Diyarbakır is renowned for its impressive ancient city walls, which are among the longest and best-preserved in the world. Istanbul Arrival

Welcome to Turkey and Istanbul. 

Your English-speaking transfer consultant will meet you at the gate of the Istanbul International Airport- International Arrivals Terminal.

You will then be transferred to your hotel in Istanbul for some relaxation and refreshments.

The day ends with your hotel accommodation.

Istanbul

Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel. Today’s tour will start with a visit to the Roman Hippodrome, that used to be one of the Roman World's largest stadiums where chariot races and gladiator fights took place.


Next will be the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), the masterpiece of 17th century Ottoman imperial mosque architecture; famous for its unique, handmade, original Iznik Tiles, impressing visitors with their rich, predominant blue colors and oriental patterns, which have become collective items auctioned at celebrated houses like the Sotheby’s.


Then proceed to the Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya), built by Emperor Justinian in 537 AD as the biggest and the most impressive Christian cathedral of its style. It is one of the most extraordinary masterpieces in the history of world architecture. This awesome building inspired countless generations with its colossal definition of what the ideal interior space in a domed basilica should be, and with its innovations in weight-support and construction techniques. This exemplifies the very best of Byzantine, Renaissance, Christian and Islamic Art, due to Hagia Sophia’s unique religious and cultural heritage.


From the Hagia Sophia we will stroll to the magnificent Topkapi Palace, the first residence of the Ottoman Sultans for about 400 years, perfectly nestled at the Historical Peninsula where they ruled three continents and seven seas. Currently, Topkapi Palace offers its visitors great displays of the Ottoman Family Dynasty Collections including; 86 carat Kasikci (Spoonmaker's) Diamond, the Topkapi Dagger, The Golden Throne, The Holy Relics and many more. 


After lunch, next visit will be Spice Market, located in the heart of Istanbul, the Spice Market, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar, is a vibrant and aromatic marketplace. Dating back to the 17th century, this historic market offers a rich variety of spices, herbs, dried fruits, nuts, and traditional Turkish delights. It's a must-visit destination for experiencing the exotic flavors.


Today’s last visit will be the Grand Bazaar (Kapalicarsi). No bazaar, however, is more dazzling than the Grand Bazaar, built in 1461 and has been in service ever since. Along with magnificent mosque complexes, the mother of all bazaars was a monument to the “Rise of Istanbul”- the great master plan of the Turks for the rejuvenation and reanimation of an old imperial capital. It contains 4.000 shops, employing more than 20.000 people all under one roof. Everything imaginable is for sale including; gold and silver jewelry, rugs, carpets, antiques, tiles, leather, souvenirs, but just seeing and experiencing this mother of all bazaars is worth the trip.

Istanbul / Gaziantep

After checking out from the hotel, meet your guide in the lobby and proceed to Istanbul International Airport for your flight to Gaziantep, where your exploration of the city will begin.

Gaziantep is one of the largest cities in Turkey and the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Bearing witness to many civilizations and empires, the region exudes a timeless elegance. Here, you will visit the world-class Archaeology Museum and the Zeugma Museum, known for its collection of mosaics recovered from the sunken Roman site near Zeugma, along with the famous Archaeology Museum. From the captivating mosaics of Zeugma to the aromatic bazaars filled with exotic spices, Gaziantep lays the story of ancient civilizations at your feet.

Gaziantep Castle, with its imposing presence and commanding views, echoes centuries of history and resilience in the heart of the city.

Coppersmith Bazaar, a historic market that dates back to the Ottoman period. Famous for its traditional copper crafts, the bazaar has been a center for metalworking and trade for centuries. As you wander through the narrow alleys, you’ll get a glimpse of the region’s rich cultural heritage and the time-honored techniques used by local artisans.

As the sun sets and casts a warm glow over the city, you will experience the true magic of Gaziantep. Gaziantep / Adıyaman

After breakfast, you will proceed to Adıyaman, a city located in the heart of southeastern Turkey, just 2 hours and 30 minutes away. Known for its rich history, culture, and natural beauty, Adıyaman offers a unique opportunity to connect with the region's ancient heritage and explore its remarkable historical landmarks.

Our first stop will be the Adıyaman Museum, which houses a diverse collection of artifacts that trace the region's rich history, from ancient civilizations to the present day. Exhibits include archaeological finds from nearby sites like Perre and artifacts reflecting local culture and traditions, offering visitors a glimpse into Adıyaman's cultural tapestry through the ages.

Perre Ancient City is a remarkable archaeological site dating back to the Roman period. Known for its well-preserved ruins and intricate rock-cut tombs, Perre offers a glimpse into ancient urban life and burial customs of the region. The site's strategic location and historical significance make it a compelling destination for history enthusiasts and archaeology buffs alike.

