Een korte Everest Base Camp trektocht is een van de snelste manieren om het basiskamp te bereiken en geeft je een goed gevoel. Deze trektocht overbrugt een grote hoogte in korte tijd, wat verbazingwekkend is en veel moed vereist. Bovendien heb je energie en een positieve instelling nodig om deel te nemen aan de snelste tocht naar het Everest Base Camp.

Beste seizoenen: Bijna alle maanden van het jaar behalve de natte moessonmaanden van half juni tot half september. De beste tijd voor de Everest Base Camp Short Trek is van maart tot mei voor heldere uitzichten tot in de middag, wanneer de wilde bloemen in bloei staan.
Daarnaast heb je een fantastisch uitzicht op de bergen en een aangename dag met koelere ochtend- en nachttemperaturen. Ook oktober tot december is de beste tijd voor heldere uitzichten op de bergtoppen. De dagen met weinig zonlicht kunnen 's ochtends en 's nachts ijskoud zijn. Dit hangt af van de hoogte en de overnachting.
Vertrek vanuit het hotel naar de binnenlandse luchthaven van Kathmandu voor een korte supervlucht van 35 minuten naar de kleine landingsbaan van Lukla. Hier heb je tijd om je te organiseren en begin je aan de wandeling naar Choplung. Choplung is een klein dorp en volgt de Dudh-Kosi rivier en vallei om uit te komen bij Phadkingma dorp voor de overnachting.
Phakdingma wordt ook wel kortweg Phakding genoemd, maar wij hebben de juiste woorden gebruikt uit respect voor de naam.

