07 Day Sacred valley, short Inca trail & Rainbow Mountain

• The adventure begins early with a scenic drive to the Inca agricultural terraces of Moray, located at approximately 3,500 meters (11,483 feet), roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes from Cusco. Along the route, you'll take in breathtaking views of the snow-capped Andes, golden wheat fields, and charming local villages. At Moray, explore the amphitheater-like terraces believed to have been used for agricultural experiments during the Inca era.
• Next, visit the ancient salt mines of Maras, located at 3,380 meters (11,089 feet), where over 3,000 salt pools cascade down the mountainside, a tradition that dates back to pre-Inca times. Finally, we'll visit Chinchero at 3,762 meters (12,343 feet), a town known for its well-preserved Inca walls, colonial church, and vibrant textile weaving tradition. Learn about Andean weaving techniques that have been passed down through generations and marvel at their intricate artistry.

• Start the day with a private transfer to Ollantaytambo (2,792 meters / 9,160 feet), where you'll board a train to kilometer 104—the starting point of the Short Inca Trail, located at 2,100 meters (6,890 feet). Trek along the lush Urubamba River, ascending through cloud forests filled with diverse flora and fauna, including orchids, hummingbirds, and even the elusive Andean spectacled bear.
• Reach the stunning Inca ruins of Wiñay Wayna at 2,650 meters (8,694 feet) before continuing to Inti Punku (Sun Gate) at 2,720 meters (8,924 feet), where you'll be rewarded with your first panoramic views of Machu Picchu (2,430 meters / 7,972 feet). Descend to Aguas Calientes (2,040 meters / 6,693 feet) for a well-deserved rest.

• The day begins early with breakfast before boarding one of the morning buses to Machu Picchu. Upon entering the Inca citadel, your guide will lead you on an in-depth tour, sharing the captivating history of this iconic site and explaining its most remarkable features, such as temples, ceremonial areas, terraces, and storage structures. 
• If you’ve secured an additional ticket in advance, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for a breathtaking perspective of the surroundings.
• After the guided tour, the group will return to Aguas Calientes for a well-deserved rest and lunch at one of the town's cozy restaurants. In the afternoon or evening, you will have the option to visit the Aguas Calientes hot springs, a perfect way to relax and soothe your muscles after days of trekking. Enjoy the warm, therapeutic waters surrounded by lush mountains.

• In the morning, we will return by train to Ollantaytambo (2,792 meters / 9,160 feet), an impressive archaeological site that rivals Machu Picchu in grandeur. After exploring its terraced ruins and original Inca urban layout, you’ll visit Pisaq (2,972 meters / 9,751 feet), an Inca metropolis perched high on a mountain. The archaeological site is shaped like a partridge when seen from the air and features intricate agricultural terraces and temples.
• After exploring these archeological sites, enjoy some free time to visit Pisaq’s vibrant handicraft market, where you can interact with local artisans and shop for unique souvenirs.

• This day begins early, between 4:00 and 5:00 AM, as we head south to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), located at 5,020 meters (16,466 feet). Along the drive, pass through Cusipata village (3,329 meters / 12,772 feet) and admire views of Ausangate Mountain (6,384 meters / 20,945 feet), the highest peak in Cusco. Herds of llamas and alpacas are common along the route, as well as glimpses of local shepherds in their traditional attire.
• The hike begins at Phuluwasipata (3,890 meters / 12,772 feet) and takes approximately 2 hours to reach Rainbow Mountain, where you’ll marvel at the vibrant natural stripes of red, yellow, and turquoise that paint the landscape. Spend about 30 minutes at the summit before descending to enjoy a fresh lunch at a nearby village. Return to your hotel in Cusco in the late afternoon.
