National Park Koli. Explore the Hills of Koli. 

The view opening up from Ukko-Koli Hill to Lake Pielinen is one of the most famous national landscapes in Finland.  When you take in the marvellous view over Lake Pielinen from the top of Ukko-Koli hill, it's easy to see why this spot has attracted so many Finnish artists, photographers and nature-lovers over the centuries. The splendid scenery always instills a sense of serenity and wonder in visitors. Koli's hills and lakes provide fine settings for enjoyable outings and activities at any time of year. 

There are about 80 km of marked trails in the Koli National Park, the length of which vary from one and a half to 61 kilometres. As some of the trails are demanding and others are less so, you can choose the trail according to your level of physical fitness and the time you have available. The guides at Koli Nature Centre Ukko are more than happy to help you in planning your hike. Even so, it is advisable to take along the Koli outdoor and service map.  Nationalpark Koli

Wildlife watching tour

The Uuronlampi observation lodges are situated in a beautiful spot by the lake. The opposite shore is a steeply rising wilderness. The lodges are secure wood log cabins where you sit on comfortable chairs or even take a little break and lie down in a bunk and have a little snack.

PROGRAMME: 

- arrival at Wildlife Lodge of Keljanpuro Brook at 2 pm

- welcoming coffee, Karelian pasty and sweet bun

- introduction to the organizing company, info about predators and watching wildlife

- driving to the watching place by car at 3 pm

- wildlife watching, snack during evening and night, possibility to sleep

- return to Keljanpuro Brook in the following morning around 8 am and breakfast

• Returning to the the Guesthouse.

• Visit to the city of Nurmes and visit to the Karelian village. Shopping.
• Dinner and Sauna at the Guesthouse.
