5 Days Across the Georgia

*Itinerary: Day Trip from Tbilisi*  

­ 

- *Breakfast at the hotel*  

After enjoying breakfast, we will depart for Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities in Georgia.  

­ 

- *Mtskheta – Historical Highlights*  

Located about 20 km (12 miles) north of Tbilisi, Mtskheta is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was the ancient capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom.  

*Walk through the historic part of town* to reach the *Svetitskhoveli Cathedral*. This 11th-century masterpiece is renowned for its stunning architecture and is the second-largest church in Georgia, after Tbilisi's Holy Trinity Cathedral.

- *Jvari Monastery*  

Next, we will visit *Jvari Monastery* (Monastery of the Cross), another UNESCO World Heritage site, perched atop a hill with panoramic views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. This 6th-century monastery holds great religious significance and offers some of the best scenic views in the region.

- *Lunch – Taste of Georgian Cuisine*  

After soaking in the history and stunning views, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant to sample traditional Georgian cuisine.

- *Uplistsikhe Cave Town*  

Post lunch, we will drive to *Uplistsikhe* (meaning "Fortress of the Lord"), an ancient rock-hewn town situated on the left bank of the Mtkvari River. This extraordinary archaeological site contains structures from ancient civilizations, showcasing architectural styles and cultural artifacts that date back thousands of years.

                In the evenings come back to Tbilisi City    overnight in Tbilisi.

- After breakfast at the hotel, head towards Kazbegi via the scenic Georgian Military Road.

- The journey will take you through a dramatic range of heights, from 1700 meters to 5000 meters above sea level.

*Stop 1: Jinvali Dam (Water Reservoir)*

- Enjoy a panoramic view of the Aragvi River and surrounding mountains.

- The Jinvali Dam is an artificial water reservoir, offering a stunning backdrop of nature blending with the river flowing from the mountains.

­ 

*Stop 2: Ananuri Fortress Complex*

- Just a 10-minute drive from Jinvali, explore the 17th-century Ananuri Fortress.

- Perched on the banks of the Aragvi River, the complex is surrounded by a defense wall with impressive watchtowers.

- Take some time to explore the architecture and absorb the views over the reservoir.

*Lunch Stop: Pasanauri Village*

- Continue to Pasanauri, famous for serving the best khinkali (dumplings) in Georgia.

- Enjoy a traditional Georgian lunch and savor Pasanauri's signature khinkali.

­ 

*Stop 3: Gudauri Ski Resort*

- About an hour after lunch, you’ll reach the Gudauri ski resort, which is popular year-round.

- Visit the Gudauri panoramic viewpoint and the Georgian-Russian Friendship Monument. The monument offers breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountains.

*Final Stop: Gergeti Trinity Church*

- Head to the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, located near the village of Gergeti.

- The church sits atop a mountain at 2170 meters (7120 feet) under the towering Mount Kazbegi. Take in the majestic view of the mountains and valleys below.

   *Evening:*

- Return to Tbilisi for an overnight stay,

*Kakheti Wine Tour Itinerary:*

 After breakfast, at the Hotel depart for the Kakheti Wine Region. After about an hour of driving, stop at a local wine factory. Here, you'll enjoy a wine tasting session featuring four different wines, while learning about the traditional Georgian winemaking process.

­ then Drive to local Georgian sweets Market to test the sweets (Churchxela) made by juice of grapes and walnut in it, at the same place we will visit and test Georgian traditional wine maker (Marani) with a Clay pots (Qvevri) underground to keep the same tempiture troughout the year, which makes Georgian best dry wine.

- *Mid-Morning:*  

 Continue your journey with a stop to taste fresh, bread and cheese which is made in  traditional way of Georgia.

- Then drive to Sughnaghi Municipality  

 Visit the *Saint Nino Monastery Complex*, located just 2 km from Sighnaghi. This historic monastery, originally built in the 9th century, underwent significant renovations in the 17th century. Explore the beautiful garden, filled with flowers and trees, and experience the spiritual tranquility of this site.

- *Lunch:*  

 Head to *Sighnaghi*, also known as the "City of Love," located in the heart of Georgia's wine-growing region. visit the place with first tower was bult to Enjoy lunch with a stunning view of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains in the distance.

- After Lunch  

 Take a walking tour of Sighnaghi, exploring its charming streets and historic landmarks. Admire the town's defensive wall, complete with 25 watchtowers, and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Alazani Valley. this is a great place to test real wine icecream as well.

­ 

- *Evening:*  

 Return to Tbilisi in the evening. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.
