Day 1

Door de Trossachs naar Oban

Your wide-ranging tour begins by heading west through the beautiful scenery of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. You'll make a stop at Luss, an attractive village located on the shores of Loch Lomond, the largest freshwater loch in Scotland by area. Here, you'll have time to explore the heritage village, perhaps take a stroll along the water, or simply admire the breathtaking views across the iconic loch. Continuing your journey, you’ll travel through the stunning landscapes of Argyll, with a stop at the famous Rest and Be Thankful Viewpoint, where you can take in spectacular views of the glen and the surrounding mountains. Afterward, the tour will take you to the village of Inveraray, located on the shores of Loch Fyne. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Campbell Clan. The 18th-century castle offers beautiful gardens, an interesting museum, and fascinating insights into the Campbell family history. 


Following your time in Inveraray, the tour will head to the Kilmartin Glen, a region steeped in Scotland’s ancient past, where over 5,000 years of history unfold before you. You’ll be able to walk in the footsteps of early Scots at Dunadd Hill Fort, once the seat of early Scottish kings, and admire the Temple Wood Stone Circle, a prehistoric site. From here, the journey will continue to the picturesque seaside town of Oban, known for its vibrant harbour and incredible seafood. This charming town will be your base for the first night of the tour, giving you the chance to sample some of Scotland's best seafood.

On day two, your journey begins by crossing the Connel Bridge and traveling through Appin, before reaching the haunting landscape of Glen Coe, one of Scotland’s most iconic and dramatic locations. Known for its sensational scenery, Glen Coe is also the site of the infamous Massacre of the MacDonald Clan in 1692, and here you’ll have time to take in the breathtaking views while learning about the tragic history of the area. After soaking in the atmosphere, the tour continues to Fort William, where you’ll stop for lunch in this bustling Highland town, offering a perfect opportunity to try local cuisine. Following lunch, you’ll travel west from Fort William, making a stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct, a striking landmark made famous by the Harry Potter films. While here, you’ll also have the chance to view the Glenfinnan Monument, a tribute to Bonnie Prince Charlie, and take in the gorgeous surrounding scenery. From Glenfinnan, the journey continues on to Mallaig, a picturesque town on the west coast of Scotland, where you’ll have some time to explore. Depending on the dates of your tour, you may board a ferry from Mallaig to the magical Isle of Skye, where you’ll spend the night.


Overnight: Skye


On the third day, you’ll have the entire day to explore the captivating Isle of Skye, renowned for its rugged landscapes, dramatic mountains, and stunning beaches. The island's natural beauty will leave you in awe as you venture through the wild and mystical terrain. Begin by losing yourself among the towering peaks of the Cuillin Mountains, where you’ll be treated to some of the most spectacular mountain views in Scotland. Next, visit the striking Kilt Rock Waterfall, where water cascades dramatically from the cliffs into the sea below, creating a breathtaking sight. Continue your exploration to the iconic Old Man of Storr, a famous rock formation that stands proudly above the island's landscape, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. The day will also take you along the picturesque Trotternish Peninsula, with its rugged cliffs, mystical landscapes, and historic sites. Not forgetting Portree, the charming capital of Skye, where you can wander the harbour, explore its colourful streets, and experience the island's vibrant culture. Your expert local driver-guide will lead you through some of the more hidden gems of Skye, sharing personal favourites. After a full day of discovery, you’ll return to your accommodation for another restful night on the island.


Overnight: Skye


On day four, you’ll leave Skye and cross the Skye Bridge, heading towards Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed landmarks. Set on its own island in Loch Duich, beneath the dramatic Five Sisters of Kintail mountains, you’ll have ample time to explore this stunning castle and its surroundings. Afterward, the journey continues towards the Great Glen and the legendary Loch Ness, the world’s most famous loch. Here, you could choose to explore Urquhart Castle, located on the shores of the loch, before taking an optional boat cruise on Loch Ness. The day concludes in Inverness, where you’ll spend your final night on the tour.

Overnight: Inverness

On the final day of the tour, you'll begin with a visit to Culloden Battlefield, the site of the Jacobite forces' final defeat in 1746. After exploring this historic location, you'll head to Clava Cairns, a prehistoric burial site that inspired the Outlander series. As you travel south, you may have the chance to enjoy a wee dram at a local distillery. The journey continues through the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park, with stunning mountain views, before stopping in the picturesque town of Pitlochry for a chance to explore. Finally, you'll return to Glasgow, where the tour concludes.