Cendere Bridge is an ancient Roman bridge spanning the Cendere Stream. Built during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus in the 3rd century AD, it is renowned for its impressive engineering and architectural design. The bridge continues to stand as a testament to Roman ingenuity and is a significant cultural landmark in the region.

Adıyaman / Sanlıurfa

You will leave the hotel early in the morning at the sunrise with your breakfast boxes, and after a 2-hour drive, you will arrive at the magnificent Mount Nemrut.

Then, you will begin your day with the world’s most beautiful sunrise at Nemrut, where you can optionally immerse yourself in its rich history by climbing to the summit. Incredible statues and colossal tombs await you at the mountain's summit. The site has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage.

Our journey will continue with Göbeklitepe. This place is the oldest known archaeological site with monumental structures in the world and is one of the most significant discoveries that reshapes human history. Göbeklitepe dates back approximately 12,000 years. This ancient settlement is notable for its massive T-shaped stone pillars adorned with animal figures. Göbeklitepe is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and remains a highly researched area for archaeologists.

Balıklıgöl has a rich history both in terms of religion and history. According to legends, it is believed that around the park area of Balıklıgöl, Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire but remained unharmed. The lake is considered the place where the fire Abraham was thrown into existed. Balıklıgöl takes its name from the clarity of its water and the fish within it. According to legend, these fish are considered sacred, and harming or catching them is prohibited.

In the evening, there will be an optional visit to a Sıra Gecesi (Traditional Turkish Night), offering a great opportunity to experience both local culture and cuisine. Guests can enjoy traditional Turkish music and folk dances while savoring delicious regional dishes served throughout the evening. It's a lively and memorable night, where you can indulge in authentic Turkish flavors while being entertained by music and dance.

Sanlıurfa / Mardin

After a delicious breakfast, you will begin your day with a scenic drive to Midyat, Mardin. (2 hours 45 minutes)

Along the way, you will have the opportunity to explore some of the region's rich archaeological sites, starting with Karahantepe. This ancient settlement, located in Şanlıurfa province, is particularly renowned for its remains from the Early Bronze Age, providing a fascinating glimpse into the area's prehistoric past.

Your first visit in Mardin will be to Dara, which dates back to the ancient Mesopotamian period and is known as a city of the Sasanian Empire with Persian origins. The city is notable for its sturdy defensive walls and underground structures built for defensive purposes. Excavations at Dara have revealed various architectural remains, including the city center, palaces, temples, and cisterns.

Mor Gabriel Monastery is an architectural and cultural landmark, renowned as an ancient Syriac Orthodox monastery. Founded in 397, it stands as one of the oldest Syriac monasteries in the world. Within its grounds are churches, chapels, living quarters, a library, and historical artifacts. Additionally, the monastery serves as a significant center for the Syriac Orthodox Church.

Midyat is also famous for its bazaar, where you can find hundreds of varieties of silver jewelry. The handmade jewelry specific to Mardin is called Telkari. Additionally, you can discover dozens of exquisite handmade Assyrian wines.

One of the largest stone mansions you can visit in the bazaar is the Guesthouse. When you step inside, you will be enchanted by the magic of this mansion, which is one of the finest examples of stone architecture.

Mardin

After a delicious breakfast, you will spend the entire day exploring Mardin with your guide. You will surely fall in love with the old town, where the streets are lined with traditional stone houses. A bustling bazaar and delicious local cuisine will also be waiting for you to discover.


Your day starts with Deyrulzafaran Monastery dates back to the 5th century and has been expanded and restored multiple times over the centuries. The monastery is renowned for its impressive architecture and especially for the frescoes in its interior. Within the monastery complex, there are churches, chapels, living quarters, and a library. It continues to serve as a place of education, with one of the most intriguing areas being the Sun Temple located underground.


Kasımiye Medresesi, built by Artukid ruler Melik Necmeddin Isa in the 15th century, is considered one of the important examples of Artukid architecture. It served as an educational center during its time. The structure stands out with its traditional Artukid motifs and craftsmanship.


Your next visit is the impressive Ulu Camii (Great Mosque), one of the oldest and most significant landmarks in the city. Built in the 12th century, the mosque is known for its stunning Seljuk architecture, intricate stone carvings, and beautiful minaret. The peaceful ambiance and historical significance make it a must-see destination for anyone exploring Mardin's rich cultural heritage.


In the afternoon, you can optionally sample Mardin Syriac wines. These wines reflect the region's rich cultural heritage and ancient winemaking traditions. They are typically made from indigenous grape varieties and are known for their distinct flavors and aromas. During a wine tasting experience, you can explore a selection of these wines, learn about the production process, and enjoy pairing them with local delicacies, enhancing your appreciation of Mardin’s culinary offerings.

