Ontdekkingstocht naar Athene, Argolis & Delphi - 5 dagen

This morning, our expert guide will help you to explore the treasures of Athens during your morning sightseeing tour. Pass by the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian´s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University the National Library and the Constitution Square (Syntagma). Your tour will be followed by a visit to Acropolis, the eternal symbol of democracy, education and inspiration. Your tour will end with the visit to the impressive Acropolis Museum (entrance fees included). Afternoon at leisure. 

Na het ontbijt haalt onze bus je op voor een speciale dagtocht in Delphi (entreegelden inbegrepen), dat het beroemdste orakel van het oude Griekenland had en beschouwd werd als het centrum van de wereld. Op de hellingen van de berg Parnassus, in een landschap van ongekende schoonheid en majesteit, liggen de ruïnes van het heiligdom van Apollo Pythius. Je zult versteld staan van de Schatkamer van de Atheners, het Theater, het Stadion en het Museum met het beroemde beeld van Antinoos en het unieke bronzen beeld van de wagenmenner uit 475 v. Chr. en de beroemde atleet Aghias. We lunchen in het moderne en pittoreske dorpje Delphi en keren laat in de avond terug naar Athene.

Leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea, (short stop). Drive to Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides, the city "rich in gold" of the ancient poets. Visit the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs e.t.c. Depart for Nauplion through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress (short photo stop), leave for Epidauros, to visit the Theatre (4th century B.C.) famous for its astonishing acoustics. Lunch in Mycenae and return to Athens by the National road connecting Epidauros with Corinth.