Vandaag wordt een lange wandeling met een vleugje hoogte. De ochtend begint dus met het oversteken van de rivier en het lopen langs verschillende leuke Sherpa dorpjes om Monjo dorp te bereiken. Van daaruit ga je het Sagarmatha National Park in (staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst).
We lopen langs de rivieroevers, zodat onze route hoger bergopwaarts leidt in de koele schaduw van rododendron-eiken en pijnboombossen. Je hebt uitzicht op de toppen van Kongde, Kusum Khanguru en Tharmasakru.
Daarna bereiken we onze overnachtingsbestemming in het beroemde Namche Bazaar, een groot dorp en stad met veel goede restaurants, hotels, lodges, een aantal winkels waaronder een bank en postkantoor.
Geniet in Namche van het comfort van een gezellige lodge en neem de tijd om het uitzicht op de besneeuwde toppen te bewonderen.
Begin 's ochtends de wandeling vanuit de lodge in Namche met een korte klim en dan over een geleidelijk pad met uitzicht op Everest en Amadablam, inclusief een reeks bergtoppen. Daal af naar de Imjatse rivier en ga dan een kloof in binnen Phunke-Tenga, een kleine nederzetting. Daar stop je voor de lunch voordat je omhoog klimt naar het schilderachtige en mooie Thyangboche.
In de namiddag klim je omhoog met een bosrijk uitzicht op de toppen van Kangtenga-Tharmasarku. Zo bereik je de top van een heuvelrug in Thyangboche, waar je overnacht, dicht bij een interessant boeddhistisch klooster.
Nadat je hebt ingecheckt in je kamer, kun je het klooster bezoeken en getuige zijn van monniken en priesters die religieuze activiteiten uitvoeren met gebed. Thyangboche biedt een geweldig panorama op de toppen van de Everest en de Amadablam in een prachtig bos. Deze bossen bestaan uit rododendron-magnolia-eiken-juniper-berken en sparren.
s Ochtends genieten van het uitzicht op de omringende bergtoppen, waar de wandeling bergafwaarts gaat langs Deoboche in het bos om de Imjatse rivier te bereiken. Vervolgens steek je een stalen brug over en vanaf hier is het einde van de groene vegetatie en bomenrijen. Dan leidt de wandeling naar een winderig, droog en dor land om Pangboche te bereiken. Pangboche is het laatste permanente dorp op de route naar het Everest basiskampavontuur.
Langzaam gaat de wandeling langs Pangboche omhoog en omlaag naar een rivier. Met de laatste klim van de dag van een uur, bereik je een schilderachtige Imjatse vallei in Dingboche. Deze kijkt uit op de noordkant van de Amadablam, met uitzicht op de Island Peak in oostelijke richting.
Na een aangename stop in Dingboche begint de ochtendwandeling met een korte klim naar een heuvel vol boeddhistische gebedsvlaggen en monumenten met uitzicht op de bergtoppen. De tocht voert vanaf hier over een mooi geleidelijk pad, met uitzicht op de Cholatse en Taboche toppen en bereikt een kleine nederzetting in Thugla, waar de enorme Khumbu gletsjer smelt in een turbulente rivier.
Als je een korte brug oversteekt en Thugla beklimt, stop je voor een eventuele lunch en rust je even uit. Voordat je hogerop gaat naar Lobuche, na een pauze en lunch, begin je met een langzame klim naar een richeltop met gedenktekens van onfortuinlijke bergbeklimmers die hun leven riskeerden bij het beklimmen van hoge bergen rond Khumbu en Everest.
Vanaf hier, een goede wandeling met geleidelijke stijging, bereik je Lobuche, gelegen op de hoek van een brede vallei onder de toppen van Lobuche East en West.
Vanuit Lobuche begint ons eigenlijke avontuur in de vroege ochtend met een langzame klim naar boven en een steile klim naar de Khumbu gletsjer.
De wandeling gaat verder over rotsachtige morenen en ijs naar Gorakshep, gelegen onder Kalapathar en Mt. Pumori. Na een korte rustpauze loop je verder naar het oosten om ons doel, het Everest basiskamp, te bereiken.
Uiteindelijk bereik je precies onderaan de nummer één piek van het Everest basiskamp, waar je getuige bent van de hoge toppen van Lhotse-Nuptse. In de maanden april en mei staat dit basiskamp onder water. De tentenkampen van verschillende bergbeklimmersexpedities om Everest en Lhotse te beklimmen zijn dan kleurrijk.
Na een prachtige wandeling met spannende momenten waarin we ons doel hebben bereikt, gaat de wandeling terug naar Gorakshep. Stop voor een overnachting voordat je afdaalt naar Lukla na een klim op de top van Kalapathar.
s Ochtends vroeg bij het krieken van de dag en voor het ontbijt klim je naar de top van Kalapathar, gelegen boven 5.545 m. Dit wordt dus het hoogste punt van het avontuur, met overweldigende uitzichten op de omringende hoge bergen binnen het bereik van Everest en Mt.
Na prachtige landschappelijke momenten daal je weer af naar Gorakshep. Na het ontbijt ga je verder bergafwaarts naar de Pheriche vallei en dan verder naar onze overnachtingsplaats in het dorp Pangboche.
Na het voltooien van ons geweldige avontuur naar het basiskamp van de Everest met de beklimming van de top Kalapathar, gaat een gemakkelijke maar lange wandeling bergafwaarts naar Namche Bazaar. De ochtend voert je terug naar de top van het prachtige Thyangboche en zijn klooster en dan terug naar de boomgrens.
Vanaf hier is het een aangename en schilderachtige wandeling terug naar Namche Bazaar voor de laatste overnachting in Khumbu voor Lukla.
De laatste en laatste dag van het avontuur brengt je 's ochtends naar een lange afdaling naar de riviervallei en langs het Sagarmatha National Park in de buurt van het dorp Monjo. De wandeling gaat verder langs Phakdingma en dan de laatste klim van minder dan een uur om Lukla te bereiken voor een overnachting voordat je terugkeert naar Kathmandu.
Volgens het normale vluchtschema naar Kathmandu, 's ochtends vroeg en voor het laatst ontbijten in Lukla, transfer naar Tenzing en Hillary luchtterminal op Lukla Airport. Deze korte vlucht brengt je aan boord van een klein vliegtuigje terug naar de luchthaven van Kathmandu en vervolgens word je naar je hotel gebracht.

