AYUBOWAN-! Welcome to Sri Lanka, the land like no other, and 11 days of exploration, experiencing the culture, the lush green tea estates and all the best adventure experiences in the country. Upon arrival at Colombo CMB airport, you will meet your tour leader and you will be transferred to your hotel (we can pick you up from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo as well). The first destination will be Negombo coastal town, which has long been known as the most popular beach in Sri Lanka, famous for its golden sandy beach, food, and fun. 

DAY PLAN:

• For day one, we haven’t planned any activity, thus you are free to arrive in Sri Lanka at any time. If your flight arrives early in the day, relax on the beach and pool of your cozy hotel. 
• Evening, you may have a walk along the seashore while enjoying the beautiful sunset and the pleasant evening atmosphere of the beachside. 

Overnight stay in a seafront hotel at Negombo.

After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will have a wonderful coastal drive towards Wilpattu National Park. We choose to visit this park because we believe it is less crowded and offers better experiences. 

DAY PLAN:

• En route to Wilpattu, visit Munneshwaram Hindu Kovil.  
• Late afternoon, visit Wilpattu National Park. Also, the same animals can be seen here as in Yala. Enjoy a 4x4 jeep ride searching for leopards hanging on trees or whispering through the bushes, crocodiles patrolling the river or wild elephants drinking water and playing around under the evening sunset. 

Overnight stay in a cosy safari resort at Anuradhapura

After having a delicious breakfast with a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or coffee, you will have a wonderful journey across the stunning Sri Lankan countryside towards Anuradhapura ancient city (UNESCO World Heritage Site). 

DAY PLAN:

• Upon arrival at Anuradapura, take a tour around the ancient city. Cycling through Anuradhapura's ancient locations is a wonderful experience. 
• Afterwards, visit Sri Maha Bodhi, the sacred tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and that has stood with pride for more than 2200 years. 
• Thereafter,  visit Ruwanweliseya, a monument built in 140 BC that embodies the culture, heritage, and supremacy of the strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history. 
• Afternoon, visit Ritigala Forest Monastery; if you are looking for a calm and peaceful location, this is your ideal destination. The monks who dwelt here were called Pansukulika. This word means ‘rag-robes’ and refers to a vow taken by these monks to wear only robes made from rags. They observed extreme austerity, they lived in caves and in monasteries in mountains and forests and their piety and austere way of life were greatly admired by everyone.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will travel towards Sigiriya, which is the central point of the cultural triangle in the country. 

DAY PLAN:

• Upon arrival, you will visit Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site), since it’s the best time to witness and capture the beautiful scenery of sunset from the summit. King Kasyapa (477 – 495 AD) built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. Known as one of the wonders of the world due to the amazing architecture & technology being used. 
• Thereafter, you'll enjoy a wonderful cultural village tour while exploring the beautiful countryside. It is a great opportunity to get close to unique local culture & life style of Sri Lankan people.  It will start with a Tuk Tuk ride and a catemaran boat ride across the lake before reaching the farmer’s house where you will experience a Sri Lankan curry cooking demostration & authentic countryside food. 
• Evening, head back to your cozy hotel and relax. If you are interested, you could experience an Ayurvedic herbal massage at your hotel.

Overnight stay in a nature-friendly resort at Sigiriya

After breakfast, proceed towards Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and bio-diverse rainforests. Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

DAY PLAN:

• En-route to Kandy, visit the Royal Cave Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Dambulla has the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 meters over the surrounding plains and houses 5 cave temples with some of the most unique and significant historical drawings.
• Afternoon, vist the Temple Of Tooth Relic (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Kandy view point.
• Evening, you’ll explore on your own walking around Kandy's city centre before engaging with a cultural dance show which is inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance and cultural heritage.

Het wordt vaak "Little England" genoemd omdat veel van de gebouwen in deze stad nog stammen uit de Britse koloniale periode, zoals de Queen's Cottage, het General's House, het Grand Hotel, de Hill Club en de Town Post Office.

