Cornwall tour starting in London

Depart London at 8.00am setting off for Cornwall. Our destination the historic town of Tintagel home of the legend of King Arthur. We have the afternoon to immerse ourselves in the history and myths of Tintagel, visit King Arthur’s castle. Walk the spectacular newly created rope bridge. You could also explore the coastal path and lose yourself in the stunning breathtaking scenery. Feel that Cornish air we have certainly arrived in paradise. Overnight stay in North Cornwall.

We start the day with a visit to the uniquely named Lost Gardens of Heligan, and lose ourselves for a while in this lush 150-year-old botanical estate known for extraordinary rhododendrons and subtropical ferns. We then drive on to the historic town of Charlestown. The afternoon we visit the number one tourist destination in Cornwall: the Eden Project—two huge biomes constructed in a 160-year-old disused china clay mine. Why not book the zipline and fly like a bird over this inspirational place We overnight in North Cornwall (same hotel as Monday night)

We leave Tintagel and head 20 minutes down the stunning North Cornish coast to the charming town of Port Isaac – home of the world famous Doc Martin. We have time to stroll the streets of this stunning town. Enjoy a drink at the old schoolhouse, visit the surgery and see if the Doc is home! The afternoon head for the amazing island world of St. Michaels Mount, where you can wander around the ancient castle that is steeped in history of a time gone by. Also enjoy a walk through its sub-tropical gardens at your leisure. The late afternoon sees us head to the delightful, picturesque town of St Ives where you can walk its beaches, explore its many boutique shops and galleries including the St Ives Tate. Overnight stay in St Ives.

Head out to experience the legendary Lands End with its stunning wild scenery, cliff- top walks and many attractions. For the Poldark fans amongst you, Lands End is not far from stunning cliffs of Porthgwwara another popular spot for Captain Ross Poldark himself! From here we journey on to the unique Minack Theatre (shows can be booked subject to availability) and the sweeping landscapes surrounding the area. We also visit Marry Maidens Cornwall very own Stonehenge. Head back to St Ives with time to continue exploring this beautiful coastal town. Overnight stay in St Ives.

Spend the morning exploring the narrow streets of the picturesque medieval town of Fowey. Then we move on to the National Trust property of Lanhydrock, where we will wander around its magnificent gardens and 17th century home. We say our goodbyes to Cornwall as we head up to Devon’s historic capital city of Exeter, the most southwesterly Roman fortified settlement in Britain. With its 12th Century cathedral, there is loads to see and do. We will have a 90 minute walking tour of Exeter old and new. In the afternoon, you can stroll Exeter’s quaint streets and perhaps dip into a tea shop for the pleasure of an English afternoon tea. Overnight stay in Exeter.

Leave Exeter 8.30am, arrive London 2.30pm where the tour will come to an end.