Booking with us:
After going through our norms and conditions you ask for information and queries if in doubt, all trip booking for Nepal destinations should be made by two months earlier minimum of two weeks times, so that we arrange necessary details well in advance to avoid disappointment like hotel-domestic airlines booking and as well chartering bus-coach or booking tourist bus tickets ahead before your arrival.
25% down payment which you can transfer to Bank Account in Kathmandu / Nepal rest of the trip cost to be made on arrival in Kathmandu before trek / tour departures, where applicable foreign currencies accepted like US $ – UK Pounds, and Euro or Chinese / Indian.
For Tibet and Bhutan at least minimum of one month booking ahead to arrange all logistic and entry permits for neighboring countries with 50% in advance.
Booking in Last Hour:
We accept your last hour booking in the eve of trip departure with 100% payment (07 days prior to tour starting date only for Nepal Trips, excluding trips Tibet, Bhutan and India not accepted as this requires at least 3 weeks in advance prior to trip departure for Nepal neighboring countries.
Trips Cancellation Policy:
On booking, some might be compelled to cancel the trip with various reasons from personal / domestic, medical, health, job or with some other situations, in this case where cancellation fees will be applied of 25% as cancellation charge, where you will be notified us or to our overseas agents with minimum of month in advance before trip departure.
60 % cancellation fee applied on 2 weeks to a month notice.
No refund on last minute or no show situation.
If clients has to return or break from the tour, trekking / or any other trips earlier than proposed itinerary days due to medical / physical or personal reasons clients has to borne his / her own expenses on route of trekking and at hotel in Kathmandu or in any other last main cities before you departure for home.
There are no refunds, if the company has to reroute to other areas due to unavoidable circumstances and from bad weather.
If such conditions arise company holds the right and providing you a hassle free adventure holidays with enjoyable time.
Clients’ Responsibility:
A tour / trekking guide representing our company holds all authority during treks and tours. If one behave badly or commit any unlawful act, where you will be compelled to leave the tour / treks. No refund will be made in such condition.
NEPAL VISA & PASSPORT CONDITION:
All clients are requested to have a valid passport with at least six months validity from the return date. Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. The costs of Nepalese visas are sole / own responsibility of clients.
CANCELLATION & BOOKING CHANGES FOR BHUTAN:
01: Required minimum of 30 days for cancellation notice prior to trip departure and it must be in written form, such notice will be implied from the day the note is received. Cancellation shall be valid after the company approval on receiving the documentation. The Trip shall then be termed as cancelled and then 50% of the trip amount would be deducted from the advance paid as cancellation charge.
02: There will be no refunds if a passenger cancels the trip or leaves a trip for any reason whatsoever, either voluntarily, involuntarily or if you commit any unlawful act after the trip has commenced. We will make no refunds for any meals, accommodation or services not used.
03: On the eve of trip departure if you are prevented in joining the chosen tour, unfortunately there is no refund regarding this, transfer or postponing options are available as the Bhutanese Government has strict Tourism act and policies.
BHUTAN VISAS & PASSPORT CONDITIONS:
All clients requested to have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date. For Bhutan visas you need to send your passport details to Destination Holidays for visa applications at least 45 days prior to the fix departure date.
TIBET CANCELLATION & BOOKING CHANGES:
01: As per the company rules, there will be no refund to clients with less than 20 days notice given to us, on or before Trip departure and if a clients leaves the trip earlier for due to personal or medical reason whatsoever, either voluntarily or involuntarily and if committed any unlawful act after the trip has commenced. Then the company is compelled to make no refunds for any meals, accommodation or services not used.
02: If client require any changes from the chosen original tour, the person who have booked the tour must submit a written document with any changes required. Then we will make every effort after the notification, but the changes cannot be guaranteed.
03: If you are compelled to cancel from travelling on the tour by genuine reason or circumstances, for example (without restriction) due to death, injury or any serious illness of the person, close relative or friends, redundancy or jury service, in this case one may postpone or transfer your booking to another close person, as long or provided they meet all the requirements relating to that trip. You are requested to provide proof of why you were unable to travel at the time and need to change your booking.
NEPAL / TIBET VISAS & PASSPORT CONDITION:
All clients are requested to have a valid passport with at least six months validity from the return date. Nepal visas can be obtained from the Nepal Consulate or Embassy in your country or upon arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. The costs of Nepalese visas are sole responsibility of clients.

