After a relaxed morning breakfast at the hotel, embark on a 5 to 6-hour drive to Chitwan, often referred to as the "Heart of the jungle." Situated in the lush valley of the Chitwan District, approximately 75 miles southwest of Kathmandu, Chitwan is recognized as one of Asia's finest and richest wildlife sanctuaries. Established in 1973, the Chitwan National Park was the first national park in Nepal and received UNESCO World Heritage Site (Natural) designation in 1984.
Chitwan National Park offers an authentic wilderness experience, featuring high humidity, verdant riverine grasslands, densely forested hills, and a serene backdrop of crickets' harmonious melodies. The park is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, including a remarkable variety of bird species, the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, rare Gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles, and a substantial population of Asian rhinoceros.
Upon arrival at the hotel, welcome drinks will be served, and after checking into your respective rooms, lunch will be provided. During lunch, you'll receive a briefing about the resort's accommodations and the natural surroundings. The evening unfolds with dinner starting around 19:30, accompanied by a traditional Tharu cultural show performed by local residents. The Tharu Cultural program, a vital aspect of entertaining tourists visiting Chitwan National Park, showcases traditional Tharu dances. Highlights of the cultural show include dances like Danda Nach (Stick Dance), Ago Nach (Fire Dance), and Mayur Nach (Peacock Dance). The program, lasting for 45 minutes, typically begins at 6:00 pm and concludes at 8:00 pm every evening or upon demand.
