modifiable and/or refundable and to allow reasonable transfer times between airports/ports/stations.

In the event of the occurrence of an unforeseeable or unavoidable event of a third party or the fact of the traveler, which would modify the travel services subscribed to Grand Angle and/or would imply the modification of the services booked by the traveler(s) (not included in your trip), Grand Angle cannot be held to reimburse the costs incurred.

8.2. Animals

Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring any animals on our trips, unless specified and expressly agreed between the customer and Grand Angle (in the case of some tailormade trips, for example). Failure to comply with this instruction would imply the cancellation of the trip without a refund.

9/ Financial terms

9.1. Prices

The prices applicable on the day of registration are those accessible on the website for a trip, or those of a valid quote for any other tailor-made/personalized trip. They cover the time from the point of reception for the commencement of the journey to the point of departure on the last day of the journey. The services included and not included during the tour are specified in the detailed program, available at any time on the website or on request.

9.2. Methods of price revision

The price of the trip is firm, final and in Euro. However, in accordance with Article L211- 12 of the French Tourism Code, up to 20 days before departure, Grand Angle may make price adjustments upwards or downwards, if they are not significant, without having to waive regular cancellation/resolution charges to guests. The following categories allow

price revision:

• The price of passenger transport resulting from the cost of fuel or other energy sources;

• The level of taxes or fees on travel services included in the contract, imposed by a third party that does not participate directly in the execution of the contract, including tourist taxes, landing or embarkation and disembarkation taxes at ports and airports;

• Exchange rates related to the contract; the variation in the cost of currencies will apply only to the amount of currency that enters the calculation of the price of the trip.

Grand Angle will then charge the customer the full additional cost. The refusal to pay this price adjustment will be considered a cancellation by the traveler for which Article

5.1 will be applied.

10/ Liability

10.1. Public liability insurance

In accordance with French and European laws, Grand Angle is insured for public liability with Helvetia Swiss Insurance Company located 81 boulevard Carnot – 31000 Toulouse.

10.2. Risks involved

Each participant should be aware of certain inherent risks in the practice of hiking and the potential for long distance travel to reach medical centers while on all trips. The participant assumes full knowledge of these facts and undertakes not to hold Grand Angle and the various service providers responsible for accidents or incidents that may

occur as a result of these risks. This also applies to the beneficiaries and any family members of any participant. Grand Angle cannot be held responsible for an accident due to individual carelessness, a personal error of itinerary or a voluntary interruption during the trip (in particular for climatic reasons).

10.3. Grand Angle Liability

Grand Angle cannot be held responsible for the consequences of the following events:

• Loss or theft of transport tickets by the traveler(s).

• Failure to present to the authorities and/or carriers (airlines etc.) the administrative and/or health documents required to undertake the journey and/or cross borders, in accordance with the information given by Grand Angle. -

Arrival after the scheduled time at check-in and/or boarding of any transport journey including air. No refund of the transport ticket will be due by Grand Angle in this case.

• Unforeseeable or unavoidable events of a third party such as: wars, political unrest, strikes outside Grand Angle, riots outside Grand Angle, technical or administrative incidents outside Grand Angle, congestion of airspace, bad

weather, delays (including in mail delivery services...), breakdowns, loss or theft of luggage or other personal effects of travelers.

• Cancellation imposed by exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, and/or for reasons related to the maintenance of the safety of travelers, and/or injunction of an administrative authority: in this case, Grand Angle reserves the right to modify the dates, times or itineraries planned to ensure the safety of travelers, without possible recourse of the latter.
