Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu

• Today focuses on immersing yourself in Andean culture and exploring the Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo. After an early breakfast, we’ll visit a local family to learn about their way of life. The villagers, known for their hospitality, are as curious about you as you are about them. This is a unique opportunity to exchange stories and support the community by purchasing handmade crafts or offering small gifts.
• From the village, we’ll follow an original Inca Trail, descending into a secluded valley rich in native plants, vibrant flowers, and diverse birdlife. After approximately 2.5 hours, we’ll reach Huchuy Qosqo, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site while taking in breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley.
• In the afternoon, we’ll descend to the village of Lamay, where a van will take us to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll board a train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu.

Lodging: Golden Sunrise Hotel (or similar)

• We will begin the day with an early bus ride to Machu Picchu, giving us plenty of time to experience this iconic site. During a 2-hour guided tour, you’ll explore its most significant areas and learn about its fascinating history, architecture, and cultural importance.
• After the tour, you’ll have free time to continue exploring or, if you have the necessary permits, hike Huayna Picchu for stunning views of the citadel and surrounding landscapes.
• Later, after our visit to Machu Picchu, we’ll descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, board the train to Ollantaytambo, and finally continue by bus to Cusco, bringing this unforgettable journey to a close.