Mardin / Diyarbakır

After Breakfast, you will proceed to Diyarbakır. (1 Hour 30 Minute).

On your way to Diyarbakır, you will visit Zerzevan Castle, an ancient fortress located near Mardin, known for its strategic position and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The castle dates back to Roman times and was used as a military outpost, with remains of temples, a Roman watchtower, and defensive walls still visible today. Zerzevan Castle offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's history, blending military architecture with cultural significance.

Upon arrival in Diyarbakır, you will be welcomed and then proceed to visit 10 Eyes Bridge, a historic stone bridge located just outside the city. Dating back to the 13th century, this remarkable structure was built during the Artuqid period and spans the Mezopotamya plains, connecting key trade routes of the time. Its impressive architecture and scenic surroundings make it a perfect introduction to the region's rich history and engineering heritage.

After lunch you will visit Diyarbakır Walls are among the longest and best-preserved city walls in the world. Believed to date back to 3000 BC, these walls reflect the city's historical and military past. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this structure attracts visitors with its architectural beauty and historical significance.

Your next visit is Diyarbakır Ulu Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Turkey, constructed in 639 AD. A beautiful example of Seljuk architecture, this mosque is particularly noted for its stone craftsmanship and elegant details in the interior. It holds significance as both a place of worship and a historical site.

Today’s last visit is the Diyarbakır Archaeology Museum is an important institution that showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of the region. The museum features artifacts and remains from the Urartian, Roman, Byzantine, and Seljuk periods. Visitors have the opportunity to explore ancient inscriptions, sculptures, and everyday objects, offering a glimpse into the past.

Diyarbakır / Istanbul

After breakfast, you will back to on a domestic flight to İstanbul.

Departure Istanbul

After breakfast, we will drive you to the airport to your final destination. We hope to see you again in the not too distant in the future.

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & BOOKING CHANGES

- In given Group or FIT rates, number of the Children cannot exceed 10% and Infant cannot exceed 5% of the actual group size. In such a case, new calculation will be required to operate.

- Above Tour Package Includes Compulsory Shopping such as Leather, Carpet, Turkish Delight, Jewelry, Pottery based on Tour Length. For Non Shopping tours, please kindly ask re calculation.

- Responsibility for Luggage allowance is 15Kg for each passenger that Domestic tickets being issued by Dorak Tours. Any excess luggage exceed mentioned allowance will be paid by customer or booking party directly at the Airports.

- Tour Packages that includes Domestic Airfare, only valid for bookings 40 Days before arrival. Bookings processed after this deadline may apply supplement depending on latest airfare of Airline Companies. 

- Notice of cancellation must be made in writing directly to us.

- The following scale of charges will apply, per person, when cancellation is notified for Tour packages with hotel Accommodation.

- Agents cannot re-schedule tour or booking dates to waive no show fee borne by the Hotels due revision or actual cancellation.

Between 40-21 Days 30% of the package cost

Between 20-15 Days 75% of the package cost

Between 14-00 Days 100% of the package cost

- In case customers have to withdraw from a tour after it has begun for reasons such as illness, be sure to obtain a medical certificate in support of any insurance claim. We regret that we are not able to make refunds from absences from a tour, including missed nights and sightseeing.

- No refund will be made in respect to accommodation, meals, sightseeing tour or any other services which are included in the tour fare but not utilized by the tour participant, either in part or full, or where passenger amends, cancels or otherwise varies

arrangements after commencement of the tour. No refund policy will be also applied for tours that cannot be operated due weather conditions such as Cable Car or Hot Air Balloon.

- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond our control. Should this occur, we will offer you an alternative arrangement. If there is a difference in cost this will be for your account. If you do not accept this alternative arrangement within 7 days we may treat this contract as at an end. We will refund all monies and will then be under no further liability. Dorak Tours is not responsible for any costs for other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.

- No claim will be considered and no action will lie against Dorak Tours unless a typewritten notice of claim is received by registered mails by Dorak Tours within 3 weeks of the completed tour. No refunds will be made for unused services once travel arrangements have commenced. Typewritten claims must be received within 3 weeks after scheduled return date by registered mail.

- There will be no refund for unconfirmed cancellations or room changes, That is why, please kindly ensure that your request has been received by appointed operation department and confirmed in return.

- Dorak Tours may act solely in its capacity as marketing agent on behalf of its suppliers such as air carriers, ground operators , cruise lines and hotels identified on documents supplied in connection with purchase of the tours. Dorak Tours shall not be held

responsible for any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions by any supplier or other party not directly owned or controlled by Dorak Tours, or by the failure of any equipment operated by any such supplier or other party.
