10-Days Morocco imperial tour from Casablaanca & Desert, Berber Villages

After breakfast, once we leave the city, it's about a five-hour drive to Chefchaouen. If you arrive early, we could include a visit to the Hassan II mosque. We travel north along the Atlantic coast to the imperial city and capital of Rabat, where we can stop for lunch if you wish. Continuing on, we reach wooded slopes and lakes, which means we're approaching the blue city of Chefchaouen. You'll stay in a typical hotel and spend the night exploring.

Today our 10-Day Morocco tour, start after breakfast, once we leave the city, it's about a five-hour drive to Chefchaouen. If you arrive early, we could include a visit to the Hassan II mosque. Our journey begins with a visit to the cultural and religious capital of the Kingdom. You'll be immersed in the magical atmosphere of an oriental medieval city, strolling through the winding, narrow streets of the ancient Medina and learning about the many historical and architectural monuments that adorned the former capital of the Kingdom of the Sultans of the Marinid and Alawite dynasties.

Most of these monuments are excellent examples of the Moorish architectural style. You'll visit the Bu Inanya mosque, see the madrassas (Muslim universities), Nejarin square and the fountain. You'll find yourself in the Craftsmen's Quarter, where leather and pottery artisans work using technology inherited from their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, the secrets of which have been carefully passed down from generation to generation. We then continue to the Jewish quarter, which is still present today. It shows the coexistence of the 2 communities, Muslim and Jewish.

Today we're off to the desert. After breakfast, we leave the hotel and head for Merzouga, one of the longest journeys, around 7 hours' drive, but with the change of scenery, we'll appreciate the time. On the way, we'll stop in Ifrane, which boasts a European climate and nature, parks with lakes and chalets, a ski resort and an abundance of snow in winter, giving the town the nickname “Moroccan Switzerland”. Around Ifrane, we can admire the majestic Atlas cedars and feed the wild monkeys on our way to Azrou. Monkeys are friendly, and like it when someone feeds them. Lunch stop in Midelt. Our route then crosses the gorge and valley of the River Ziz, and as we approach Er-Rashidiya, the landscape changes to desert. Once there, we'll take a camel ride to the desert camp, with comfortable beds and individual showers and toilets. In the evening, we'll have a Moroccan dinner, play drums around the fire and listen to desert Berber songs. We'll also enjoy the stars in the clear sky. Night at Luxury Morocco Desert camp.

We'll wake up at first light to watch the sunrise over the breathtaking, silent sand dunes. This moment will remain one of your most vivid impressions of Morocco!

After breakfast, we return to the village of Merzouga and continue our journey towards Dades Gorges . On the way, we'll pass through Rissani, home to the “Fossil Factory”, where you can see the many fossils this region is rich in. After about 3 hours, we'll stop for a panoramic photo near the picturesque town of Tinghir in the middle of a large palm oasis. We'll then continue on to the famous Todra Gorge, walk along the gorge and have lunch in a local restaurant. We continue our journey through the stunning village of Dadès.

Today, we'll take a short drive to the Dades Gorge, then continue on to Ouarzazate. We'll pass through Mgouna, where the annual Rose Festival is held. We continue our journey to the Skura oasis. It's a fertile palm oasis crossed by several rivers. We then continue to Ouarzazate, a 30-minute drive from Skura. Ouarzazate is often referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco”, as many historical films have been shot here. The Kasbah Taurirt is one of the town's historic sites, and we can visit the Kasbah, then visit the film museum and the Atlas film studio. We'll then take a short drive to Ait Ben Hadou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts many visitors because it's where Game Of Thrones was filmed. After our 1-hour visit, we'll head for Marrakech via the highest Atlas Mountains, Tizi n-Tishka at an altitude of 2260 m (3.5-4 hours excluding stops). We'll make photo stops along the way. This is one of Morocco's most picturesque roads, offering views of verdant river valleys with adobe villages and the ruins of ancient kasbahs. We then head for Marrakech. We'll be able to rest a while at the hotel and you'll have some free time.

Today is the first full day of your Moroccan tour, and it's dedicated to discovering the emblematic city of Marrakech.

After breakfast in your Riad, set off to experience the hustle and bustle of “Morocco's Red City” as you head to important historical and cultural sites.

During your tour, you'll have the chance to visit the Medina of Marrakech's red city, including the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace and Jemaa El Fna Square.

Take an early afternoon break with lunch near the main square, then enjoy a stroll through the atmospheric souk districts.
