The best ski week for ski lovers

Prepare for the ultimate skiing getaway in the stunning wilderness of North Karelia! This tailored winter escape focuses on exhilarating skiing experiences, where you’ll glide across snow-covered landscapes, conquer scenic trails, and enjoy authentic Finnish relaxation in between. From beginners to seasoned skiers, this trip offers something for everyone who loves countryside and the serenity of nature. Welcome taste of delicious Karelia á la carte as well. Accommodation in a cozy guesthouse Laitalan Lomat at Karhunpää (Bear's head) village. All tours are guided.

The group is an international group. The guidance will be in English. One or two guides per group.

Suitable for: Beginners and experienced skiing and outdoor enthusiasts.

День 1

Arrival in North Karelia – Your Ski Adventure Begins

Arrive at a cozy guesthouse and prepare for an exciting week. After settling in, enjoy a delicious welcome dinner in the peaceful winter surroundings. (Transportation from Kuopio Airport is included in the price.)

День 2

Ski School and Scenic Skiing

We start our adventure at the beginner-friendly ski school, perfect for newcomers to the sport. More experienced skiers will embark on an exciting 15 km ski tour on the guesthouse's own track. After skiing, you can relax with lunch. Free time to have other outdoor activities and enjoy the soothing warmth of the sauna. Guesthouse dinner: Local menu: a delicious local menu showcasing the best flavors of the region.

День 3

Ski school day two

We ski on the well-maintained trails of Vatimo village. The trails are ski tours and the skiing terrain is easy. The trails are 2.8 - 8 km long. Beginner skiers can ski according to their own fitness. More experienced skiers can ski longer runs. There is a lean-to on the shore where we enjoy a picnic lunch by an open fire. There is also an open-air swimming opportunity on the shore. Back to the Laitala guesthouse. Sauna. Guesthouse dinner: Forest-inspired menu, offering authentic flavors from the local forest.

День 4

Laitala House – Skiing and Relaxation

We will explore the Laitala's ski track, where the peaceful landscape will take your breath away. You can decide the ski trip yourself, the maximum distance is 15 km. We will enjoy a picnic in the hut. After skiing and picnic lunch, we will relax. Evening sauna and hot tub. Dinner, a special Lapland menu, offering authentic flavors from the northern regions of Finland.

День 5

Koli National Park

We head to the majestic Koli National Park for an incredible day of snowshoeing. We will go on a guided snowshoe hike through the untouched winter landscapes of Koli, after which you will visit the Ukko Nature Center. After lunch in Koli, we will explore the village of Koli. On the Koli excursion, you can also try downhill skiing independently. Equipment is conveniently available for rent on site. From Koli, we will return to the guesthouse. Relaxing sauna. Guesthouse dinner: Lake-inspired menu, offering authentic flavors from the local Lakes.

День 6

Haikola House – Skiing in a Winter Wonderland

We will go on an exciting 10 km ski trip to Haikola House. The track is flat and easy. At Haikola House you can enjoy a picnic outside by the open fire. More experienced skiers can ski back to the starting point in Bomba village. After skiing we will go to enjoy the Karelian spa in Bomba. After the spa, return to the guesthouse. Dinner Taste of Finland menu will give you a taste of Finnish culinary tradition.

День 7

Forest Skiing and Local Exploration

We will learn to ski in the forest on sliding snowshoes, a unique Finnish experience suitable for all skill levels. Lunch at the guesthouse. In the afternoon we will head to the charming town of Nurmes for free time and shopping. Return to the guesthouse and relax in the soothing sauna. Farewell dinner with Karelian delicacies.

Departure – Farewell to Your Skiing Adventure

Hei, hei. Time to say Goodbye. Depart with unforgettable memories of snow-covered trails and the beauty of Finnish winter.

CANCELLATION BY YOU

Any cancellation by you must be made in writing (letter or email). The date on the letter/email received by us will determine the cancellation charges applicable. The cancellation charges are expressed as a percentage of the total

tour price. These charges are as follows:

• More than 30 days before commencement of the tour: 0 % of the total cost.

• Between 29 and 15 days before commencement of the tour: 20 %

• Between 14 and 7 days before commencement of the tour: 40 %

• Less than 6 days before commencement of the tour 60 %

• On the day of the commencement of the tour or now-show 100 % of the total cost.

CANCELLATION BY US

When a change is a major change, we will advise you as soon as possible. You will then have the choice of accepting

the change, taking an alternative holiday (and where this is of a lower price we will refund the difference), or

withdrawing from the contract and accepting a full refund of all monies paid. Major changes are cancellation due to

underbooking or force majeure.

Force majeure is unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequence of which neither

we nor our suppliers could avoid, even with the exercise of all due care.
