After breakfast, visit the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple (optional), dedicated to Neelkanth (a form of Lord Shiva). Inside the temple complex is a natural spring where devotees go for ablution before entering the main temple. As per Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva consumed poison from the ocean in order to protect the universe, which he kept in his throat. This is how he got the name Neelkanth, where Neel means blue and Kanth means throat. Visit the Parmarth Niketan, an ashram where pilgrims and tourists visit to achieve upliftment of body, mind, and spirit and to strengthen bonds with the Supreme God. Later, proceed to Swargashram, a spiritual abode dedicated to Swami Vishudhanand. You can take a Yoga session here (at your own expense). Move ahead to Ram Jhula. This is an iron-made bridge located across the River Ganga at a height of 70 feet. This bridge is a must-visit in Rishikesh. Drive back to Haridwar. Overnight stay at a hotel in Haridwar.
