El Calafate en El Chalten vormen een perfecte combinatie voor een Patagonische escapade. Vanuit El Calafate kun je het prachtige Los Glaciares National Park bezoeken, met de beroemde Perito Moreno gletsjer. Maar op slechts 3 uur ten noorden van El Calafate vind je El Chalten, een perfecte plek voor liefhebbers van trektochten. Aangename U-vormige gletsjervalleien, ongelooflijke rotspieken en de wandelpaden die net buiten het dorp vertrekken. Een paar dagen om de vrijheid van extreem Patagonië te voelen!

Ontbijt. 7.00 u - Perito Moreno gletsjer hele dag tour:
Mensen van over de hele wereld komen naar deze afgelegen plek in Zuid-Patagonië om getuige te zijn van de ijstijd. Dit is een van de meest bewegende gletsjers ter wereld en een bezoek is niet alleen de moeite waard, het is een MUST.
Je vertrekt vroeg in de ochtend vanuit El Calafate om te genieten van het landschap, de natuur, de fauna en de grote verscheidenheid aan vogels (in een poging om eerder dan iedereen bij de gletsjer aan te komen). Via de poorten bezoek je de noordwand van de Perito Moreno gletsjer, op verschillende uitkijkpunten vanaf verschillende hoogtes. Terug in het hostel of hotel om 4-5 uur 's middags.
Day 3
El Chalten
Ontbijt. In de ochtend - El Chalten full day tour. Je wordt opgehaald bij je accommodatie. Voordat je in El Chaltan aankomt, stopt de bus bij de kop van het Lago Argentino, om van het uitzicht op het meer te genieten, tghen bij de Parador La Leona voor een kopje koffie en de derde stop is bij het uitkijkpunt van het Lago Viedma. Eenmaal in El Chalten loop je tot de uitkijkpost Mirador de los Condores om de vallei en de berg Fitz Roy in de verte te zien. Daarna zul je lunchen bij Rancho Grande (inbegrepen). Na de lunch kun je wandelen tot El Chorrillo del Salto. Om ongeveer 16.00 uur gaan we terug naar El Calafate, waar we rond 19.00 uur aankomen.
El Chalten is de hoofdstad van het wandelen in Argentinië, door de lezers van Lonely Planet uitgeroepen tot de beste Patagonische bestemming. Er alleen al zijn is een voorrecht om te genieten van de spectaculaire landschappen.