DAY PLAN:

• Bezoek's ochtendshet museum; leer meer over de wereldberoemde en meest prestigieuze Sri Lankaanse edelstenen en sieraden tijdens een rondleiding door het edelstenenmuseum.
• Onderwegnaar Nuwara Eliya, terwijl je door de koude en mistige heuvels rijdt die weelderige groene theeplantages herbergen, stop je bij een theefabriek om de rijke traditie van het maken van Ceylon-thee te observeren die tot op de dag van vandaag levend wordt gehouden. Sluit je fabrieksbezoek in stijl af met een perfect gemengd kopje thee.
• In de namiddagkun je genieten van een wandeling door het centrum van Nuwara Eliya en de fruit- en groentemarkt.

DAY PLAN:

• In the morning, you will enjoy a spectacular train journey from Nanu-oya station to Ella village. It is known as one of the most picturesque hill country train journeys in the world (Train tickets will be arranged at the station / Class category is subject to availability).
• Explore the village, Ella is everyone’s favorite hill country village due to the fact that it’s a wonderful nature-friendly location. The Nine Arch Bridge, a major tourist attraction in Ella, is a massive bridge built entirely of solid rocks, bricks and cement without using a single piece of steel. Ella is a great place for walking and its most famous trekking route is to “Little Adam’s Peak”. 
• Evening, you could chill out at the village center where there are lots of restaurants, pubs and also evening entertainments.

DAY PLAN:

• Ga 's ochtendsvroegmee met een trekking bij Ella Rock om de zonsopgang vast te leggen (optionele activiteit).
• Nahet ontbijt vertrek je uit Ella en rijd je richting Yala National Park, het grootste en mooiste nationale park van Sri Lanka, geniet van een 4x4 jeeptocht op zoek naar luipaarden die aan bomen hangen of door de struiken fluisteren, krokodillen die in de rivier patrouilleren of babyolifantjes die water drinken en spelen onder de zonsopgang.

After a fantastic journey through the coconut palms, mountains, and waterfalls, you have finally arrived at the world-famous beachside of Sri Lanka. South Coast is a delightful sandy beach that was a well-kept secret in the past, but now more restaurants and pubs are opening to visitors. It's a magnificent place characterized by white sands and coconut palms growing right from the edge of the sea as if in imitation of a postcard of a perfect tropical beach.

DAY PLAN:

• En-roue to Galle, stop at Matara to witness and take pictures of the most famous Sri Lankan stilt Fishermen.
• Upon arrival to Galle, walk through the Galle Fort listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and observe how European architecture mingles with South Asian traditions nowadays flooding cultural enthusiasts on a global scale. 
• Thereafter, you’ll visit a turtle hatchery centre where baby turtles learn to take their first swim and injured adults are rehabilitated back into the ocean.
• Optional activities, Jet Ski, Banana & Tube Boating, Diving, Snorkeling, Surfing, Fishing & Deep-Sea fishing are few among the popular lists.

After breakfast, you'll continue your journey along the beautiful south coast towards Galle, a city well known for its Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site). It is the intersection where classic Dutch and British architecture meets a tropical setting, creating a vivid atmosphere in beauty. 

DAY PLAN:

• Take in the serene coastal atmosphere, enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach, or simply relax with a book under the shade of a palm tree. Whether you choose to swim, sunbathe, or indulge in some local cuisine at a nearby beachside café, the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Nahet ontbijt breng je een bezoek aan de Sri Lankaanse hoofdstad Colombo, die een interessante geschiedenis heeft die teruggaat tot de fifde eeuw. Al in de oudheid was dit een belangrijke havenstad in de Oost-West zeehandel. Tegenwoordig is het een bruisende moderne stad met een unieke sfeer. De kleurrijke straten, restaurants en moderne winkelcentra trekken hordes inwoners en toeristen.

DAY PLAN:

• Bijaankomst in Colombo heb je de gelegenheid om alle hoogtepunten van de stad te bezoeken en ook nog wat last-minute inkopen te doen. Maak een wandeling op Galle Face Green terwijl je geniet van de avondsfeer en wat street food proeft.
• Daarnakun je misschien een beroemd en internationaal gerenommeerd restaurant in Colombo bezoeken om je reis af te sluiten met een onvergetelijke maaltijd.
• s Middagsga je op tijd naar het vliegveld voor je terugvlucht of we brengen je terug naar je hotel in Colombo of Negombo.