As you are unable to obtain visas to Tibet you need to send your passport details to Destination Holidays for visa applications to this country, we require this information at least three weeks prior to departure.
HEALTH & FITNESS:
All Treks and Tours requires where one should be in sound health and good level of fitness before signing trip with us, client requires should with your Doctor or Physician regarding your health and fitness before the trip departures to Himalayan destinations.
It’s solely client’s responsibility to inform Eco Holidays Nepal of any pre-existing medical condition or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your required medical attention, which may affect your capability to travel on the trips booked with us.
CHILDREN:
An authorized guardian by the parents must accompany all travelers under the age of sixteen. If you have any queries regarding age and suitability, please contact us for further information.
PUBLICITY:
Request to allow Eco Holidays Nepal to use pictures, snaps or images of you taken during the trip without being informed and as well without compensation, for company promotion and advertising purpose only through whatever medium takes place.
CHANGES TO YOUR HOLIDAY AND PRICING:
Travelling with us requires a degree of flexibility, positive attitude good humor and understanding where mode of transport, accommodation and itineraries may change, even after the tour has commenced, without prior notice due to local circumstances such as flight delay, cancellation or postponement, road block due to riots and political crises.
WEATHER:
Himalayan regions or other unpredictable circumstances such as land-slides, road blockage, flood, snow, political unrest or delay arrival etc. Eco Holidays Nepal is unable to refund any payment under the above circumstances due to prior supplier arrangements. If possible we will always endeavor to provide you an alternative or substitute trip of same category.
Eco Holidays Nepal does not accept any responsibility for loss on employment, delays or compensation resulting from situations beyond our control.
Our holidays, tour / trek packages, are based on twin share accommodation. Thus, single room supplement charge will be imposed to clients who do not have another tour participant to share accommodation with.
We reserve the right to revise pricing rates posted in our marketing material, under any circumstances, or on the pressure of various external factors that are further than our control, for instance changes in exchange rate, government action etc.
PRIVACY:
In order to gather information from you to make a booking through Eco Holidays Nepal Destination, may ask many questions to obtain necessary permits etc. No private or personal information that you supply to us when making a booking will be disclosed for any other purposes.

Should you have a complaint about the trip or tour you must make it known to a tour leader or guide at the earliest opportunity who will take the appropriate action.

Client also should understand that what you might be accustomed to the western affluent countries, Himalayan or Third World and Developing Countries can’t afford such facilities.
Weather is another factor that directly impact on the journey. Hence, patience and positive in mind, enthusiasm and proper preparation before hand is must in taking part around third world countries.
The best thing is to take as it comes and think positively, then you will enjoy the holiday with us.
Travel Insurance:
You must have complete travel insurance package against medical, travel for natural calamity, helicopter evacuation, personal accident, trip cancellation etc. This is strongly suggested to all our respected clients.
Tour Amendment:
To make alterations of any trek / tour itinerary, prior notice is requested.
You are advised to stay in touch with us thus, but occasionally, you may be obliged to do so en route under certain circumstance for instance bad weather etc.
Your personal belongings:
On any account, we are not responsible for any loss or damage of your baggage / luggage or property even when it is shouldered by Eco Holiday Nepal porters, yaks-ponies or vehicles.
That means your personal possessions; luggage might be at your risk at the times, and however our trip escorts and guides will provide necessary safety precautions that this does not arise while with us.
Papers & Documents:
All necessary documents should be presented in sequence for example to issue visa, obtain necessary permits etc. We are not accountable in case of any trip formality not completed in time before the trip departure on the absence of essential papers and documents.
Risk & Responsibility:
Assuring your complete safety and satisfaction which is our main responsibility and concern, we therefore carry out our service sincerely & earnestly ensuring a hassle free holiday.
Nevertheless, unless stated otherwise, trip may change under uncertain and inherent circumstances such as land-slides, road block, floods, heavy snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay arrival, sickness or accidents etc. Any extra cost incurring there is your personal responsibility and should be borne on the spot.

Trek / Tour Grades information:
Leisure tours or walking trips:
For any physically fit of all ages with sound health, these trips involves short walking days of few hours and more of tour with scenic drives at places of interest. The whole trip goes from 4-5 to 8 days on trek or scenic tour.
On rafting for a day or two days.
Moderate Trips:
For any physically fit of all ages that have done normal walk and with sound health. These trips involves few ups and down and the length of treks will be from 4-5 hours of walk every day with plenty of break in between. The whole trip goes from 2-5 to 8 days.
Adventurous Trips:
For physically fit person of all ages with sound health who have done moderate to vigorous walk or activity before or at present. These kind of treks involves long ups and down and the length of treks will be from 6-7 hours of walk every day with break in between. The whole trip goes from 10 to 20 days in the high altitude. On Rafting it involves river expedition for 7 -10 days.
